New Romance in Marriage - Season 1 Episode 8
Pack Your Things
Paige looked at the clock on the wall. It was 11:00 AM.
She had been asleep for four hours.
Paige grew nervous at the sight of Chris. It was hard to keep her cool when she was around him.
Chris threw his jacket onto the sofa and loosened his tie as he approached the bed.
“…You’re back,” she said stiffly.
“Yeah,” Chris answered indifferently. He got into bed and drew close to kiss Paige’s lips.
She caught a whiff of the smell of alcohol.
The alcohol mixed with his musk was intoxicating.
Paige tried to push him away. However, Chris mistook her struggling attempts as coy play, and he wás digging it.
After locking lips with Paige, Chris took a shower and went to bed. However, Paige lay wide awake.
She peeked at Chris, who was asleep. With his eyes closed, the man’s piercing gaze was gone, and his facial features softened… What the hell was he thinking? Why had he married her? Was it to get on her sister’s nerves? Was it to uphold the Jewells‘ reputation?
Paige could not figure it out. She did not understand why Chris would consummate the marriage without any qualms. It was as if she was not his ex–fiancée’s sister, but his woman.
She was speechless.
What was she thinking? She should stop her thoughts from wandering off.
Although Paige told herself to stop thinking about it, she could not help herself. The situation.
between her, Sierra, and Chris was constantly on her mind.
By the time Paige woke up in the morning, Chris was no longer in bed. She got out of bed, dressed herself, then went to the bathroom to freshen up. When she walked out of the bathroom, she
found Chris there.
…Morning,” Paige said, her face blushing.
Chris nodded his head. “Come and get some breakfast. After that, we’ll go to your family home to collect your things.”
Suddenly, her appetite was gone.

After much hesitation, Paige said, “I can go home myself to pack my things.”
It felt like a disaster waiting to happen if Chris were to go to her house.
Chris did not answer her. Instead, he turned on his heel and walked out of the bedroom.
Paige could not read Chris‘ mind. So, she followed him and saw breakfast on the dining room table.
The pair sat down and had breakfast in silence.
Since something was weighing on Paige’s mind, she could not eat much. She waited until Chris finished before tidying up. They then went to the lobby to check out.
They left the hotel. Chris drove the car to the entrance, and Paige got in.
Sitting in the front passenger’s seat, she stole a glance at Chris.
At first, Paige was puzzled about the destination. Later, she realized Chris was taking her to the Quirks‘ residence,

-She said nothing to Chris, knowing she could not convince him.
He would not listen to her anyway.
Paige’s heart sank as her house came into view.
She had no idea what she was in for when she arrived home.
However, one thing was for sure–she had a bad feeling about it.
Chris pulled into the Quirks‘ driveway, and once parked, they both sauntered into the villa
Bob was at work, but Sierra and Wendy were home.
“Mom, Sierra,” Paige said hello uneasily.
Paige’s mother and sister had given her clear instructions on her wedding night, but now she and Chris had sealed the deal.
She was dreading facing Wendy and Sierra, but especially Sierra.
Paige glanced at Sierra, who looked haggard. Sierra’s face was pale and drawn, and her thin frame was almost skeletal. Her loose linen dress hung on her like a shroud.
It made Paige feel worse when she saw Sierra in such a state.
Sierra forced a smile and nodded at Paige.
Wendy looked at Paige. She had been there before and could tell Paige was no longer the innocent

Wendy’s eyes, but she suppressed her emotion in Chris‘ presence.
“You’re back,” Wendy said with a smile.
“Yeah.” Paige gave a nod
“Go on upstairs, Paige. Your sister and I need to have a word with Chris,” Wendy said.
Paige glanced at Chris and gave a nod, then went upstairs. The matter between Chris and Sierra was complicated, so the story was far from over.
“Pack your things. I’ve called the moving company, and they’re on their way,” Chris suddenly
uttered.
Paige froze. Standing on top of the staircase, she looked back at Chris.
The color drained from Wendy’s face as she grinned stiffly and asked, “What things?”
“Her clothes and daily essentials,” Chris replied indifferently. “Paige is my wife. She’s going to live
with me at my family home.”
Wendy choked for words.
Sierra stared at Chris with tearful eyes.
Chris ignored Sierra.
Sierra’s behavior made him sick to his stomach.
