- Season 1 Episode 63 - A Familiar Figure
At the center of GreyHills City, where the traffic was high and the streetlights shone as the day, was an enormous Bar.
A sleek black car pulled over, and a man jumped out of the passenger seat and held the back door open.
“Mr. Harrison, I hope you won’t turn down an invitation for a nightlong fun.”
“I came here for business.” Lucas looked displeased. “Where can I meet Mr. Herman.”
“Mr. Herman is in there. You see…”
The man put on a hesitant look. “Mr. Herman manages this bar and is always around to keep a close watch on it. Don’t worry, a private booth is specifically reserved for you. The good news is that it is soundproof and you won’t be disturbed by the music coming from downstairs.”
Since the client didn’t want any fun, the man quickly dropped the topic like a hot potato.
Lucas followed him into the bar, and Amanda followed behind, whispering, Those properties are very good and will bring in a lot of cash. Mr. Harrison, we will gain more profit by investing in them.”
“I won’t let my investment money go to just anyone. Tone down your excitement, otherwise, they might think we’re desperate.”
“Oh, I understand.” Amanda quickly nodded, retaining a professional look.
The man at the front didn’t know what they were saying, despite straining his ears to listen to the conversation.
They took the elevator and walked past some booths before stopping at one.
Mr. Herman was literally jumping in excitement. He chased all the girls out of the booth and used his hankie to clean the couch.
“It’s a great pleasure to meet you, Mr. Harrison. I hope you can overlook my lack of professionalism. As you must have already known, this bar is run solely by me so I wasn’t opportuned to accompany you for the sightseeing of the properties.”
“How did you see them? I hope they have lived up to your expectations. Mr. Harrison, let me tell you, in the whole of GreyHills, no property is as good as those. Their major advantage is they are very close to the new beach and attract a lot of tourists, therefore…”
As Mr. Herman blabbered on, not giving them a chance to speak, Lucas’s phone rang. He answered it instantly, cutting off Mr. Herman’s explanation.
“I went to your company but you weren’t there, Lucas. I’ve been at your Villa since morning too… Where are you? I hope everything’s alright, I’m so worried.” Tracy’s voice was soft with a hint of anxiousness.
Lucas replied, “I’m on a business trip, at GreyHills City.”

Lucas sent a furtive glance outside, and his eyes sighted a familiar figure. The phone almost slipped from his hand and he accidentally ended the call.
“Mr. Harrison, is everything alright?” Amanda noticed his odd behavior. “Mr. Herman is explaining the benefits and risks of investing in those properties.”
“I’m listening.” Lucas regained himself, thinking he must have seen wrong.
Inside The Opposite Booth.
Kate took off her face mask and let out a huge sigh of relief. “Ah, she almost caught me.”
“Why are you scared of your manager, Ms. Anderson?” Isla asked.
“I’m not scared of her. She’s simply very strict,” Kate replied.
A staff walked in and Kate ordered, ” Bring us the finest bottles of wines – I mean the strongest. We, young ladies, are on a mission to knock ourselves out tonight!”
“I’ll bring you the usuals, Ms. Anderson.” The staff winked at her and left.
Very soon, he returned with a tray full of wine bottles. As he poured them a glass each, Heidi waved her hand.
“Please exclude me. I’ll pass.”
“What!?” Kate exclaimed. “Come on, Heidi. We’re here to have fun. Don’t tell me you’re afraid of drinking.”
“Not really. It just doesn’t go well with my system.”
“For my sake, you’ve got to drink even if it’s one sip. Here, this one isn’t as strong as the others.” Kate poured her a glass, not giving her a chance to decline. “You know, you remind me so much of a particular laid-back guy.”
The door opened at that moment.
A tall man dressed in a gray business suit appeared. Seemingly in his late twenties or early thirties, he exuded charm and elegance.
