New Romance in Marriage - Season 1 Episode 19
Chris nodded his head.
Tanya smiled and said to Paige’s three roommates, “Chris and Ms. Quirk are heading home. How about I take you back to your school?”
“It’s okay. We can take a cab.” Lisa shook her head.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s on the way anyway,” Tanya replied with a grin.
Lisa, Annabelle, and Millie exchanged glances before giving a nod. “Thank you.”
Chris was pleased that Tanya had the girls‘ logistics sorted out. He said to Paige, “Come on.”
Paige was at a loss.
She did not want to return to the Jewells‘ residence. Despite her wish to head back to school and live on campus, Paige did not have the guts to speak her mind. She could only say goodbye to her
roommates and go with Chris.
“We should leave too,” Tanya cheerfully uttered to the group of three.
Lisa, Annabelle, and Millie bobbed their heads.
They followed Tanya into her car.
Tanya drove a Land Rover. The car seemed to fit her personality.
Standing at 5′′7‘, Tanya had shoulder–length hair and minimal makeup. She presented herself as
confident and independent, clearly not the girlie type.
Tanya took the girls back to school. On the way, she received a call from a friend inviting her to a
private party. Tanya chatted on the phone for a bit before agreeing to go.
After hanging up, Tanya asked the girls, “My friend is having a private party. Do you want to come
along?”
Annabelle was in the front passenger’s seat, while Lisa and Millie sat in the back. The girls in the
back seat exchanged looks.
For Tanya to dine at the same table as Chris, she must come from high places too Judging by her
ride, she must be rich.
The rich hung out with the rich.
It would not do the roommates any harm to get acquainted with the wealthy.
“Since we don’t know anybody, I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for us to go uninvited,” Millie probed
Tanya gleefully shook her head. “It’s okay. You’d be with me.”
“Um… I guess we’ll go then,” Lisa said.
Tanya smiled and nodded before turning the car around, onward to a new destination.

Paige got into Chris‘ car. Chris took the wheel, and Paige sat in the front passenger’s seat.
As she looked at the scenery outside the window, her mind drifted off to Tanya’s appearance. If
she was honest, she did not take a good look at Tanya. Somehow, she could not look Tanya in the
eye.
She did not dare check Tanya out for fear of seeing disdain and ridicule in her eyes.
Paige knew it was spineless of her.

The couple arrived home, got out of the car, stepped into the house, and returned to their bedroom.
Chris took off his clothes and went to the bathroom for a shower. Paige sat in bed, believing
Chris’s revenge on her and the Quirks had begun. His supposed plan must be to hurt her to get his
sweet revenge.
It was hard for Chris to savor getting a rise out of Paige if she gave no reaction. Sparks would only fly if Paige engaged with him.
After much thought, Paige felt she had reacted a little too indifferently.
She should be angry, sad, and hurt that her husband enjoyed a romantic candlelight dinner with another woman. Only then could Chris get the kick out of his sweet revenge.
Paige took a deep breath and quickly formed an idea in her head….
It did not take long for Chris to finish his shower. He put on his pajamas and walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair.
Picking up on the sound of footsteps, Paige lifted her head.
Chris paused in motion when he saw tears in Paige’s eyes. His eyes fixed on her.
Was she crying?
He frowned. Why was Paige crying out of the blue?
“Do you like Tanya?” Paige sobbed, tears welling up in her eyes. Her tearful eyes seemed to nag at
him.

Chris was speechless.
So, she was sad to run into his dinner with Tanya.
“We’re just friends,” Chris said.
Paige blinked. The tears streamed down her cheeks, drip by drip.
“That’s what all you men say. Friends? Do friends have dinner alone at fancy restaurants?” Paige
asked.
Paige gave herself the thumbs up. Her acting was flawless.
Perhaps she should give up studying finance and go into acting. A celebrity could earn a lot of
money and fame.
‘Can friends not go to a fancy restaurant together? Chris thought.
“Who says friends can’t have dinner alone at fancy restaurants?” Chris asked.
Paige looked at Chris’s calm and indifferent face, feeling a sudden grievance. She was crying, but Chris did not comfort her. Instead, he tried calmly to reason with her.
It was then Paige realized that Chris did not care about her feelings at all.
She was simply a tool for Chris to take revenge on Sierra and the Quirks.
Paige was feeling miserable now.
She believed she was the innocent party in everything. She had done nothing to anyone, not to the Quirks or Chris. Why did Chris have to use her against her family?
While Paige might have started with fake tears, she was now feeling down for real.
She hung her head low, letting the tears seep into the covers. Soon, a pool of water damped the covers.
