David believed that the matter had been smoothly settled, but what he didn’t know was that it wasn’t as simple as he had initially thought.

In a bar along the busy street, a man in a wheelchair was sitting inside the VIP room and looking out through the translucent glass at the blinking lights and orgiastic people on the main floor.

The double sound-proof glass of the room successfully muffled the noise from the revelers outside. As a bonus, the semi-transparent window enabled him to see the silhouettes of the people outside the room, who were all dancing wildly, but they couldn’t see him clearly. After a few minutes, the door of the suite opened and a beautiful woman entered.

Her appearance was funky, lanky, and sultry. She was dressed in sexy clothes and a black cap, an outfit which perfectly flaunted her curvaceous and slender shape.

“Mr. Xu, it has been a long time since we last met. I was honored to receive your invitation. Uh, I am wondering why you chose to meet at this place though. You don’t really strike me as someone who frequents this type of establishment,” the woman said in a practiced husky voice. She closed the door behind her and took off the cap with natural grace, allowing her shoulder-length hair to fall loose.

“Yes, it’s been quite a while. Miss Li, how are you? I think this venue suits the needs of our meeting quite well,” Darren said. He smiled at Dina as he gently swirled the wine in the glass in his hand.
“Mr. Xu, thank you for your concern. I am quite well. It’s flattering that you still remembered me after our brief exchange last time,” Dina replied with fake modesty. She seated herself after their greetings and crossed her long legs. Her six-inch stiletto heels glittered in the ambient lighting.

Actually, Dina had met Darren only once before at a fashion show. According to her recollection, she had been invited to attend a fashion show which was held in F Country and Darren had also attended this show as a VIP guest of the Xu Group.

After the show, she was introduced to Darren by her boss, but they had only briefly exchanged pleasantries at that time.

“Well, let’s get down to business now. I invited you here to express my gratitude to you. Thank you for mentioning that useful information to me,” Darren said seriously. He took a sip of wine and then put the glass back on the table. The quietness inside the room was a sharp contrast to the noisy, cavorting atmosphere outside.

Looking at him sitting silently in the wheelchair, Dina felt it strange that Darren, who seemed quite gentle and quiet, had wanted to meet her at this noisy place.

Darren felt that he was like a lonely spectator, a voyeur, not belonging to the noisy world outside.

Dina grinned and ran her hand through her silky hair. “You are welcome, Mr. Xu. It’s really nothing special, hardly worth a mention. I didn’t even mean to say anything. It was just a slip of the tongue. I really had no idea that it helped you,” Dina said with a devious glint in her eyes.

She knew that Emily and Rita were best friends. If she couldn’t defeat Emily, who enjoyed the unassailable protection of Jacob, then she would get to Emily’s best friend as an object for her vengeance. Dina thought it was a good idea to take an indirect path to revenge by targeting Emily’s closest friend. In that way, she could vicariously hurt Emily.

“I always settle my debts, and I don’t like to be owed. Tell me, how do you want me to thank you? Name your price, I’ll satisfy you!” Darren offered. He knew that Dina had shared the information with him having a certain purpose in mind. Dina was a very shrewd woman and never offered her help for free.

Dina had hinted obviously to Darren that Nora had been having an affair with David. Was it really just a slip of the tongue? Darren was not so gullible. He didn’t know why Dina had chosen to inform him, but he guessed that she would certainly reap some benefit from the chaos that had followed as a result. Darren was momentarily lost in thought.

He was very handsome under the colorful backlights, which fired her desires. She rose with a feline grace and walked over to Darren, looking at him with her seductive eyes. He caught a whiff of her perfume as she drew close. Pulses started racing in tempo to the muffled beat of the music beyond the private space.

“Mr. Xu, do you mean I can ask for any reward from you? Yes or no? I want to hear you say it,” Dina whispered into his ear. She was so close to him that Darren could feel her warm and moist breath when she spoke. Darren’s handsome face reminded her of the man whom she had dearly loved. Having missed out on the opportunities with Ray, Darren was swiftly becoming a substitute for her longing.

