Jacob licked his lips and looked at Emily with the faintest hint of a smile on his lips. His words contained more meaning than what had been spoken, and he dragged out the last word on purpose.

“You!”

Emily suddenly realized what he had insinuated by saying that. With her face utterly devoid of color and her teeth clenched until they ached, her breathing became ragged. Then, she stared at Jacob in disbelief, seemingly not trusting his words. “Jacob, are you crazy? It’s undeniable that we had sex last night. But you are the one who should be blamed for that. If you ever tell everyone about it, I will tell them that you are the one who climbed into my bed!”

‘If he tells everybody that I refused him, but then finally slept with him, then people will consider me a sneaky and improper bitch. In fact, I don’t care much about what will happen to me. What matters is that the Ke Family will suffer a fatal blow to its image. What’s worse, the illicit deed happened just after the charity party hosted by the Ke Family, ‘ Emily thought bleakly.

She didn’t care about what would happen to her reputation. But how would the Ke Family react?

What about Hunk and Louis? Emily had to take their feelings into consideration.

“Oh? Are you threatening me? Let’s wait and see! You’re welcome to try!”

Jacob browbeat her. Actually, he wasn’t at all concerned by Emily’s idle threats. With a sardonic smile on his face, he added, “I saved your life. Did you really think that I wished no repayment?”

“You!” Under Jacob’s emotionless gaze, Emily felt shivers run down her body. Her lips moved to form a protest, but she couldn’t even utter a sound. The man in front of her had become a stranger to her.

He had given her a ray of hope but then crushed her dream into pieces right before her eyes.

That was what Jacob always did.

“I wasn’t being threatening. Is that open to negotiation? Can we alter our deal just a little?”

Emily asked as she took a deep breath to suppress her rage. She tried to keep her tone even and steady, while staring at Jacob without blinking her large eyes.

She thought that she had to try her best to stop Jacob from doing anything that could possibly hurt the Ke Family.

Emily knew Jacob very well, so she knew that if she said yes and agreed, then the Ke Group would soon become his asset.
She had already caused Hunk and Louis immense distress. Therefore, she couldn’t gamble further with the future of the Ke Family.

“Alter our deal just a little? Give me a reason! What would I get from you, Miss Bai?”

Jacob questioned as the corner of his sultry lips curved upwards. He raised his eyebrows expectantly and fixed his dark, questioning eyes on Emily’s chest.

“I can do anything for you, except guarantee the cooperation of the Ke Family,”

Emily replied slowly as she breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Jacob’s words.

Sensing that Jacob was staring at her chest, which heaved subconsciously with her heavier breathing, Emily felt a little uncomfortable and even embarrassed. Pursing her lips, Emily stepped back and moved away, trying to avoid his gaze.

Right now, she was wearing a very slutty shirt, short and cut low enough to reveal the wealth of her bosom. In fact, it was not her style at all. Emily was so different from Michelle. She felt very uncomfortable when wearing seductive clothes, while Michelle was used to it and even enjoyed it.

Emily lifted her hands and folded them over her chest.

“Miss Bai, it seems that you know exactly what you’re good at and what you’re not,”

Jacob said slowly with his deep and charming voice when he saw Emily resting her hands over her chest. He raised his brows with a smile on his face and crossed his arms, while looking down at Emily.

“You… What do you mean by that?” Emily asked in a tentative tone, because Jacob’s words had stirred a bad feeling in her.

With her teeth gritted and her hands trembling, Emily had an inkling of where his mind was going, and she didn’t like it.

She hoped and prayed that things wouldn’t go where she had suspected they might.

However, what Jacob said next completely deprived her of this hope. He played languidly with the cup in his hand and traced the markings on it. Rising slightly at the end, Jacob replied in a very tempting voice, “You’re such a beautiful woman. You’ve been gifted with a wonderful body. I think you can make full use of it for everything you want. Don’t you think so?

By the way, I had extremely satisfying sex last night!”

