When had Bill ever been bullied like that?

Darren didn’t even dare to give him attitude, but Jacob had physically strangled him by the neck.

“What’s going on?”

Darren muttered to himself and developed a suspicion then. He lay back on the sofa, pensively cupping his chin. “Is that drug you used even effective?”

Darren sensed the taunting in Bill’s words. Bill paused for a moment and then quickly changed the topic. “Emily was saved and taken away by someone.”

It wasn’t just idle words, but rather a declaration.

There were only two possibilities. Either the prescribed drugs were useless, or she had been taken away.

“You’ve got the nerve to say so?” Bill shouted, enraged and furious. He immediately stood up and hit his fists on the table, spilling more coffee.

“You told me that Jacob and Emily were divorced! You told me that Emily was driven out of his house by him like garbage. You swore everything was foolproof, didn’t you? But how do you then explain Jacob suddenly showing up and making such a mess?” Bill was furious and his voice had become sharp and grating. The stench of his breath floated directly into Darren’s nose.

“Jacob came?” Darren sat further back to keep himself at some distance from Bill, while restraining his anger.

He blinked rapidly and felt confused when he heard Jacob’s name.

He then went on to ask Bill.

‘Why did Jacob go there?

Could it be said that Jacob hasn’t forgotten Emily at all?

Then, all that Jacob did before was just to trick us?’ Darren wondered.

Darren felt frozen to the marrow when he thought of that possibility. If what he thought was true, then Jacob had really perfectly deceived them all.

“Of course he did!”

shouted Bill. Neither of them were aware that someone was lurking in the dark nearby.

Dina clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. She glared at Darren from her hiding place and muttered to herself, “Damn it!”

Darren had said that he wanted Dina to keep an eye on Bill. But now, he had secretly sent Emily to Bill and wanted her to replace Dina?

Dina wouldn’t even have known about this if she hadn’t come to ask about Emily’s whereabouts.

It turned out it was she, Dina, who had been taken as a fool!

She understood both Bill and Darren. They didn’t think carefully with their minds. They just simply desired everything that drew their attention. Now that Bill had lost interest in her, plus the fact that Emily had been saved by Jacob, Bill’s desire for Emily would only intensify.

Men always desired what they couldn’t get.

Bill had lost interest in Dina, and she was now a complete joke. How could Dina keep her status in the entertainment circle without Bill’s support?

“Are you saying that Jacob never really gave up on Emily?”

They were still talking, unaware of Dina’s presence.

“I don’t know about that, but I also don’t know how he found her today. But there must still be something going on between them, judging by his anger.”

Bill had finally calmed down after his initial screaming fit. Now that he was in Darren’s territory, he had to be nice to Darren and find a way to help him to deal with the situation for both their sake.

“It looks like we have all been deceived.” Darren twitched his lips into the hint of a smile, then he picked up his coffee and took a sip, saying, “He really tricked us all!”

He knew that Jacob wouldn’t risk taking any action unless he was very sure he could pull off his plan. Jacob must have begun plotting his revenge on them, especially now that he had saved Emily.

But Darren had no idea this time how to wheedle Bill’s assistance.

Although Darren hated Bill, they could sink or swim together depending on whether they united in confronting Jacob now.

“You mean…” Bill looked at Darren, feeling shocked. He suddenly came up with a suspicion and almost choked on his spit, saying, “Has Jacob been faking it all this time?”

“That is only a suspicion, of course, but I don’t think the truth will be far from it.” Darren maintained a slight smile on his lips, but deep down, he was frozen to the marrow.

He placed his hands on the table and cast his eyes down at the floor, saying, “Jacob, you are doomed to fail now!”

One was doomed to fail if he was tripped up by others.

It had never occurred to Darren that Emily could be used as a bargaining chip!

The two men looked each other in the eyes and came up with another scheme.
Dina bit her lips, trying to restrain her anger and remain quiet. She glared at Darren and gritted her teeth.

“Let’s wait and see! You will pay for deceiving me and taking advantage of my loyalty.”

It was not her fault for desiring to screw up their scheme, now that they had pushed her past her limit.

She secretly disappeared into the darkness and took out her phone. Dina then dialed Jacob’s number and the expression on her face became almost ghoulish in the dim light of her phone.

“Hello, Jacob?”

Dina was still a bit afraid of Jacob. She didn’t realize that her lips were trembling as she spoke into the phone.

“Dina?”

Jacob was woken up by her call, and he nervously looked at Emily, who was sleeping next him. He then took his phone and quickly left the room.

Leaning against the French window and casting his eyes outside on the street, he said to Dina, “Did Darren ask you to call me?”

Having seen the video recording of the banquet hall, he knew that Darren must have been behind all that had happened.
Fortunately, Jacob had arranged some of his men in the banquet hall, in case something were to happen. And he had also installed some cameras to spy on his enemies, but these had unexpectedly captured Emily’s abduction instead.

Otherwise, the consequences would have been too ghastly to even contemplate.

“No, he will desperately regret it if he knew that I have called you.”

Dina’s voice turned sharp and there seemed to be an insinuated intent in her words.

“Hm?” Jacob squinted and said in a deep and husky voice, “It seems that you want to give me a surprise gift.”

If he wasn’t wrong in his suspicions, what Dina was about to say would be about Emily’s kidnapping.

“Of course, but I won’t tell you what I know about it unless you are willing to make a deal with me.” Dina batted her long eyelashes and her lips curved into a wicked smile as she chuckled and played with her fingers. She then said, “What I’m going to tell you has something to do with Emily.”

“Deal, what do you want?”

Jacob agreed to her terms. He had expected that Dina would ask him to do her a favor.

She must be looking for new backing now that Bill’s support had left her.

“Good.” Dina giggled and immediately put forward her demand, saying, “There is an actress in our cast…”