She still loved Ray a lot and regarded him as her Mr. Right. However, he didn’t love her at all and had been continuously indifferent to her. This man in front her now was as handsome as Ray and had that similar cold look which appealed to her. She could finally lose herself now.

Darren was usually single-mindedly loyal to Nora, always faithful to his lover and friends. But at this moment, Dina offered an escape from the pain he had been forced to experience because of Nora’s rejection. It was weird that Darren didn’t stop Dina’s advances; instead, he invited them. Heart throbbing, he grasped Dina’s hand and brought it to his lips.

“Of course, you can get anything from me. Tell me what your heart desires. You know that Director Zhang is my friend, don’t you? I heard that he is looking for a suitable female leading actress for his new movie. I think you would be the best choice for it. Are you interested? I am a major investor in this movie and I can recommend you to him,” Darren asked with an evil, knowing smile.

Director Zhang was one of the most famous directors and had worked with many famous superstars. If Dina was chosen by him, her career would explode overnight. She would then be elevated to the upper echelons of stardom!

Dina had never even dreamed that she could have this opportunity to work with such a famous director. She had been trying to earn her place in the movie industry, but she had failed many times because of the furious competition.

There were many actresses who were prettier, younger, and more capable than her. But now, a golden opportunity was presenting itself. Her eyes exploded with delight after hearing what Darren had offered.

“Mr. Xu, I would really appreciate such an opportunity. Trust me, I would never let you down,” Dina said softly, her mind working furiously thinking about the implications and obligations that could possibly go with such an offer. She ran her fingers across Darren’s lips and then stroked his face gently. Her eyes appraised him invitingly, as she used her feminine wiles.

“I appreciate your confidence. You are the best choice for that movie, in my opinion. You can become the queen of movies, and there are many opportunities like this one, if you like. You know what I mean, right?” Darren said meaningfully.

Dina understood his intentions immediately and gave him a lewd wink in confirmation. She was clearly game. He casually took another sip from the glass before putting it on the edge of the table, and his eyes fixed on Dina.

Encouraged by Dina’s positive reaction, Darren intended to take matters a step further. He suddenly grasped Dina’s hands and pulled her onto his lap. With this movement, the glass was knocked off the table and smashed to pieces on the floor. Dina shrieked in shock at the sudden noise and then giggled invitingly. She was playing the willing tease to the fullest of her abilities now.

“Mr. Xu, you scared me. What are you planning to do to me?” she flirted with him.

Dina was actually a little surprised by Darren’s strength. It was unanticipated and yet her body responded to his closeness. Her heart began thumping with excitement.

“What do you think? Don’t you have any interest in me? Or should I stop my wishful thinking now?” Darren whispered throatily. But he didn’t stop his flirting. With his hands moving around her slender waist, he drew her even closer.

Dina pretended to stop him, taking his hand in hers and saying softly, “Mr. Xu, I am afraid that your wife will kill me if she learns about what is going to happen here between us. I don’t want to make trouble for you.”

She knew that Darren loved Nora very much. According to the tabloids, he had taken Nora away from his own brother through trickery even though he knew full well that Nora and David had been in love at the time. So, Dina was not sure whether Darren was testing her or not.

“Never mind her. I don’t care. No one can stop me from doing what I like, including my wife!” Darren said quite aggressively. But his eyes gleamed with hatred. At the mention of Nora, he couldn’t help getting angry.

He wanted to take revenge on Nora by betraying her, so he had chosen Dina as a substitute for his affections. Looking at Dina’s low-cut top, which revealed a large amount of her cleavage, Darren felt lust surging through him. Unable to bear it, he bit her shoulder passionately.

“Oh…” Dina moaned in surprise. A wave of pain flooded her body. She frowned a little and then surprisingly became aroused.

