SPOILED GIRL, VOLUME 2 - Season 10 Episode 6

After having suffered so much because of Nora’s schemes, David had seen her true character, and now, he easily saw through her fallacious performance. Her act of having been wronged might have swayed others, but David was not swayed by her at all.

If Dylan had not told him that Nora had important information which concerned Rita’s safety, he would not even have bothered to see her at all.

But if Nora was telling the truth, David would not begrudge her some assistance in exchange for that information.

“Dearest David, I do not want money. I really just want to tell you something. Look at me, I have suffered so much to escape from Darren!”

Nora stared closely at David as she anxiously tried to determine whether she was getting through to him.

“Darren told you that he would get divorced from me. That was just a lie. He did not want to get divorced at all. All he wants is to kill me!”

Her act was one of consummate professionalism, complete with tears flowing from her large eyes, a pained voice, and an expression of pure determination. To the uninformed spectator, she seemed to be giving a truthful confession.

“So what? Does that have anything to do with me?”

David still kept up his indifference as he looked at Nora. He still remembered Rita’s devastation when Nora had told those lies and had sworn that he was the father of her baby. Nora’s lies had almost cost him his marriage and happiness.

David also remembered that Darren had even kidnapped his own biological nephew, Dylan, in an attempt to force him and Rita to get divorced, all in furtherance of Nora’s schemes.

The things which they had suffered were all because of Nora. Rita’s anger and sadness could also be laid squarely at Nora’s door. Therefore, David resolved not to fall into her trap again this time.

However, David did not feel surprised at all by the news that Darren had not divorced Nora because Darren clearly loved her so much!

“David… You…”

Nora was dumbfounded by what David said, though she did not show it. She just wiped the tears from her eyes, and after quite a while, she raised her head again and said with a husky voice, “David, I know that you feel angry about the lie that I spread, that you were my baby’s father, but… I really did not have another choice…”

David was startled by her confession, as he had never expected that Nora would admit her wrongs in person. He had always believed that she thought too highly of herself to ever admit her misdeeds.

“You know your own brother. Do you remember that I had called you to talk about something that night? After we separated… I was raped… The people responsible said that they had pictures of us together. The pictures showed us stepping into that room together. They said that if I resisted their act of violence against me, they would spread those pictures online and ruin you…”

After saying this, Nora burst into tears and doubled over, burying her head in her hands as she wept inconsolably.

David was startled by this news, and though his eyes remained cold, he was no longer as indifferent as before. But Nora had tricked him so many times that he would not believe her so easily.

“You are the leader of the Xu Consortium and I am your sister-in-law. If those pictures were posted online, what would the public think of us? And how much damage would it cause to you and the Xu Consortium? I could not risk that, so I used my body to buy those pictures…” Nora said with tears in her eyes.

Darren had deviously planned everything in this ploy, so Nora did not have to worry about what David might have discovered in his investigation of her. In fact, the more David searched, the more he would come to believe what Nora said.

“What’s more, I was gang raped, so I do not even know who the father of my baby is. Therefore, I didn’t dare to tell you or your brother. Later, I found out that I was pregnant. I was planning to get an abortion, but the doctor told me that I might never get pregnant again if I aborted the baby…”

Nora choked back tears, and for a moment, she could not say anything more.

“David, I am a woman and I want to one day be a mother. Therefore, I chose to keep the baby. But the truth came out eventually. Darren found out that I’d gone to the hospital and that I was pregnant.

You see, his disease affected not only his legs, but also his mind. He has become a dark and scary person over the last few years, and I fear him. That is why I was always hiding away from him by coming to Z country so often…”

Nora wiped her tears and continued, “Ever since our wedding, he has always hit me and maltreated me. I have many different kinds of scars on my body and they are all because of him…”

Then, Nora slowly stripped off her dress, showing her waist and her back. The vivid scars seemed to burn into David’s eyes.

David felt his emotions becoming a jumbled mix as his mind began to waver.

Recently, when Darren had kidnapped Dylan, David had noticed a difference in Darren. The once nice and decent man had changed into a cruel and evil person.

“If Darren had known that I’d been raped by turns, he would not only have aborted my baby but, in all likelihood, would have also killed me!”

Because of her constant weeping, Nora was weak and close to fainting at any moment. Her slim body was quivering and her large eyes were now dull and all but swollen shut. She was a picture of abject misery.

David suddenly felt guilt set in as he thought that if he had not pushed Nora to Darren in the beginning, Nora would not have suffered all of these things.

“Recently, he imprisoned me and wanted to cut my stomach open to kill my baby. If my two close maids hadn’t secretly released me, I would probably be dead now…”

“Stop it!” David yelled, his eyes filled with a burning anger.

“Dearest David, I did not hurt you on purpose. This was the only way in which I could protect myself and my unborn child. Left with no alternative, I said that you were the baby’s father. So, forgive me, please. I will admit all my wrongs and explain everything to Rita as long as you do not chase me out. I just want my baby to live and be born healthy,” Nora begged with her swollen eyes and hoarse voice.

“You’ve appointed people to guard the gates so that I could not enter the house. Therefore, I had to approach Dylan, but I never lied to him. I recently heard that Darren has found Rita’s younger sister. I was afraid that he would use Rita’s sister to threaten you, and then…”

Nora told David everything about Darren’s orders and his plans, hoping that it would be enough to convince David to let her stay in the house with him and Rita.

“What did you say?”

Not waiting for David’s reply, a pregnant woman burst in through the door and grasped Nora’s collar tightly as she anxiously demanded, “Where is my sister? Did Darren really find my sister?”
Hearing this news, Rita had completely forgotten all about the resentment between her and Nora. Her mind had gone blank and all that remained was the echo of Nora’s last words.

‘Sister… My sister!’ Rita could not help but shout this out in her mind over and over again.

Even before Rita had married David, she had been searching for her biological sister who had been taken when they were little girls. Not only was finding her sister the final wish of her parents, but it was also her own. Except for David and Dylan, her sister was her last remaining family in the world.

After their marriage, the whole Xu Family had discovered that Rita’s sister had been kidnapped when they were children and were now helping with the search. Therefore, it was not a surprise that Darren and Nora knew that Rita had a sister. It was even plausible that Darren had found Rita’s sister.
