Kate Goes To Alex

“I’m in a bad mood today. Get some rest.” Alex pushed Heather away and walked out of the bedroom.

Heather stared blankly at Alex’s retreating figure as she became sober. Only then did she realize that it was the first time Alex refused her in so many years of their marriage.

Her heart hurt at the thought of his ruthless expression when he pushed her away.

Alex had always doted on her and listened to whatever she said until today when she discovered that he did not love her as much as before.

It was as if he became a distant stranger to her.

Heather sat on her bed, allowing herself to immerse in her conflicting emotions.

When she discovered that the person who loved her the most became aloof, she was too emotional to realize that she was the one who drove him away by betraying him in the first place.

“B*stard! You piece of leeching trash! Go to hell!”

After smashing her pillow on the bed like a madwoman, she eventually broke down in tears and cried herself to sleep.

In the following days, Alex and Heather were still not talking to each other.

At times, Heather wasn’t even willing to eat what Alex prepared for dinner.

Besides working, Alex spent the rest of his time with his son and didn’t show any concern for Heather.

As for Carmen and Lucas, Heather gave them jobs at the company so that they would keep their mouths shut about Alex.

Alex hadn’t felt so peaceful in a long time.

Love sure was a funny thing. When in love, people couldn’t stand being away from their lovers, even for just a day. But when lovers fell out, they had no issues living without each other.

By now, Alex already made peace with the cold war between them and was prepared to give up marriage, but Heather was merely angry at him for not coming to her.

The wait lasted for a month, but Alex still showed no sign of wanting to reconcile with her.

One day after work, Alex was going to pick up Stanley from school when he got a call from Kate.

“Where are you now?” Kate’s tone was icy.

“Come to my house at once, or you will pay for it!” Kate demanded in a flat tone and hung up.

He didn’t understand why she suddenly wanted to meet him, but he decided to drop by her house because of the hostility in her voice.

When Heather received Alex’s call, she thought that he wanted to reconcile with her.

However, when she heard that he was only asking her to pick up Stanley from angrily.

Trusting Heather to pick up Stanley, Alex headed to the location Kate sent. In no time, he arrived at the destination.