It was a painful but exciting experience. She could suddenly imagine him biting other parts of her body, and her face flushed in anticipation.

“I think I have fallen in love with you now. You are really hot stuff. You make me crazy. How are you so charming even when you frown?” Darren murmured enticingly. His teeth marks were left like a brand on Dina’s shoulder and he licked the red marks greedily.

Dina felt that Darren was a changed man from the gentleman whom she had met at the fashion show. He was lustful and greedy for her.

“Mr. Xu, you’ve hurt me. I…” Dina said.

“Call me Darren. We are the same, Dina. We are both greedy players. A million dollars for one night with you. Do you accept it or not? Tell me, you hot little thing!” Darren proposed then, licking his lips. He grabbed Dina’s chin and forced her to look into his needy eyes. He felt revived for the first time upon facing this strange woman and his blood boiled with excitement at the prospect of her company.

The way Darren looked at Dina made her suddenly feel uncomfortable. She couldn’t see any love in his eyes. Only his single-minded desire for sex was evident.

“Mr. Xu, do you think I am a whore?” Dina retorted angrily.

‘Does Darren really think I would sell my body for money?! I am an actress and have more than ten million followers on my social media account! At first, he was interesting to me because I could see a shadow of Ray in his face. But it’s obvious now that he misinterpreted my intentions!” Dina thought bitterly.

She had had no idea that she was just a tool for him to satisfy his sexual desires and to take revenge on his wife. Realizing this, she felt slighted.

Darren was surprised when Dina immediately refused his offer, so he added, “Well, I will give you two…”

Before he had finished, Dina placed her hand on his lips and hissed, “Enough! I have no interest in your money. I don’t need your money. But you can promise me one thing. Then, I will satisfy you in every way which you desire.”

Dina’s hot breath was on Darren’s face, still teasing and provoking him. She moved closer to him and looked at him with her sultry eyes. The energy between them was electrifying.

Darren’s left arm held her tightly while his right hand caressed her fair hair. “Dina, you are really an exceptionally clever woman. I should have known that you had an ulterior motive for getting closer to me. Was our first meeting at that fashion show an accident, or did you arrange it on purpose?” Darren laughed appreciatively.

Actually, Dina had wanted to use Darren to fight against Jacob.

“You’ve really wronged me, Mr. Xu. I didn’t know that you would be attending the fashion show that day,” Dina said innocently with a soft giggle and a shrug.

If she had planned this earlier, she wouldn’t have waited this long to ask him for help.

“Well, I promise you. I will satisfy your request, whatever it may be, since you don’t want to accept my money,” Darren instantly replied, his greedy eyes never leaving her face.

Dina couldn’t tell from Darren’s expressionless look whether he knew her intentions or not, but he seemed keen on sealing the deal with her.

She hadn’t expected that he would accept her request immediately without even asking for further details.

Once Darren agreed to help Dina to fight against Jacob, he might run the risk of coming up against David as David was Jacob’s best friend. David would definitely side with Jacob on this matter. Dina doubted that Darren would choose to support her over his own family.

“You have my word. I’ll do whatever you ask,” Darren said slowly while holding Dina’s hands.

Many people believed that the second son of the Xu Company was trash. Every time he heard such comments about him, he had always chosen not to retaliate, but had instead sighed and smiled bitterly. They didn’t know that all he had ever done was to help David clean up his messes. Darren had sacrificed a lot for David. He had done enough for David and didn’t want to live like that anymore.

He had now resolved to stay true to himself and do whatever he liked to from now on. Darren wanted to rise to the top after many years of being in the shadow of his able-bodied playboy brother.

“It’s a deal! I hope you can keep your promise. If you do, I believe that we will have a pleasant cooperation.” Dina let out a lewd giggle.

She kissed Darren on his cheek and curled her hands around his neck with a sensual grace.

They kissed passionately and their heavy breathing and moaning echoed in the sound-proof room. Outside, the revelry continued, mirroring the frantic activity inside.
