Rhonda was lying on the bed listlessly. When she heard that, she quickly sat up.

The only thing motivating her at that moment was figuring out how to deal with Bailey and Zoey. Thus, she was interested in listening to any news about them. “Stop keeping me in suspense, Mommy. Tell me!”

Beatrice sat beside the bed and ran her fingers through the hair in front of Rhonda’s forehead as she spoke. “My poor daughter. First, you were tortured by that b*tch, Bailey. Then, you fell into Zoey’s trap. Look at how thin you’ve become because of those incidents. Thankfully, god is kind enough to make those two women fall in love with the same man. One day, they’ll fight against each other with all they got and they will suffer great losses.”

Rhonda was losing her patience. “Don’t waste time saying that nonsense. What exactly is the opportunity you mentioned?”

“Why are you in such a rush, my child? I’m… Fine, fine, I’ll tell you. As you know, Zoey returns to Hallsbay every year to celebrate her birthday with Artemis. It’s probably going to be the same for this year, too. However, I just discovered something very interesting. Bailey’s birthday is the same as hers. Who do you think Artemis will accompany?”

Seven years! Not once did Artemis celebrate my birthday in the past seven years. Rhonda’s fists tightened.

Every year, when he celebrated Zoey’s birthday, she would get insanely jealous, so much so that she wanted to tear Zoey apart.

However, she didn’t have the guts to do so.

After all, Zoey was the heiress of the Shurmer family. With such a prominent family backing Zoey up, there was no way Rhonda dared to offend her.

Now, the tables have turned. It’s time for Zoey to learn what it’s like to be abandoned by a man she loves and go crazy from jealousy. Rhonda asked, “Who do you think Artemis will accompany, Mom?”

With a raised eyebrow, Beatrice replied slowly, “I got another piece of news. Artemis had supposedly gifted the mansion next to the sea to Zoey. Not only that, he had moved out from there. It would seem like he was keeping his distance from Zoey.”

That prompted Rhonda to laugh. “So what if she’s the heiress to the Shurmer family and Gerald likes her? Bailey is going to teach her a lesson she’ll never forget. I can’t wait to see the twisted expression on Zoey’s face when she gets jealous.”

It was then her phone, which was sitting on the table next to the bed, rang. Beatrice grabbed it, glanced at the screen, and said, “It’s the spy you planted in the Luther family. Do you want to take this call?”

Rhonda calmed down, stifling the strong waves of emotions in her heart, and grabbed the phone.

After talking on the phone for a while, she hung up and started cackling.

She laughed so hard that tears formed at the edges of her eyes.

Beatrice furrowed her eyebrows. “What’s going on?”

Rhonda’s grip around her phone tightened as she uttered one word at a time, “Joyce just told me that Gerald had invited Zoey to visit the Luther residence in two days so he can celebrate her birthday, too. However, Artemis won’t be there because of an emergency.”

Then, she grabbed her mother’s hand forcefully with excitement. “I need to go back to the Luther residence, Mommy. I need to personally see the twisted expression on Zoey’s face when she learns Artemis ditched her to celebrate Bailey’s birthday!”

Beatrice thought for a while and nodded. “Then let’s go. We can use this opportunity to flaunt in front of her and aim her attacks in Bailey’s direction. What a wonderful show it’ll be when those two women fight against each other.”

“Okay.”

In a private room on the second floor of a cafe, two elegant young women were sitting next to the window.

They simply stared at each other, studying each other, while staying silent.

After a long while, the woman sitting on the right, who was wearing a red gown, spoke first. “Thank you for taking the time to meet with me, despite your busy schedule, Ms. Fletcher.”

Scarlett smiled, her every single move exuding an air of grace. “You speak too highly of me, Ms. Revelle. Not only are you the heiress of a prestigious medical family, but you’re also the consort of Gregan’s royal family. It’s my honor to meet you.”

Yvonne nodded slightly and praised, “You’re indeed the heiress of a prestigious military family, Ms. Fletcher. The attitude you possess when you deal with your matters impresses me.”

“Hah.” Scarlett lowered her head and chuckled. “We know what’s going on here, so let’s just get to the point. I know you invited me because there’s something you want to know. Tell me about it, and I’ll see if I can enlighten you.”

Yvonne failed to hold back her laughter. Even though this woman is still young, she’s pretty intelligent. Despite her straightforward demeanor, she’s actually exceptionally steadfast.

“Well, you see, my son has leukemia. I’ve searched everywhere for suitable bone marrow, but it wasn’t until I bought important intel from the black market that I found hope. They said your bone marrow was a perfect match with my son’s. I invited you out today because I wanted to ask you for help to save my poor child.”

The words “leukemia” and “bone marrow” repeated in Scarlett’s mind as the smile on her face faded. Without hesitation, she rejected, “If it was anything else, I would’ve agreed to help you out. However, this is the only thing I can’t help you with. You should know I almost lost my life when I fell ill seven years ago. Even though I’ve been recuperating for the past few years, my body is still weak. Drawing a few drops of blood from me is enough to make me faint, so you can imagine what will happen if my bone marrow is extracted. My family won’t agree to this request. You should look for help somewhere else.”

When she finished, she grabbed her bag and prepared to leave.

That made Yvonne panic. She quickly held onto Scarlett’s hand and pleaded, “My son only has a few months left to live, Ms. Fletcher. They say that what goes around comes around and that one will be

rewarded by the universe for saving a life. Please, I beg you, save my son. If you don’t save him, only death awaits him.”

Scarlett tried to break free from Yvonne’s grab as rage seeped into her voice. “Mdm. Yvonne, please mind your behavior. Bone marrow donation is based on the condition that the donor is willing to do so. I’ve made it clear to you that my body disallows me to make that kind of sacrifice. I’m sorry, but I can’t help you or your son. Hopefully, you’ll get lucky and find a suitable donor soon.”

Then, she began to pry Yvonne’s fingers off her hand one by one.

Yvonne quickly stood up and said, “I’ll ask Ms. Anonymous to perform the operation! Your life won’t be in danger! Please, won’t you consider this, Ms. Fletcher?”

Instead of answering her, Scarlett shouted at the door.

Soon, a few well-trained bodyguards in black rushed in.

Yvonne was forced to let go of Scarlett’s hand before she watched as the latter was escorted out of the room by bodyguards.

Her legs turned to jelly as she fell back to her chair.

A moment of silence later, she grabbed her phone and texted Veronique: I’m sorry, Veronique. It didn’t work. You should find another method.

Meanwhile, in the lead designer’s office inside Luther Group’s headquarters, Bailey was sitting next to

the window and answering Veronique’s phone call. “Since she disagreed, we can’t force her to do it. I think you should tell Justin about Zephyr’s true identity, Vero.”