Upon hearing what Jacob had just proposed, Emily froze, and her lips suddenly turned pale. Seeing that, Jacob’s heart shuddered and the cup in his hand slipped onto the table.

Luckily, Emily didn’t notice this because she was still consumed by her sorrow.

She didn’t say anything more, but her clear eyes had turned red. Jacob’s dark eyes exploded with remembered delight, but he tried hard to hide his true feelings. Fighting the urge to comfort Emily, he continued to humiliate her instead, saying, “I remember now that you’re quite good at repaying men’s favors by having sex with them, aren’t you?”

‘Right now, Darren must have received the news. And I am sure he will investigate the real relationship between me and Emily. So, I must take actions to push Emily far away from me as soon as possible. Otherwise, Darren will discover my secret. After all, he is a smart man. If Darren finds out the truth, I am afraid he will hurt Emily and our children.

Although she is heartbroken now, at least her life is not in danger. Her safety is my first priority, ‘ Jacob thought to himself.

Emily lifted her hand and threw a violent slap that struck against his face, while tears formed in her eyes. All of a sudden, the red mark of her hand showed on Jacob’s handsome face like a print of Emily’s shame.

Emily managed to release her anger with that action. But, in fact, slapping Jacob also made her heart hurt.

‘How could he say that to me?’ Emily asked herself, feeling utterly bereaved. “Jacob, you really make me sick!”

Emily cried with her teeth clenched as she hurled the shirt, which was in her arms, into Jacob’s face. Then, she stormed out of the room without any hesitation.

She kept her back straight, not wanting to show him her weakness. This act of defiance represented her last shred of dignity.

Emily found that she couldn’t erase what Jacob had said earlier out of her head.

“Good at repaying men’s favors by having sex with them…”

Emily felt that the marks Jacob had left on her neck last night were burning and still throbbing painfully. In her emotional state, she raised her hand to cover them, but it was in vain. They still stood out like flashlights to attract attention.

Last night, Jacob had brought her home in his car. So, Emily’s car would still be in the parking lot of the banquet hall. Right now, she had blindly run out of Jacob’s mansion all alone. Having no other options, she realized that if she wanted to leave there, she would have no choice but to take a taxi.

But if she took a taxi, the driver would surely see the marks all over her body. Emily shivered and kept her eyes lowered. There were love bites all over her body, and her cheeks burned in shame at the thought of what people would think if they saw her like this…especially her family!

The skirt Emily was wearing revealed far too much of her skin. Her neck and collarbones were completely exposed to the cold air of the night.

There were hickeys all over her swans like neck and collarbones. ‘What should I do?’ Emily asked herself, trembling with fear now.

At that moment, her eyes caught sight of some people approaching in her direction. With a rising sense of panic, she quickly hid behind the shrubs of the nearby flower bed and covered her mouth with her palms.

She thought, ‘Right now, I’m standing not far from Jacob’s villa. If they find me here and connect the dots, then they could tell everyone about it. It would be over for me then!’

Fortunately, the approaching strollers didn’t sense anything amiss, and they walked away while chatting happily.

Watching their backs disappear around the corner, Emily stepped out of the flower bed and calmed her nerves by taking several deep breaths.

Looking down at her clothes in desperation, she suddenly had an idea.

She found that there was a broad ribbon around her waist, which was purely decorative. ‘If I rip it off the skirt, some of my back will be expose to the air. But it doesn’t matter if I pinch the material shut with my hand. If I put the ribbon around my neck, I think it will be exactly the size it needs to be, ‘ Emily thought.

It was getting darker and darker. Acting quickly, Emily gnashed her teeth and ripped the ribbon off her skirt. She felt the coldness of the air slide through her skin, and she shivered from the cold.

Emily quickly ripped the skirt. Luckily, no one saw her, for she was in the corner of the flower bed and some trees helped conceal her.

But even so, Emily’s eyes still turned watery with embarrassment. Drawing a deep breath, she tried her best to calm herself down and prepare for the journey to get home.
