“Sure.” Su Yu nodded.

Huo Mian had stated things very clearly, so if he continued to go easy on her, he would seem a bit too petty.

Su Yu knew that Huo Mian had a high IQ, so she would still win even if he didn’t go easy on her…

“Let’s begin,” Huo Mian said as she looked at the dealer.

The dealer put on white gloves and began to deal cards to the two; the rules of this variant of blackjack were simple.

Each person was dealt one card at a time, and whoever gets closer to 20 without passing it wins. Of course, the closer it was to 20, the better.

If they went over, then they would lose, but they could choose whether or not they wanted another card…

The dealer first dealt a card to Su Yu, and Su Yu immediately showed it on the table. It was a red heart nine.

The dealer then dealt one to Huo Mian, revealing a black heart six.

Su Yu said, “Hit me.”

The dealer passed another card, which was a seven. The sum of seven and nine was sixteen, which was already very close to twenty.

The dealer then passed one to Huo Mian, which turned out to be a ten. Ten and six makes sixteen as well, making her very close to twenty.

Zhu Lingling’s heart began to race as she watched, but of course, she was praying that Huo Mian could win.

The dealer looked at both of them, and then he asked Su Yu, “Another hit?”

“Hit me…” said Su Yu calmly.

The dealer dealt another card. It was a king. In this version of blackjack, all the face cards and aces counted for 1 point each, so Su Yu now had seventeen.

The dealer continued to ask Huo Mian, “Another hit?”

“Yes.” Huo Mian was also very calm.

Those around them were all rattled up, as they felt nervous for the two.

The dealer passed Huo Mian a three. Sixteen and three immediately made it to 19 points.

Zhu Lingling was overwhelmed with excitement, as she pulled onto Gao Ran’s collar and said, “Our girl will win for sure.”

“Hey, I can see. I’m not blind, okay?” Gao Ran looked helpless, as Zhu Lingling’s pull wrinkled his collar.

The dealer looked at Su Yu. “Would you like another hit?”

“Of course.” Su Yu was also filled with confidence.

“But you’re already at 17, sir. If you continue, then you might go bust,” the dealer kindly warned.

“My opponent is already at 19 points. If I don’t continue, then I would still lose, so I might as well take a gamble.”

The dealer fell silent and continued to deal to Su Yu…

Su Yu looked at it once, and then he gave his bad boy smile. Everyone around was overwhelmed with excitement the second he showed his cards…

It was a three, and seventeen plus three just happened to be 20 points.

“My gosh, how could it really be 20 points? Young Master Su sure is lucky.”

“Yea, how amazing is that? I even thought that he would lose for sure with those cards.”

Rounds of discussions rolled through the crowd…

“That’s it, our girl is going to lose… I think I danced for victory a little prematurely.” Zhu Lingling became upset.

“That’s normal, you should relax. It would be better if she loses, or else, did you want to see the couple fight against each other for the final prize?” Gao Ran smiled and comforted Lingling.

“You do have a point there.”

The dealer looked at Huo Mian, and asked, “Would you like another hit?”

The truth was, Huo Mian still wanted to take a bet, because if she received a jack, queen, king, or ace, which were all worth one point, and then she would have 20 points.

It was also okay if she went bust since she was going to lose anyway.

Zhu Lingling thought that Huo Mian would definitely take a bet, given her adventurous personality…

However, she didn’t this time…

She looked at the cards, and immediately said, “I’ve lost.”

Then, she pushed all of the chips to Su Yu, and elegantly stood up to leave…

Su Yu flipped over the card in the dealer’s hands with some hesitance and noticed that the next card was an ace, which meant that if Huo Mian continued, she wouldn’t have lost…

He somewhat knew of Huo Mian’s personality. She shouldn’t have given up, since any of the jack, queen, king, or ace cards would’ve worked, which was a fairly high probability.

At this thought, Su Yu got up and chased over…

He stopped Huo Mian…

“What do you want?” Huo Mian looked at Su Yu.

“You said that we would compete fair and square, why did you lose on purpose?” asked Su Yu upsettingly.

“I didn’t. I lost, and that’s the end of that.”

“That’s impossible, you should’ve betted again. Did you know that the next card was an ace?”

“But I don’t want to bet anymore, I thought I was losing,” Huo Mian said as she crossed her arms around her chest.

“That’s impossible, that’s not your style…”

“Don’t say it as if you know me very well,” Huo Mian looked at Su Yu in all serious, sounding a little impolite.

“Tell me why you did this. You must have a reason.” Su Yu was quite persistent and demanded a reason.

“If you want a reason, then fine. I’ll tell you, listen carefully…” Huo Mian said as she helplessly put her arms down.
