Huo Mian shook her head, “No, my mom is suffering from poor health, so she won’t be able to take the hit. I don’t think she knows, she’s been thinking that I’m her biological daughter this whole time. I’m afraid she won’t be able to handle the truth. I’m not planning to tell Zhixin either. I’m afraid it will ruin our relationship, and we would never be able to go back. Besides, I haven’t found my biological parents yet. I’d rather tell them when the time comes.”

“You’ve grown to be so beautiful…” For the first time, she complimented Huo Mian.

The weasel goes to pay his respect to the hen – not with the best intentions. Huo Mian thought to herself.

“I don’t like to go around in circles. Just tell me what you want.”

“Consider yourself lucky that my mother wants to speak to you, just shut up and listen.” Huo Yanyan glared at Huo Mian grumpily.

Huo Yanyan was never in agreement when her mother proposed that they should speak to Huo Mian. But given the tight circumstances, Shen Jiani had no other choice but to hope that she could find a breakthrough with her.

“Mian, I might’ve done wrong in the past, I hope you don’t mind. Yanyan is younger than you and is technically your little sister, so you don’t have to stoop down to her level. She’s got a very straightforward personality, so please excuse her.”

“Being direct and speaking ill are two different things. I don’t think I need to pardon her. After all… there’s not many fellowships to speak of.”

” I don’t need you to pardon me, who the hell do you think you are…?” Huo Yanyan said angrily.

Shen Jiani immediately pressed her down before she could go off…

“Yanyan, sit. What did I tell you when we got here? I told you to get along with your big sister, right?” Shen Jiani pretended to snap at Huo Yanyan.

Huo Yanyan angrily turned her head to the side…

Shen Jiani then smiled and said, “Mian, I came looking for you because I’m out of options. I really hope that you can help us. Huo Siqian’s been attacking us quite frequently recently, and he already forced Siyi to the Philippines. The environment there is tough, and a kid like him has never lived like that. He can’t possibly take it. Your father can’t do much to transfer him back since he’s limited by the board of directors and there are just too many interests involved. What’s worse is that Huo Siqian has been bringing his own people into the company.”

“So? What can I do?” Huo Mian took a sip of water and asked.
