“Of course I’ll ask Dr. Skyworth to help. I can still afford to pay a measly twenty million,” Alex stated with a confident smile.

Jacob wanted to keep arguing with Alex, but Brian put a stop to it. After that, Brian grinned at Tyrael and said. “Dr. Skyworth, please give me a minute. I need to talk to my mother before I can let you know about the payment. Please don’t get into any arrangement with that punk in the meantime.”

It was crucial for the Jenningses to get Tyrael to cure Lucas as Brian didn’t want to lose the opportunity to get the shares back.

Twenty million was rather heavy for them at that moment. However, they could still bite the bullet and survive through the momentary financial hardship, especially if it meant getting their shares back.

Still, with such an enormous sum involved, Brian had to report to his mother. If she didn’t agree to it, Brian would not be able to do anything about it.

Tyrael got the message that Alex’s eyes were sending, so the former nodded. “Okay, I’ll wait for a few minutes, but you should know that this kid is rather sincere as well. He is willing to pay me twenty. million.”

If the Jenningses were the ones who murdered someone else, the police would’ve arrested them and given them the death penalty.

Those thoughts frightened Jacob, and he no longer dared to mess with Alex.

Brian, on the other hand, was more worried about how Tyrael might agree to help Alex out. If that were to happen, Heather would not be indebted to the Jenningses.

As such, Brian wasted no time and walked to the side immediately to call Demi.

“Dr. Skyworth is asking for twenty million to save Lucas, mom. Alex is here to ask the doctor to help too. He’s willing to pay the doctor twenty million,” reported Brian directly as soon as the line was established.

“Twenty million?” blurted Demi, who was at home. She immediately frowned upon hearing that. Twenty million was a heavy price for the Jenningses at that moment.

“That’s right. Dr. Skyworth said that Alex was willing to pay twenty million to help Lucas. I suspect that the doctor wouldn’t help us even if we match Alex’s offer,” informed Brian.

Silence dragged on for a moment on the other side of the line. After that, Demi instructed, “Offer the doctor twenty-two million. Do not let that loser, Alex, hire the doctor. We must get our hands on that favor. Only then will Heather owe us and ask the new chairman to sell the company’s shares back to us!”

Tyrael received the message and nodded. He was courteous and would’ve gotten up to walk Alex out, but he didn’t do so at the time as Tyrael didn’t want Brian and Jacob to suspect that something was off.

“Alright, I will go to the hospital with the two of you tomorrow morning,” said Tyrael to Brian after Alex had left.

“Thank you, Dr. Skyworth. We will pay you regardless of whether your treatment is successful. We will transfer twenty million over tonight, then pay the remaining two million tomorrow,” said Brian.

“That’s fine,” replied Tyrael, who then gave Brian his bank account number.
