As Cason was thinking, a pair of warm hands gently held him. He turned his head and Kaliyah

looked at him with concern. “Cason, is there something wrong with your stomach? Do you want to have

some soup?”

Cason shook his head.

After Ainsley greeted Mathew, she quietly pulled out a chair and sat down, ignoring their

interaction.

However, Mathew snorted disdainfully.

When the Baldry family had dinner, they always focused on food and did not speak at all. Ainsley did not

have an appetite and only ate a little with Mathew..

When they finished eating, Mathew held her hands. “I heard about you and Cason. Aisy, don’t worry. The

Baldry family only recognizes you as our daughter-in-law.”

He glanced at Kaliyah and Cason, who looked a bit awkward, and added, “The people who leave. the

Baldry family should be the home wrecker and the irresponsible jerk!”

Ainsley was a little embarrassed.

Cason frowned and his face darkened slightly. Beside him, Kaliyah held his hand with tears in her eyes.

She looked pitiful.

Mathew did not care about them. He patted the table and sighed, “Your father and I are good. friends. I

was happy for a long time when you married into our family. Aisy, if I let you leave the Baldry family now,

how should I explain it to your father?”

“Grandfather, I will do my best to compensate Ainsley. You can’t force me to…” Cason rubbed his

temples resignedly.

Mathew immediately glared at him. “What do you mean by ‘force’? You’re blind! What kind of

women have you taken a fancy to?”

Seeing that Mathew and Cason were about to quarrel, Ainsley said gently, “Grandfather, it’s not that

he wants a divorce. It’s me.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the living room became strangely silent.

Ainsley poured a cup of warm water for Mathew and let him drink it to calm himself down. She slowly

said, “Grandfather, you don’t have to worry about me. I will never compromise. Everything I

have done is to follow my heart. The reason why I wanna divorce is that I just don’t like Mr. Baldry

anymore.”

Her expression was very calm as if she had been freed from the cage. There was a different kind

of peace.

Cason looked at her beautiful and fair face under the light, and his face suddenly darkened.

Mathew was silent for a long time before he said gloomily, “The Baldry family has let you down.”

Ainsley paused and smiled without saying a word.

Seeing that Mathew had calmed down, Ainsley thought for a moment before leaving.

It was getting late, so Mathew nodded in agreement. He only looked at Ainsley’s back as she left. and

muttered to himself, “It’s good to leave him. It’s better than being with this little ****.”

Mathew sighed. He didn’t even bother to look at Cason beside him and went straight to the study.

Cason’s face darkened even more.

Kaliyah said gently, “Cason, go upstairs and comfort Grandpa. He has always liked Ms. Easton. He must

be very sad now.”

Kaliyah had always been considerate. Cason held her hands. “I will send you back first.”

After sending Kaliyah off, Cason went to the study to see Mathew, who was brewing tea.

He sat down and gave Mathew a hand. He poured a cup of hot tea and said helplessly.

“Grandfather, Kaliyah will be my future wife. Even if you don’t like her, you should treat her better.”

Mathew sneered, “When Aisy married you, I also told you this. She is your wife. Even if you don’t like

her, you should treat her better. Then what did you do?”
