Ariel gave a grim smile and asked, “Do you think that I am a three-year-old girl? How could you say that she is my sister just by looking at a picture? I really do not know who put you up to this.”

Darren was not angry at all. The corners of his mouth curved upwards as he took out a test result from the envelope. “This is the DNA test result. It does not matter whether you believe me or not. I have some of your sister’s hair here, so you can do the DNA test again. Or I can give you her address and you can get a sample of her hair yourself. After the DNA test, you will know whether she is your family or not,” Darren said in a neutral tone.

A lot of people from the Xu Family were searching for Michelle, and in the beginning, many people had come to Rita. David had had no choice but to give a few strands of Rita’s hair to his family members and relatives to save time. As a result, it was not strange for Darren to have a lock of Rita’s hair.

Ariel threw a glance at the DNA result and began to believe Darren a little bit. What was more, Ariel thought that as a professional secret agent, it would be easy for her to get someone’s hair to do the DNA test again.

“Don’t you want to know your birth secret?” asked Darren. Darren did not care about Ariel’s impression of him or how she felt about him at all. He only cared about whether Ariel would believe his words or not.

Darren knew how eager Ariel was to know about her own birth secret as she had spent almost 20 years being a part of a cruel organization without family and friends.

“Your father used to be a gambler, and he gambled away your sister behind your mother’s back. Those people had been planning to take your sister away to sell her organs. But your sister overheard the conversation between them, so she brought you to the spot where your father had an appointment with the human trafficker. Then, you were sold to them!”

Darren spoke in a calm voice as he took out the pictures of Grant negotiating with the human trafficker to support his claims. There were many pictures showing the money and the scene of Grant losing money at a gambling house.

“I know you do not believe what I said, but you will once you see this picture,” he added. Darren took out another picture from the envelope and gave it to Ariel.

“You know better than anyone who the man in this picture is,” he said.

This was an old picture of Grant negotiating with a dealer in the gambling house. Behind the dealer was a young man carrying a bale of money. And that young man was none other than Ariel’s master—Agni!

“This is my master!” Ariel picked up the picture and looked at it carefully.

The picture had no signs of digital manipulation and the date indicated that it had been taken many years ago.

Perhaps it had been taken out of the archive of some organization.

“This is the contract that your father signed with the human trafficker. Your master gave it to me.” Darren put the last file in front of Ariel and his cold eyes glimmered maliciously.

Ariel took the contract and read it carefully. The names of Grant and Rita, the trading time and the price, and even the fingerprint at the bottom of the paper were extremely clear on the contract.

“I trust your ability to tell if something is real or fake. Your father was once detained by the police for gambling, so I think you can find his fingerprint there.

Then, you can make a comparison of the two fingerprints. If you find that I am telling the truth, come back to me, and then we will talk about the mission.”

Darren crossed his hands and looked at Ariel with a faint smile.

“Why would my master give these to you?” Ariel’s black eyes stared closely at Darren as if she wanted to see through him. Soon, Darren’s cold and low voice broke the silence in the room.

“RT Organization was founded in 1976 and it has trained 136 secret agents till now. Your alias is Ariel and your master is Agni. You joined the organization 20 years ago. Your first objective after you joined was training. Only one person out of a thousand could live through the training, but you were the one who made it through the training out of two thousand others. In order to survive, you even killed and ate your own horse.”

Darren spoke in a casual way as if he was talking about today’s weather. Only Ariel could really feel what a terrible life she had lived through.

“This is the tenth year you have been serving RT Organization and my mission is No. 2000 for you. But you may not know that the last mission for every secret agent is the same. It is to search for their own birth secret, and then take revenge for themselves!” said Darren. ‘Take revenge…’ Ariel repeated to herself.

What simple words they were for Ariel as she heard them every day. However, it sounded so sharp at this moment.

‘The cruelty of an organization like RT is limitless. Every secret agent I have ever met hopes to finish their last mission and become a free man again to live a simple and happy life. But…’ Ariel mocked in her mind.

Now, Ariel finally understood why her master had chosen to stay in the organization even after completing his last mission when Ariel was very young.

Also, Ariel finally understood why many secret agents would vanish into the air for no reason, even though they had completed their last missions but did not come back to RT.

Most secret agents in RT came from families that had either hurt or neglected them. Since they had no other place to call home outside of RT, they had no choice but to continue serving the organization.

Ariel could not help but have a bitter smile on her face. She had been dreaming of finding her family and reuniting with them after completing her last mission. But now, it seemed like her dreams were nothing but a big joke.

“How did you come to know all of this?” After quite a while, Ariel finally drew herself back from sorrow and looked at Darren disbelievingly.

“Because I am one of the leaders of RT Organization. Actually, I am not your client. I am the one who helps you to find out the truth. RT Organization always knows where your families are but they keep giving you the illusion of hope so that you’ll feel even more disappointed after you find out the truth!” Darren smiled faintly and something quickly flashed through his eyes which Ariel failed to catch.

“Your parents have passed away. Don’t you want to ask Rita why she would be so cruel as to give you to a human trafficker?”

Darren rolled his wheelchair towards the computer and found a video. “This is Rita. The man beside her is her husband and the child is their son. What a happy family!”

‘They really are happy! And even I will not deny that I envy them!’ Darren added to himself in his mind.

“If she had not put you in her place that day, you would be the one standing there with your happy family!” He kept goading Ariel. All the pictures and videos of Rita’s family flashed on the screen in front of Ariel.

‘Rita? Why would she have such a happy family? Why not me?’ Ariel could not help asking herself in mind.

Hatred grew in Ariel’s heart and all her hopes and expectations turned into poisonous feelings!

“What do you want me to do?” asked Ariel.

Although filled with hatred in her heart, Ariel still maintained a composed disposition. Before taking the mission, Ariel had done some research about Darren. David was Rita’s husband but he was also Darren’s brother. They had even fought against each other to be the heir apparent of the Xu Family. Therefore, it would not be so hard for Darren to help Ariel find her family.

In some twisted way, both Darren and Ariel were just making use of each other.

“You are smarter than you look!” Darren gave a warm smile, even though malice flashed through his eyes. He continued in a low voice, “My request is very simple. You need to help another woman to break Rita and David’s relationship. David has made me unhappy all my life, so it is time for me to take an eye for an eye, right?”

Darren’s voice was gentle but Ariel could clearly sense the darkness of his soul in his eyes.

‘What on earth happened between you and your brother? Why would you hate your own brother so much that you would choose to treat him like this?’ Ariel felt very confused about it. Regardless of Darren’s reasoning, Ariel accepted the mission because of Rita. Although Rita may not have hated her, she was still the one who had given her to the human trafficker.
