Outside The Bar…
Mr. Herman held the backseat door of the car open, grinning from ear to ear. Have a great night, Mr. Harrison. I hope we have many more collaborations in the future.”
Lucas sat inside the car.
As the driver was about to kick off the engine, Amanda reported from the passenger seat. “Mr. Harrison, the pilot notified me that the weather is good, and we can return to Phoenix City tonight.”
Lucas’s mind strayed to that familiar figure. His eyes were closed, seemingly lost in his thoughts.
He couldn’t have mistaken, right?
She was definitely Heidi.
“Mr. Harrison, is everything alright?” Amanda asked, wondering if he didn’t hear her report.
Lucas opened his eyes. About to answer Amanda’s question, but what he first saw astounded him. Through the car’s front window, three ladies walked out of the bar and Heidi was among them.
His instincts were right. He hadn’t been hallucinating.
Lucas straightened up, his narrowed eyes fixed on her. A man accompanied them, and he held open the door of the car for Heidi. Heidi flashed him a smile before entering the car.
Shortly, the car drove off with that man riding it.
An unknown fury compounded Lucas’s chest and his eyes became sharper, narrowing into slits.
“M-Mr. Harrison,” Amanda stammered, shuddering inside at the sudden suppressing air inside the car.
“Follow that car!” Lucas commanded.
The driver was confused. “Which car, Mr. Harrison?”
“Can’t you see the car ahead of us?” Lucas sounded irritated. “Follow it, now!”
His harsh command made the driver fiddle with the car keys as he started the engine.
“Mr. Harrison, where are we going?” Amanda asked, looking confused.
“Go back to Phoenix City alone. I have some business to deal with.”
Wondering what kind of business it was, and daring not to question the sudden furious man, Amanda scrambled out of the car, bidding him goodbye.
“See you in Phoenix City, Mr. Harrison. I will take care of the-”
The car zoomed off, halting Amanda’s farewell speech.
Lucas’s eyes never left the car driving ahead. In no time, they arrived at an almost empty area.
Crescent Avenue: It was among the top- rated residential areas at GreyHills. ‘ What is Heidi doing in this place?’
“Slow down,” Lucas commanded the driver aş both cars were very close. The driver soon pulled over at the side of the road, while the other car stopped in front of one of the Villas.

That same man came out and held the car’s door open for Heidi. The other two ladies left the car on their own.
Heidi, once again, flashed him a smile. They spoke for some time and he took Heidi’s phone and typed something into it.
The man seemed to be exchanging contact with her.
Very soon, he went back to his car, and the ladies waved him goodbye including Heidi. If looks could destroy, Lucas’s hard glare could make the man’s car explode.
As Steve took a reverse and drove past, Lucas saw his side profile and his fists clenched involuntarily. The driver peeked through the rearview mirror, shuddering at Lucas’s dangerous expression.
Grasping the situation, he cleared his throat and said, “Mr. Harrison, Mr. Anderson is a reputable businessman in GreyHills City. He is very popular as a tech genius. So normally, women throw themselves at him. But I have heard rumors that he frequents this area, although the reason isn’t clear.”
“Be silent!” Lucas was only more irritated, hearing the guy’s identity
Did Heidi have a knack for snagging rich men?
It was as if his heart would burst out.
Lucas took in a deep breath and brought out his phone. “Be quick about it. Crescent Avenue. I need a Villa, tonight.”
The Next Morning.
Heidi hadn’t even woken up yet when Kate barged into the room.
“Rise and shine, Sleepyhead. Let’s go jogging.”
“Huh? Why?” Heidi sat up and rubbed her eyes.
“Don’t tell me you’ve never hit the gym for once.” Kate sat beside her, holding her shoulders and giving her an anxious look. “Damnit! Heidi, it’s not fair. How then did you manage to keep this shape.”
“It’s natural. Leave me alone, Kate.” Heidi lay back down and buried her head in the pillow.
“Hell, you’ve got to to wake up. Accompany me at least. Otherwise, I won’t go jogging today, and my manager’s gonna kill me!”
Kate’s voice was so loud, chasing Heidi’s sleep away.
She pushed her into the bathroom, brought her sportswear, and then pulled her out of the bedroom.
Heidi found Isla wearing the same sportswear and rubbing her sleepy eyes. “Good morning, Ms. Olsen.” Isla yawned.
“Come on, girls! We’ve gotta leave before the sun rises!”
Kate was full of energy, clapping her hands and pushing them out of the Villa.
Heidi felt a sense of dread especially when Kate asked them to jog faster, but not as dreadful as when Lucas Harrison, who was also wearing sportswear, jogged over to them.
Was she having hallucinations?
