New Romance in Marriage - Season 1 Episode 10
Although Sierra was smiling, tears flowed down her cheeks.
Paige’s heart went out to Sierra.
Although Wendy and Bob were not fond of her, Sierra had always been kind to her. Her occasional
concern was the only warmth Paige felt from the household.
Paige stared at Sierra, who was crying, and opened her mouth. She wanted to say so much, but no words came out.
Wendy glared at Paige, tempted to give her a piece of her mind. However, she held it together in front of Chris. She would have plenty of chances to discipline Paige later.
“Come on,” Chris said indifferently.
Paige glanced at Chris before turning to Wendy and Sierra. “I’ve got to go, Mom, Sierra.”
Wendy kept a straight face and said nothing while Sierra nodded in tears.
Paige went off with Chris.
Once outside, Paige looked back through the floor–to–ceiling window to see Sierra throwing herself at Wendy to cry. It looked like Wendy was comforting Sierra.
The Quirks lived in the northern part of the city, while the Jewells lived in the western side. It
was a forty–minute drive to the Jewells‘ residence.
Chris took the wheel, with Paige sat in the front passenger’s seat. The car cruised along the
highway.
Paige’s mind was elsewhere, thinking about the Jewells.
The Jewells were a large and complicated family. Paige had a vague idea of them from Sierra and
Chris’s previous relationship. The head of the Jewell household was Chris’s grandfather, Zander.
Zander had two sons and a daughter. All his children had their own families.
The eldest son was Liam, and the younger son was Frank.
Liam had a daughter and a son, and so did Frank. Chris was Frank’s son.
While Chris was not the firstborn son or grandson, he was the COO of the Jewell Group. He was
expected to take over as CEO once Zander retired Zander was in his seventies, so retirement was likely to be in the next few years.

Compared to the Jewells, the Quirks were a moderately affluent family. Despite the modest
wealth, Dad and Uncle Sam often fought over the family business. Bob was the current general
manager of the company, while Sam was a department*l director. Nevertheless, Bob did not have
a son, but Sam did.
Surely the infighting must be worse in a billion–dollar corporation like the Jewell Group.
Paige had witnessed parents, siblings, and couples turn on each other over assets.
After much consideration, Paige decided to stay in the background of the Jewell family.
She did not want to be caught in the Jewells‘ internal strife. However, her marriage to Chris would
likely make it difficult for her to stay out of it.

Paige could only hope Chris would free her soon.
The Jewells lived in a villa compound developed in the early days. The community consisted of dozens of villas. Although the area had been around for decades, the buildings were well- maintained. The architecture had a sense of history.
The Jewells‘ family home was the largest villa in the neighborhood, located at the back. It was a five–story villa.
Chris pulled up at the parking lot and got out of the car. Paige took a deep breath before stepping
out of the vehicle. Standing by the car, she looked at the aged structure and tried to calm her
nerves.
After taking the suitcase from Paige, Chris walked ahead, and Paige followed him.
“You’re home, sir and madam.” The butler welcomed them with respect.
Paige awkwardly gave a nod.
It was cringe and old–fashioned to address anybody formally in this day of age.
However, it was a rule in the Jewell family.
A typical wealthy family might hire a housekeeper or two. The Jewells, however, employed a large staff of domestic helpers to run their household, including gardeners, cleaners, laundry
workers, and a team of dozens of cooks.
The Jewells had a large security team of sixty members, mostly retired special forces. The family’s security detail included personal bodyguards who accompanied them when they were
out and about.
Paige got her information from Sierra.
It sounded exaggerated, but the Jewells‘ lifestyle was like rovalty

Paige followed Chris into the house. It was her second time at the residence. She had come once
with the family for the New Year celebration after Chris and Sierra’s engagement.
The family home was decked out opulently but not in a tasteless way. The elegance of the
furishing was befitting of the affluent household’s reputation.
There was no one in the living room. Chris took the elevator up, and Paige and the butler joined
him. When the elevator stopped on the fourth floor, Chris walked out with Paige in tow.
Once outside a room, the butler put the suitcase down.
“Please get some rest, sir, madam. I will inform you when dinner is ready,” the butler said respectfully.
Chris did not say a thing. Paige nodded her head with a smile. “Okay.”
The butler took off.
Chris’took off his jacket, his tie, then his clothes.
Paige was speechless.
It never occurred to Paige that Chris would suddenly strip. With his back facing her, Paige saw the
