After Shen Qi walked out of the office, she returned to her workstation. She only realized that her fingers were trembling when she held the mouse in her hands. She couldn’t even hold it properly.

What was wrong with her? Shouldn’t she be accustomed to Ye Moxuan’s words by now? It was obvious that he had a bad impression of her. However, she couldn’t help but overthink sometimes.

If he really hated her, then why did he have to help her all the time?

All the things he did for her flashed across her mind at the moment.

Every time, they would part ways on an unhappy note. That was because Ye Moxuan would always say some nasty words, just like just now…

Shen Qi lowered her head. There was a hint of self-ridicule in her eyes.

She was being absurd! If he really wanted to help her, he wouldn’t say all those hurtful words to her in front of everyone. He was right. It was his decision to refuse to cooperate with Lu Group. Back then in the clothes boutique, he helped her because he did not wish for her to embarrass the Ye Family’s name.

Suddenly, she felt some pain from her tummy, and that caused her face to turn pale. She sat upright and reached out her hand to stroke her tummy. Suddenly, she thought of something.

She was a pregnant woman now!

Recently, her morning sickness had disappeared, and that caused her to forget all about her child. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone to the bar to drink.

She really was a careless person. Shen Qi stood up and went to the pantry to pour herself a glass of warm water to drink. However, the pain did not dissipate. Although it wasn’t that serious, she still felt uncomfortable. Shen Qi sat there for a while and realized that the pain was not getting any more serious. Hence, she thought that everything was alright.

However, she never expected that her pain would increase in intensity in the evening. Just as Shen Qi was wondering whether she should take leave, Xiao Su suddenly came looking for her.

“Assistant Shen, these are the plans that needed to be sent to the planning department. Can you take it to them?”

“O-Ok.” Shen Qi reached out her hand and took it from him after much difficulty.

Only then did Xiao Su notice that her face looked sickly pale. He frowned slightly and said, “Assistant Shen, you don’t look too good. Are you sick?”

When she heard this, Shen Qi shook her head. “I am fine.”

“Are you sure?” Xiao Su asked her doubtfully. “Even your lips look pale.”

When Shen Qi heard this, she took out her lipstick and added some color to her lips.

Xiao Su was speechless.

What the f*ck? She looked sickly just now. After she put on a touch of makeup, the garish red of her lips contrasted sharply with her pale face. It was really terrifying to look at.

“I will go and deliver it now.” Shen Qi put down her lipstick and picked up the documents. Then, she forced herself to walk downstairs.

“However, when I asked her about it, she told me she was fine. I don’t know what is wrong with her. Doesn’t she know how to speak up if she feels unwell?”

Xiao Su was talking to himself for quite some time. When he realized that nobody was responding to him, he finally reacted. Coincidentally, when he cast his gaze toward Ye Moxuan, Ye Moxuan happened to lift his head as his cold gaze fell upon his face directly.

“Don’t you have anything better to do?”

She wanted to apply for leave from Ye Moxuan. However, when she thought about his cold face and ruthless words, she decided to forget about it.

He was already dissatisfied with her, and now she wished to apply for leave? She was pretty sure that he wouldn’t agree to it.

There was still one hour to go before she could get off work. Hence, she decided to endure it for a while.

In the end, Shen Qi lay on her desk in pain. She nearly fell into a deep sleep. Fortunately, Ye Moxuan did not ask her to do anything else throughout this one hour. Hence, she could lie on her table in peace.

After much difficulty, she managed to endure the pain until the time came for her to get off work. Shen Qi packed her things up almost immediately as she got up from her seat and left after much difficulty.

Coincidentally, she bumped into Ye Moxuan, who happened to come out from his office. Shen Qi pretended not to see him as she allowed him to get into the elevator first. On the other hand, she waited for the second one.

After what seemed like eternity, the elevator finally arrived. Shen Qi rode the elevator downstairs and arrived at the office entrance. She could feel the stabbing pain in her abdomen, hence she couldn’t help but crouch down at the moment as she could not endure it anymore.

Shen Qi crouched at the roadside and gave Han Xueyou a call.

After a while, Han Xueyou answered her phone.

“Qi?”

“Xueyou…” Shen Qi’s voice was weak and that nearly caused Han Xueyou to jump in fright. “What’s wrong with you?”

“I… I have some discomfort in my tummy. I am at the entrance of my company, can you…”

“Wait there. I will come over immediately.”

Shen Qi wanted to say something else, but the other party hung up the phone in a hurry. She glanced at the screen of her handphone for a moment, as her pale lips curved upward.

Shen Qi opened her mouth and wanted to say something. However, the pain in her lower abdomen increased. As such, the words that were about to leave her lips turned into a painful moan. Ye Moxuan’s gaze changed dramatically as he ordered Xiao Su, “Drag her into the car!”

Xiao Su came forward and helped her up. Shen Qi got into the car and sat down with his help. Following that, Ye Moxuan got into the car as well as he shut the door.

“Assistant Shen, you look very sick. Just now when I asked you whether you were alright, why didn’t you tell me? Why did you have to drag it on till now?” Xiao Su asked in a gossipy manner.

When Ye Moxuan heard this, he looked at Shen Qi.

Her petite face was already drained of color as her forehead was beaded with cold sweat. He could make out that she had been enduring it for quite some time with just a single glance.

“I… am fine,” Shen Qi answered weakly. At the moment, her handphone rang. Just as she was planning to take it out, her vision suddenly turned dark as her entire body fell forward.
