- SPOILED GIRL, VOLUME 2
- Season 10 Episode 4 - (The first confession of love)
“Nope! We have to go fetch Beryl from school now.” Emily immediately wiggled out of Jacob’s embrace and ran to get her bag from her table before rushing out of the office.
She knew that if she hesitated for even one more second, Jacob would insist on bedding her first!
Jacob lowered his head to assess the state of his body as he could feel his unsatisfied arousal. Then, he took a deep breath to try and calm himself before grabbing some magazines from the table to hide his obvious discomfort.
At school, Beryl was staring closely at the door with her big, watery eyes, hoping to see her parents.
‘They promised me that they would come to pick me up together. Why haven’t they come yet? Did they forget about me?’ Beryl panicked as she worried over her parents’ absence.
While she heaved a sigh of disappointment with her face full of sorrow, Dylan quietly stood next to her, his concerned eyes resting on her face.
‘What’s wrong with Beryl? Did something bad happen?’ Dylan could not help wondering with deep concern for his little friend whom he loved so deeply. Recently, Beryl had been avoiding Dylan, so he had kept his distance.
Almost all of the kids had left school already and returned to their homes. Finally, Dylan summoned up the courage, approached Beryl, and asked, “Beryl, what’s wrong? Why hasn’t the driver come to fetch you? Let me take you home, okay?”
“No!” Beryl pouted and immediately refused Dylan.
‘Daddy and Mommy said that they would come to fetch me. I must wait here for them to pick me up!’ Beryl decided in her mind.
Despite Beryl’s refusal, Dylan was not at all upset. Dylan remembered then what his daddy had told him before: “If you like a girl, you should not always be so timid. And despite her refusals, you should be persistent!”
“Then would you please allow me to stay here with you in case someone with bad intentions comes and tries to hurt you?
You should not be alone.” Dylan asked this gently like a grown-up man trying to protect the woman he loved. His dark eyes were sincere and spoke of his concern and fondness for Beryl.
“Last time, you said that you would protect me but we were still caught by bad guys!” she retorted angrily. Beryl was still upset with Dylan as he did not approve of her crush on Ray. Therefore, she did not feel moved by his words at all.
Dylan heaved a sigh and murmured with disappointment, “Well… Yes, you are right…”
But soon, Dylan felt motivated again as he remembered something else that his father had told him: “It is very common to fail on the way to success. Failure means problems. If there are problems, then there must be solutions. Only when we find solutions can we have success!”
“That will never happen again. Beryl, you are my princess and I’m your knight. A knight’s duty is to protect his princess…”
Dylan spoke with a lot of confidence, but without even waiting for him to finish speaking, Beryl ran away as if she did not hear him at all.
“Daddy! Mommy! Finally, you are here!” Beryl yelled with excitement as she saw her parents.
Jacob caught Beryl, lifted her up into an embrace, and gently said, “I’m sorry, baby. Daddy and Mommy should have gotten here earlier.”
“I thought you weren’t coming to fetch me at all!” Beryl pouted to show that she was upset.
“We promised you, didn’t we? We always keep our promises, of that you can be assured. Trust Daddy and Mommy, please!” Emily said soothingly. Emily smiled as she comforted Beryl, but when she turned around, she found that Dylan looked crestfallen. He seemed to be in low spirits.
She walked up to Dylan and, bending down, asked with worry, “What’s wrong, Dylan? Why do you seem so unhappy?”
“I’m okay, Auntie Emily!” He quickly hid his disappointment and flashed an innocent smile at Emily. Then, he turned to Beryl and asked, “Beryl, my princess, tomorrow is Sunday. Let’s go to the amusement park, shall we?”
Dylan had recalled another piece of advice advice that his father had shared with him: “If you want to chase after a girl, you should know her favorite things. If you want to gain her affection, you should cook her the best food.” As for food… Dylan decided that he would have to learn to cook when he grew up!
‘Amusement park?’
Beryl thought for a while before deciding. But she was still not sure about it and she turned to look questioningly at her father.
“Okay, I will ask Uncle Sam to accompany you.” Jacob pinched Beryl’s cheek and his eyes beamed with love for his daughter. Next to Emily, Beryl was the queen of his heart, and he could refuse her nothing.

“Yeah! Thank you, Daddy!”
Beryl gave Jacob a big butterfly kiss on his stern face and smiled happily.
Seeing Beryl happy, Dylan also unconsciously began to smile.
As long as Beryl was happy, Dylan was also happy. Their juvenile bliss was charming to see, and Jacob smiled contentedly.
Emily watched the two children and also smiled. She felt so happy that Beryl was blessed with a good friend like Dylan and that it also allowed for the extension of her friendship with Rita.
This was a blissfully perfect moment!
The Gu family said goodbye to Dylan after the two children had set their appointment for the amusement park.
They agreed on the time they were meeting and on how long they were going to play at the amusement park. Both the children seemed very grown up as they made their plans.
Emily felt more grateful than anyone else upon seeing that Beryl had now completely gotten over the PTSD from the kidnapping. For the first few days after the incident, Beryl had been so traumatized that she had not wanted to leave the house without either her father’s or mother’s company.
Dylan headed home with his driver after saying farewell to Beryl and her parents. But as they drove onto the grounds surrounding the Xu Family’s manor house, Dylan saw a woman at the gate trying to sneak in. Looking closely, he realized that she looked very familiar to him.
“Uncle Wang, what is that woman doing?”
Dylan frowned as he really disliked the woman’s stealthy behavior. ‘Is she coming to hurt my daddy? Or my mommy?’
Thinking of this, Dylan’s face darkened and he ordered in a cold voice, “Uncle Wang, get security to chase her away.”
No matter who she was, Dylan did not want anyone to bother his family or disturb their peace. He could sense an unwholesome aura from the vague figure who was intruding on their property.
“Yes, Young Master Dylan.”
Then, the woman turned to look at Dylan as the car drove closer. It was Nora! Her face was beautiful as always, but pale. Dylan’s eyebrows furrowed deeply even though he didn’t know much about Nora.
All that Dylan knew was that his daddy and his mommy had once quarreled because of this woman and that they had almost gotten divorced because of her! His little jaw set firmly as he decided that he did not like this woman who had caused such drama for his family.
Last time, this woman had also tried to involve him in an attempt to harm the baby in his mommy’s belly. Dylan knew without a doubt that Nora was a really bad woman!
“Dylan! Dylan, I need to speak to your father. Please, can you let me into the house?” she called out to him. Seeing Dylan get out of the car, Nora quickly rushed to him as if he was her last hope.
Recently, David had resolved never to see Nora again, and he had given orders that Nora was forbidden from setting foot in his house again. She was an intruder and David had vowed to have her arrested if he found her trespassing.
Therefore, Nora had now pinned all of her hopes on the innocent Dylan.
“My daddy loves only my mommy! Why did you still come here?”

Dylan asked coldly. After everything that had happened, Dylan showed no affection toward Nora, and his words frightened her. Blinking like an owl, Nora looked at the pint-sized version of David who was blocking her access to the house. He was already developing an imposing personality and he stood confidently as he barred her way.
Dylan’s character was totally different from David’s. Like Rita, his mother, Dylan was decisive and resolute.
Thinking of Rita, Nora’s eyes became like iced daggers.
“Dylan, actually, I… Actually, I have something very important to tell your daddy. There is someone who wants to hurt your mommy…
But your daddy does not want to see me at all, so I cannot warn him. But I’m afraid that by the time something bad happens, it will already be too late!” Nora feigned intense worry, as if everything she had said was true.
