SPOILED GIRL, VOLUME 2 - Season 11 Episode 61
Ray was stunned and looked at Michelle with an unreadable expression on his face. Her wet hair was hanging around her cheeks. The fever had turned her face and even her collarbones red.
He cast his eyes down and pressed his lips tightly together, hiding all the emotions that bubbled from deep down.
He placed Michelle’s semi-comatose body in a bathtub half-filled with cool water, allowing the water to wash away her sorrow and soothe her nerves.
Although she was still feeling a bit dizzy, her fever had finally broken. Now she was just lying comfortably in the bathtub, and she let out a sigh of contentment.
Ray placed his hand against Michelle’s brow and, feeling that her fever was gone, carried her out of the bathtub. He called a maid to change her clothes and cautiously put her on the bed.
Then, Ray turned off the light and left. It was already midnight.
The moon’s glow cast a silver pattern of light on the expensive carpet. The large celestial body peeped in through the open window, but left the room in darkness. Ray was lying on his bed with his hands pillowed under his head as he looked up at the ceiling with an unreadable expression on his face.
By right, he should have taken Michelle back to Jacob instead of bringing her back to his home. But for some reason, he had instinctively brought Michelle back to his place and, for the life of him, he couldn’t tell why.
He shook his head restlessly and restrained his feelings, hoping to avoid making blind and disorderly conjectures.
Ray thought to himself that the reason why he had brought Michelle home was just that he couldn’t bear seeing Michelle getting involved in Emily and Jacob’s marriage.
He rolled around anxiously. The more he tried to stop thinking about these things, the more they were engraved on his mind.
Ray didn’t sleep at all for most of the night because his mind was full of these complicated emotions about Michelle. When the sun rose, he had just fallen into an exhausted nap.
“Ray!”
His body trembled when he heard a blood-curdling scream. He frowned and blinked; lack of sleep and only a few minutes of rest had made his mind fuzzy, and he sat up, yawning, as he said in a hoarse voice, “What?”
He had been woken up by a shout from Michelle.
“Get up!”
Michelle kicked open the door and marched into his room angrily, gritting her teeth and glaring at him.
“What did you do to me last night?!” She was upset and demanded an answer immediately. God knew how she had felt when she had woken up to find herself in Ray’s house and found that her clothes had been changed.
“What?”
Ray had just woken up and he was still a bit dull. He tiredly massaged his temples and said, “Last night?”
“You better tell me exactly what you did. Did you do something to me while I was drunk?”
Michelle was infuriated at seeing him being so sluggish. She stood in front of him and glared at him as she gritted her teeth, and she almost wanted to slap him.
The expression on her pale face showed just how angry she was.
“Are you crazy?”
Ray gradually came around because of her shouting. He couldn’t help but look at her, and he pinched his nose as he said, “Wouldn’t you know if I had done something to you? Are there any signs on your body that I raped you?”
Michelle was speechless when she heard his very logical explanation. She then thought to herself that perhaps she had been a little oversensitive.
Ray was right. If he had really done something to her, she would have felt something wrong and there would have been signs left on her body.
But Michelle vaguely recalled that Ray had placed her in the bathtub. If he had really wanted to do something to her, he could have done it while she was unconscious. Why would he wait till now?

Perhaps Michelle had just come here to question Ray and soothe her worries.
“Then what about these clothes that I’m wearing now?” Although she knew she was wrong, Michelle still wouldn’t back down and glared at him defiantly as she melodramatically said, “Do you dare swear to God that you didn’t undress me?”
“Ah… Miss, I changed your clothes yesterday. Young Master left us when I helped you because he thought it would be inappropriate for a man to be there. You are dressed in a maid’s outfit, but it’s clean. I’ve washed it…”
The maid, who had followed Michelle into Ray’s room, explained with her hands crossed in front of her chest as she gently bent forward in respect.
“Did you hear that? If there is nothing else, then get out of my room.”
Ray saw Michelle blush a pretty pink as she became embarrassed when she heard the maid’s words. He couldn’t help but sigh and waved his hand, saying, “I still need some rest.”
That somewhat relieved the tension and embarrassment in the early morning atmosphere.
“That’s more like it!”
Michelle said, still unwilling to admit that she had been wrong, and then she walked straight out.
She was in a flurry and her pace was not as determined as when she had stormed in.
Ray pursed his lips and lay back on his bed, holding his pillow over his face.
However, neither of them realized that they would star in tomorrow’s headline: “Jacob’s new girlfriend was drinking in a bar with Ray and then got into a free-for-all fight. The interaction between them was very intimate, and then Michelle was carried by Ray to his car and taken to his house, where she remained until early this morning. Theirs seems to be a whirlwind romance…”
The newspaper’s headline was all about what had happened between Ray and Michelle, and it also featured some graphic photos to prove it.
The photos had been taken at such an angle that it appeared to show Ray kissing Michelle. A swarm of negative comments flooded onto the internet when the photos were made public.
“What?” “Does this mean that Michelle and Ray are now lovers?”
“Don’t be silly, Michelle is Jacob’s new girlfriend, isn’t she? What the hell does Ray have to do with her? Is there anything shady going on between them?”
“No wonder Jacob hadn’t committed himself to their relationship yet.”
“Poor Jacob, poor Emily… The situation they are in seems to be really messy.”
“Mr. Jacob, I’ll immediately send for someone to block and delete these comments,” said Jacob’s assistant, standing by his desk with unease etched on his face.
Who would have imagined that such comments would suddenly burst forth on the Internet?
The assistant sighed inwardly. He thought to himself that he would certainly have to suffer through an outburst of anger from Jacob, especially now that Ray had been dragged into their love affair.
However… Jacob just chuckled and playfully looked at the messages and photos on the social media. He then placed his hands on the table and said, “Why block them? They’ve come just in time.”
He had been hoping for an opportunity to get Michelle further away from Emily and himself. Now, finally, he had gotten it.
Michelle had never been taken seriously by Jacob. No, everything had settled down. Everyone, including Darren, had shifted their focus to Michelle and Jacob, and they were puzzled that he had fallen in love with her.
