SPOILED GIRL, VOLUME 2 - Season 11 Episode 33
Jacob’s words were like a gunshot to the heart of Emily. All of a sudden, her entire body became stiff as if the blood in her body had frozen solid.
With her teeth clenched in anger, the coat which was hanging from the crook of her arm, fell onto the ground.
With a look of grief in her beautiful tear-glazed eyes, Emily laughed at herself, expressing self-contempt.
‘Maybe I should feel grateful towards Jacob. After all, he concluded that it felt wonderful to have sex with me.’
Emily shook her head in disbelief, afraid that she would lose control of her emotions if she continued to listen to them. Before her anxiety could explode into a panic attack, Emily grabbed her bag and ran out of the coffee shop.
Emily ran all the way until she reached the underground parking lot. Leaning against a wall, she covered her mouth with one hand, trying to contain her whimpering as the tears flowed down her cheeks.
Meanwhile, Jacob and Louis were still talking in the coffee shop, completely oblivious to the fact that Emily had overheard a conversation between them, which was not intended for her ears.
“Fine! That’s settled then! Jacob, now that we’re clear about where we stand, I hope that you won’t blame me for doing anything bad to your company! I won’t excuse your behavior towards Yvonne.
No one gets away with insulting a lady of the Ke family!”
Louis threatened, grunting in anger. All the while, he had foolishly believed that Jacob was still in love with Emily, until he spoke with Jacob in person today. It pained his heart to admit that he was wrong about Jacob, as the truth would only hurt his sister even more.
When the sunlight came into the room through the window panes, Emily was comfortably lounging on the couch.
There were some biscuits in her hand, but she hadn’t taken a single bite out of them yet.
Emily’s face didn’t look as pale as it did earlier, but that could have been attributed to the sunlight. Even so, the dark circles under her eyes were still visible.
Emily’s eyes slid in and out of focus at the pictures in the television, but she didn’t pay any attention to them.
“Jacob, Jacob…”
Emily murmured as her fingers gently stroked a broken photo of Jacob inside a key chain.
Jacob’s handsome face wore a charming smile and his dark eyes beamed with love and tenderness in the photograph.
This photo was taken by Emily when they went out on a date many years ago.
Unfortunately, not long after it was taken, she had lost it. However, coming across that photo today seemed stranger than coincidental.
She burst into laughter, but only out of self-contempt, not joy. ‘Perhaps this is the only picture of Jacob I have left!’ Jacob had sent all of her things from the Tyrone Mansion, but nothing that had anything to do with him.
Suddenly, Emily’s phone rang and drew her attention away from Jacob.
She looked at the screen to see who it was as she threw the biscuits into the trash. Suddenly, with the cell phone in her hand, she froze. The shock on her face was palpable.
The caller was calling for an unknown number which immediately gave Emily a foreboding feeling. She paused for a moment, and then answered the call.
With a calm voice, she carefully said, “Hello, who is it?”
“Emily, it’s me!” Seamus answered tentatively with his deep voice.
Emily recognized his voice the moment Seamus opened his mouth.
How could she forget the voice of the man who tortured her in that village? Seamus’s voice frightened the life out of her.
“Why are you calling me?”
Emily asked coldly, keeping vigilant against Seamus.
The anxiety in her heart became stronger and stronger. Naturally, Emily became very confrontational and defensive because the sound of his voice made her feel unsafe.
She strongly believed that Seamus was the reason for the destruction of that village. After all, the entire village had been razed to the ground by the fire.
“I’m back and I’d like to invite you out to have coffee with me,”
Seamus said with his deep and charming voice. Emily couldn’t read his true feelings from his words.

Emily refused straightaway because she really didn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore.
Her fists were clenched tight under the pillow, fingernails almost cutting the palm of her hands. However, she couldn’t feel any pain.
Whenever she thought of Seamus, the bad memories of what had happened in the village would come rushing into her mind. It reminded her of how he had forced her to marry him and the thought of how many people had died in the fire because of him enraged her even more.
When the fire broke out, no one knew how to stop it or how it had started in the first place. All they knew was that they were facing life-threatening danger together.
After the fire, Jacob managed to come out of it alive but not without injuries. He had to be taken to the hospital where the operation had caused a severe loss of memory. That was when Michelle took advantage of Jacob’s predicament and successfully replaced Emily.
Emily believed that Seamus would have to take responsibility for all of that because everything in her life started to go wrong right after the fire.
She tried her best to hold back her hatred towards Seamus. However, the thought of being friends with the man was simply impossible.
“Emily, listen to me…”
Seamus hurried to explain, since he was afraid that Emily would hang up at any moment.
“You have always been curious about the real cause of the big fire, haven’t you? I didn’t set that fire. Darren didn’t do it either!”
Seamus replied in brief, but Emily’s mind struggled to register the shock.
“What? What did you just say?”
Emily asked after she regained consciousness. She felt as though someone had run her over with a car. The grip of her hand on the cell phone was so tight that her knuckles were starting to look pale.
‘Darren really didn’t set that fire? Then who did?’ she wondered. Emily remembered that Louis was the one who told her that Seamus and Darren had started the big fire.
“All the villagers were my benefactors. It doesn’t make sense for me to start the fire. I’m not an ungrateful wretch.
Besides, at that time, Darren was busy imprisoning Rita and robbing Jacob’s company. Therefore, he also didn’t have anything to do with that fire,”
Seamus patiently explained to Emily over the phone, but she couldn’t see the sincere look on his face.
When Emily didn’t argue in response, Seamus assumed that she was starting to believe his words.
So he added with his charming voice, “Emily, the person responsible was the one you’d least suspected!”
Seamus squinted his deep eyes and smiled.
‘As long as I can trick Emily into believing me, I will get it all under my control.
I think Emily is willing to hear me out now, ‘ Seamus thought to himself.
“You!”
Emily shouted as she didn’t expect him to say it like that. She bit at her lip in anger, finding herself at a complete loss for words.
“The issue I’m going to discuss with you is directly related to Jacob’s safety. I’ll wait for you on the third floor of Charm Entertainment Club.”
Seamus took the chance to finalize the time and place. With a smirk on his face, he went on, “So long as you come out to meet me, I’ll tell you all the truth, which is quite unimaginable.”
“Okay!”
After pausing for a while, Emily agreed to meet him. As usual, when it came to affairs related to Jacob, she would lost her self-control.
Emily shook her head to chase away the bad feeling in her heart. She kept giving herself hope, by telling herself that she was so close to the truth now!
At 3 p.m. in the afternoon, Emily parked her car on the side of the road and took her coat from the passenger’s seat. After forcing a smile at her rear-view mirror, she got out of the car.
It had been a week since she heard what Jacob said to Louis about her in the coffee shop. And since then Emily had already risen above her sorrow.
Although the mere mention of Jacob could still break her heart, she could control her emotions a lot better now.
