“What do you mean?” Dylan pretended not to understand Nora’s meaning and asked her with a puzzled look.

As far as he understood, the mean woman in front of him was trying to harm the baby in his mother’s belly by using his hand.

“Dylan, you are so clever that you must know what Auntie wants to say? Auntie has made it clear.” Nora blinked rapidly and did not bother to carefully explain her intentions to Dylan. His hesitant appearance proved now that he actually knew what she had said, but pretended not to understand it.

While Dylan had been retelling Nora’s words, Rita had held her breath for fear that Nora would teach children to do bad things. But considering that Dylan had chosen to come home and tell them the ins and outs of the matter, she knew that Dylan was the smartest kid in the world. She was incredibly proud of him, despite Nora’s audacity in trying to implicate him in her schemes.

“I know. Mom, I won’t be fooled by that bad woman! I’m waiting for you to give birth to my lovely sister.” Dylan’s big black grape-like eyes blinked innocently, and his little hand touched Rita’s slightly swollen lower abdomen.

“Fortunately, Mom, you told me in advance. Otherwise, I would have been really upset.”

Dylan preferred to believe his mother’s words rather than hear the story from other people’s mouths.

Rita smiled with relief. “Dylan, you are my sweetheart! Of course, I will tell you everything. Honey, I promise that I won’t hide anything from you.”
