New Romance in Marriage - Season 1 Episode 15
Heartless
Chris watched Paige as she practically ran out of the car. He curled his lips and scoffed.
Talk about heartless.
She could not wait to get away from him, as if he was a monster.
Her desire to live on campus?
Well, she could dream on.
Paige claimed it was all for her studies, but Chris knew better.
Chris saw right through her plans.

Sierra was in a state of disarray during her few days at home.
She dared not step foot out the door.”
The Quirks had invited many guests to the house to help with the bridal party. As Chris had
thrown pictures of Sierra and James on the ground in front of everyone, Sierra knew of the
whispers and the gossip even without leaving the house.
They called her a slut and a cheater, saying she deserved what she got.
Her family, except her mother, blamed her for the near–catastrophe. The Quirks could have made
the Jewells an enemy.
At the time, the only person Sierra could seek comfort with was James. However, he went abroad.
She knew James had left for overseas heartbroken, as she was about to marry Chris.
Sierra could not reach James when she tried to call. Thinking her number had been blocked, she
called James on other phones. The phone operator said that his number was out of service.
So, James‘ phone was turned off…
Was James trying to cut himself off from everything in Hevensford? Would he ever come back?
Sierra’s mind was a mess. She was in a dark place, feeling like she had nothing to live for.
Sierra sat down at her vanity mirror and stared at her reflection. A few days ago, she had been
cheerful and vivacious. Now, she was a shell of her former self.
Her face was gaunt, and her lips were pale. She looked like she had aged years in a matter of days.
She was disoriented and numb, as if there was no point in living.

Sierra suddenly broke down in tears.
She could not understand what had become of her. She was a stranger in her own skin, but she
knew she could not carry on like that. Sierra robotically picked up a skincare product to apply to
her face.

With trembling hands, she took the call and sobbed, “James…”
“I’m sorry. I’m back.” The man’s familiar voice on the phone was soft and gentle.
Sierra was inconsolable.
Sierra and James made plans to meet. She put on makeup and tried to doll herself up, but she
realized that even the best makeup could not hide her haggardness. In the end, she washed off
her makeup and went out bare–faced.
She walked into a café and looked at the man sitting by the window with a cup of coffee. His eyes stared tenderly out the window. Sierra’s flurry heart slowly settled down.
It was all right. Even if Sierra had lost Chris, she still had James.
While James may not be as rich as Chris, he had a tender touch that Chris lacked.
Chris was cold, uncaring, and unaffectionate. He never said sweet things to Sierra. James, on the
other hand, was warm, gentle, and loving. He made Sierra feel like a princess and that she was
loved and protected in his care.
The only things Chris had going for him were his money and connections.
With Sierra losing Chris, she could not lose James too. She had to hold onto James and marry him to show those naysayers she was doing well and happy.
She drew a deep breath and approached James with tear–filled eyes.
“James.” Standing not too far away, Sierra looked at James tearfully.
James turned around and looked at Sierra.
Sierra wore a white dress. Her bare face accentuated her discolored face and red–rimmed eyes.
She exuded a fragile air that was both heartbreaking and captivating.
James stood up and drew close to Sierra. He sighed helplessly in distress and said softly, “What did you do to yourself?”
Unable to take it anymore, Sierra burst into tears.
James gently pulled Sierra into his arms and tenderly said, “Don’t cry, I’m back.”

“James… Sierra held James tightly and cried into his shoulder, She was too embarrassed to cry out loud in public, so she let the tears flow silently, only letting out occasional whimpers. Her tears dampened James’s suit.
Once she had a good cry, James pulled Sierra down to sit on the sofa with him. He drew the curtains closed to create a private space.
“James…” Sierra looked at James through her tears.
James suddenly leaned close and pressed Sierra against the sofa for a kiss.
Sierra clung tight to him.
She and James had hit a home run a long time ago.
James/was usually a gentle and considerate lover. However, when it came to bedroom activities, he was a beast. He would always come on strong and take her to heights of ecstasy.
