The maid was stunned.

“Young Master Moxuan, I’m telling the truth! The Second Young Lady really seduced Young Master Linhan. Don’t you believe me?”

Ye Moxuan stared at her with his pitch-black eyes. “Did anyone else see that besides you?”

The maid thought that Ye Moxuan was convinced, so she shook her head. “I was the only one there just now. But I swear I saw it, Young Master Moxuan!”

Upon hearing that, Ye Moxuan gave her a taunting smile. “Which means that you’re the only witness so no one can testify to your words.”

Only then did the maid understand what Ye Moxuan meant. “Young Master Moxuan, I—”

“Did you concoct the story out of jealousy?”

Ye Moxuan’s eyes were spookily black; it was as if they could see right into her soul, and her dark and ugly thoughts would be revealed. Feeling like she had been exposed, the maid started to feel flustered.

“Young Master Moxuan, I honestly didn’t lie to you. Please believe me!”

“Really?” Ye Moxuan sneered. “Why should I trust a maid instead of my own wife?”

Looking at the menacing smile on Ye Moxuan’s face, the maid started to regret everything. Initially, she noticed that Ye Moxuan ignored Shen Qi and treated her like she was invisible; that was why she had the guts to scheme. She thought that Ye Moxuan would agree with her if she framed Shen Qi.

Unexpectedly, Ye Moxuan reacted differently.

“You soiled her shirt,” Ye Moxuan spoke in a firm tone, not asking a question.

At once, the maid panicked. How did things turn out this way?

“Young Master Moxuan, I—”

“We don’t need a cunning, irresponsible maid like you in the Ye Family.” Ye Moxuan raised his eyes and looked at the maid with a dead stare. “If I ever hear any nonsense coming from you outside in the future, I’m sure you know the consequences.”

At that moment, the lift arrived, and Ye Moxuan entered the lift himself. Feeling weak in the knees, the maid plopped onto the ground lifelessly.

Meanwhile, after Shen Qi went to change her clothes, she saw the man’s blazer she had placed by one side.

After pondering for a bit, she picked it up and decided to return it to Ye Linhan. However, she noticed that the suit was soiled as soon as she picked it up, so it wasn’t appropriate to return it to him in that condition.

Therefore, Shen Qi went to find a bag to pack the blazer. She would send it for dry-cleaning when she had the time before returning it to its owner.

After she found a bag to put the blazer in, Shen Qi left the house.

Recently, she had been taking public transport to work. When she arrived at the office as usual, she cleaned the office before she returned to her desk.

When it was time, Ye Moxuan and Xiao Su came in on time. Upon hearing their arrival, Shen Qi shot a glance at Ye Moxuan.

His expression remained indifferent, ignoring her as usual.

Shen Qi averted her gaze, and she gripped the pen in her hand hard subconsciously.

After that, she delivered documents once and served coffee twice to Ye Moxuan, yet he didn’t pay attention to her at all.

In the afternoon, when Shen Qi went to the cafeteria for lunch, she overheard a discussion.

“Hey, have you heard? I think Ye Group is terminating their collaboration with Lu Group.”

“Really? Why are they suddenly ending such an important collaboration?”

“I heard that it’s Young Master Ye’s decision. He announced it during the morning meeting.”

Upon hearing that, Shen Qi paused. It was decided during the morning meeting? Was there a meeting in the morning? Why didn’t I know about that?

“Young Master Ye’s decision? Will Old Master Ye agree?”

“I don’t know what’s going on. It’s quite unusual for Young Master Ye to do that. Why did he terminate the collaboration with Lu Group so suddenly? It’s rather strange.”

Shen Qi shoved some greens into her mouth, but she couldn’t make herself swallow.

Her heart felt sour, and she recalled what Ye Moxuan had said last night after Lu Xunchang fell to the floor after being kicked when he was pestering her. Are you begging my assistant to collaborate with your company by offering such a generous bow, President Lu? Unfortunately, even if you kneel and beg my assistant, Ye Group will not collaborate with a detestable company like Lu Group.

She remembered that he had told her to contact Lu Xunchang before attending the banquet, so obviously, he also attached great importance to the project. But, he suddenly terminated the collaboration.

Shen Qi didn’t dare to think any further. Since she had completely lost her appetite, she picked up her plate and went back upstairs.

The office was silent when Shen Qi knocked on the door.

“Come in.” Ye Moxuan’s voice was still cold and flat.

After taking a deep breath, Shen Qi pushed the door and went in.

Ye Moxuan didn’t even lift his head, paying full attention to his laptop.

He was still working, and there was nothing left in the coffee cup that was placed on his table. Obviously, he hadn’t taken his lunch. After pondering for a moment, Shen Qi decided to remind him that it was lunch time. However, when Ye Moxuan looked up and noticed that it was her, he raised his eyebrow and tapped his finger on the table. “Refill my coffee.”

Ye Moxuan stopped what he was doing and squinted at Shen Qi dangerously.

Shen Qi felt chills run down her spine under his sharp gaze, so she could only stutter as she explained, “A-As your assistant, I’m responsible to remind you about that.”

“Pfft! Are you pretending to care about me? Is this one of your tricks?” Ye Moxuan taunted her, his remarks dripping with sarcasm.

Enraged by his words, Shen Qi bit her lower lip and wanted to refute. However, when she thought of the collaboration with Lu Group, she felt that she needed to get an answer.

“I heard that there was a meeting in the morning.”

Ye Moxuan didn’t reply to her.

“The collaboration with Lu Group—”

“What? Did you think that I terminated the collaboration with Lu Group because of you?”

“I—”

“Stop overthinking.” Ye Moxuan snorted coldly. “Lu Xunchang is a fickle person and this is a long-term project; he is not suitable for this.”

So it wasn’t because of her.

Shen Qi finally let out a sigh of relief.

If she was the reason behind that decision, she would feel very guilty.

“So what does this have to do with a mere assistant like you?” Ye Moxuan sneered while looking at her mockingly. “You think too highly of yourself.”

Shen Qi bit her lower lip. “I do not.”

“You don’t? Then why were you so hesitant to speak since you came in here? Weren’t you trying to ask about this?”
