“Keep an eye on Emily for me the next few days. I want to know everything she does,” Darren ordered.

He had spotted the expression on Dina’s face and knew what she was thinking right now. He sneered inwardly, but showed nothing of the indifference he felt on his face.

“Keep an eye on Emily?”

Dina had been carefully listening with her head lowered. She lifted her head abruptly and looked at Darren with a puzzled expression when she heard him mention Emily. Hesitating for a second or two, she then asked tentatively, “Are you going to offer Emily to Bill? Is that your plan?”

“Um…”

Dina lifted some hair with her slender fingers while looking into Darren’s charming eyes.

“You mentioned that you would make me happy and satisfied just now, didn’t you?” she asked tentatively.

“Well, that’s true…”

Darren replied as he glanced at Dina. The look on her face clearly said that she wanted more. At that moment, Darren was at a loss for what to say. With the corners of his mouth slowly lifting up, his eyes narrowed deeply, though they contained no emotion.

To be honest, Dina was really a beautiful and attractive lady. At least, Darren had never felt disgusted while enjoying her. On the other hand, he really didn’t care whether the woman he was having sex with was Dina or not. After all, women all felt the same in the dark.

Darren planted a gentle kiss on Dina’s neck. His warm breathing set her trembling.

He slowly nibbled her neck with a glimmer in his eyes. Feeling satisfied with Dina’s reaction, Darren pinned her hands up with one hand, while thrusting the other hand under Dina’s tight skirt.

Darren said to Dina as he dried his hair. Then, he threw the towel onto the ground with a faintly ambiguous expression on his face. Dina couldn’t tell from his face whether he was happy or unhappy. She had the feeling that he now looked nothing like the man who had just had sex with her.

Darren instructed Dina on what she should do next with a cold voice.

“Don’t worry. But I am afraid that he will get angry with me if I refuse him again and again,”

Dina replied as she got up and stood on the carpet, naked. Her fair skin was covered with marks and blemishes, some clearly in the shape of bite marks.
Dina looked at these marks and blemishes as her badges of honor, her military medals. She proudly stood there for a short while and then entered the bathroom to clean herself and dress in some clothes that she had taken from the spare wardrobe.

In Darren’s lounge, there were different sets of clothes that belonged to Dina.

Ever since the showdown he’d had with Jacob, Louis was out all day long. During the past several days, he had always come home at midnight. It seemed that he was away on business often.

“Louis…” Emily’s soft voice reached Louis’s ears.

“Well, Emily, why are you still up?” Louis asked in surprise. He was really shocked by Emily when he turned on the light and noticed her lounging on the couch. Then, he quickly covered up his tiredness with a brief smile on his face.

“Louis, is something wrong with you?” Emily inquired in a tentative tone as she got up and moved towards Louis. Then, she took his coat and grasped it tightly to her chest with her eyes filled with concern.

She knew that Louis was always careful with his public image. But recently, she’d noticed that there was beard growth on his chin and that dark circles had grown around his eyes. It was obvious that he had been hiding something from her during the past several days, and he seemed to be suffering for it.

“Oh, nothing. Don’t worry. I’m just really busy with running the company,”

Louis responded as he stroked her hair affectionately. Then, he sat on the sofa and picked up a cup of cold tea. After taking a sip from it, he continued, “You haven’t been sleeping great either, have you?”

Avoiding Emily’s eyes, Louis was trying to subtly change the subject.

But Emily was a very smart girl. She saw everything and knew Louis was really hiding something from her. However, she refrained from saying anything more. Still holding Louis’s coat to her chest, Emily stood there and lowered her eyes.
“Come on. Take it easy. I’m really fine. It’s just that I am truly busy recently, because I am preparing for a charity party,”

Louis said honestly. Seeing the sad look on Emily’s face, the beating of his heart surged wildly. So, he suddenly softened his voice and beckoned to Emily, gesturing her to sit next to him.

In fact, their father had made a deal with Louis to keep the truth from Emily. But now, he told her everything when he saw the unhappy expression on her face.

“A charity party?”

Emily asked in disbelief, frowning. Tilting her head, she glanced at Louis and added in a confused tone of voice, “Why are father and you holding a charity party?”

Generally, people tended to hold charity parties only when they wanted to elevate their prestige or they wanted to announce some very important affairs.

However, as far as Emily was concerned, the Ke Family had already become very prestigious. On the other hand, she was sure that holding a charity party would bring the Ke Family a lot of enemies, which was not really Louis’s style.

Therefore, Emily suspected that maybe Louis was doing it just because of her. “You are only holding the charity party because of what has happened between me and Jacob, aren’t you?”

Emily asked as she looked into Louis’s eyes with tears brimming in her eyes. She was waiting for his explanation.

After all, she remembered that Louis had been behaving erratically from the day she saw him talking with Jacob. It was natural for her to connect the two things together.

Emily had told herself many times that she had nothing to do with Jacob now. However, whenever something happened, the first person she thought about was still Jacob. It seemed like he had permanently become a part of her life. She wanted to refuse him, but at the same time, she couldn’t help wanting to get close to him.

“Of course not! Don’t worry about it anymore. Father and I will take care of it,”

Louis replied, looking into Emily’s eyes. She felt very nervous and her unsteady hand clutched onto the corner of her clothes, looking for reassurance. Biting her lip, she glanced at him and still felt very perturbed. Louis knew that Emily was blaming herself. Seeing this, he couldn’t help sighing and mournfully shaking his head.

Emily had always been a sensitive girl. She loved her family and didn’t want to cause trouble for anyone.

After a short while, a soft and gentle voice sounded in Louis’s ears. Emily spoke as if she wanted to comfort her brother, saying, “Okay!”
