MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 3 Episode 8
Albert and Nina were casually talking about nothing in particular when he saw her eyes fixating on the villa.
The whole house was shrouded in the darkness as if the life had been sucked out of it.
“Are you looking for Kristina?” he asked.
“You know?” Nina was stunned and glanced over at Albert’s gentle smiling face. He had been looking at the house, as if he was looking at something he loved.
Nina was even more befuddled now.
“You know this is Kristina’s home, right?”
“I know,” Albert answered calmly. He turned his head and saw the confusion in Nina’s eyes. “Didn’t Noah tell you?”
Nina still had no idea what was going on. “What?”
Did he know that Kristina was dead?
“I’m quite close with Noah and Kristina. We used to play all the time as kids and we have become best friends.” Albert smiled faintly and looked onwards at the house with a glint of sadness in his eyes.
What Albert wanted to say was that Kristina was actually the love of his life.
Noah was always in the dark though, so how could Albert tell Nina?
“I thought Noah told you everything. He treats you so well after all. I wonder why he left that out.” Albert looked at Nina, hiding words behind his eyes.
Nina read his true intentions expertly and said, “Noah just treats me as his sister.”
“Really?” Albert chuckled. He didn’t believe a word of it. Instead, he looked up at the sky longingly. “She just treated me as her little brother at first.”
“What?” Without hearing his last sentence clearly, Nina stared at Albert’s aloof face. Even though he was smiling, he was shrouded in an air of sadness.
Something had been wrong with Albert since last night and Nina couldn’t shake that feeling.
Nina asked, “Albert, something has been off with you since yesterday. What’s wrong?”
Albert froze. He glanced over at Nina and embarrassingly looked back ahead. His eyes were far-reaching. “What do you think happened?
It’s just because Mr. Shi has been doing some sneaky business and taken one billion dollars’ worth of my orders.”
So Albert didn’t know that Kristina was dead.
Nina breathed a sigh of relief.
Since Albert and Kristina had such a close relationship, he would have been devastated if he found out what had happened.
She didn’t want to say anything until she found out exactly what caused Kristina’s death
However she couldn’t help but feel sorry for Albert’s current business dilemma as well. To be part of the rich families seemed like a fairytale on the surface, but this just showed the hidden woes.
John was far too cunning and good at it as well.
“Albert, Kristina asked me to get something from here. I’m just going to go in.” Nina reached out and pushed the iron gate open. Investigating the case was still at the forefront of her mind.
The smile on Albert’s face faded away. He asked in a low voice, “Really?” Without answering, Nina looked up at him warily, fearing that he knew something.
She wasn’t too worried though because he didn’t show any signs that he knew Kristina was dead.
Albert walked in with a warm smile on his face. “Let me go with you. I heard from Noah that Kristina went abroad for a trip. She must have forgotten to take something with her. My place is very close to here so I come here occasionally. I should be more familiar with this place than you. Maybe I can help you find what you’re looking for.”
“Okay.” After thinking for a while, Nina followed him in.

They strolled in through the unlocked gate that Nina pushed open. As soon as they entered the living room, the lights lit up, casting life into this eerie villa.

“Why didn’t Kristina close the gate when she left?” Nina was confused. She looked down and saw a pair of men’s slippers pushed to one side, next to women’s ones.
Nina raised her eyes and looked around the living room. The house was much more lively than the one on the West Forest Street. It was gorgeously decorated with a warm feel.
On the tea table, there were some financial and fashion magazines. While the wall was plastered with pictures of Kristina. She smiled beautifully paired with her affectionate eyes, but none of the pictures made her look very tall at all. The photographer must be taller than her.
Nina could tell that the photographer must be someone Kristina liked very much because she was smiling happily in these photos.
Was the photographer her boyfriend? There were traces of a man living there, left all around the home.
Nina smelled a faint smell of cooking. Only constant use would leave the aroma lingering in the room.
Nina went into the kitchen. The smell of cooking wasn’t unpleasant by any means, but rather made her feel like she was right at home.
She opened the refrigerator and found that it was packed full with many things neatly placed inside.
There was a note on it which read, “Kristina, heat the milk before you drink it. The other drinks can only be drunk after they get to room temperature. Don’t drink them while they are cold.
Otherwise you may have a stomachache. I won’t warm your stomach up.”
Looking at the considerate note, Nina’s heart couldn’t help but melt. She thought of the time she asked John to do the same thing. She loved when he helped warm her stomach up. She stared at it, chuckling.
“Maybe acting as a small furnace is part of being masculine. All men seem to have the same job,” she murmured “Nina, what are you looking at?”
Albert’s sudden appearance in the kitchen startled Nina.
“Nothing. I just think Kristina and her boyfriend probably really love each other.” Nina put the note back and closed the fridge.
She just didn’t understand why two people who loved each other so much, would keep their love private.
Did it have anything to do with their identities?
Nina’s analysis of Kristina’s relationship really caught Albert’s attention. He pried, “How do you know they love each other?”
Nina looked at Albert suspiciously. No one knew that Kristina was in love.
It seemed that Noah certainly didn’t. Otherwise, how could he not investigate the closest person to Kristina when she was found dead?
Nina’s words prompted one response from Albert. He didn’t care that she had a boyfriend but, he only wanted to know how Nina knew that they loved each other.
“So you know Kristina has a boyfriend. Do you know him?” asked Nina, looking at Albert inquisitively.
Noah and Nina had already suspected that Kristina’s killer probably had a close relationship with her.
Her boyfriend was yet to show up so he was naturally a suspect.
Albert looked into Nina’s exploratory eyes and said after a pause, “Yes, I know him.”
“Can you tell me who he is?” Nina hoped that she was finally going to make a breakthrough.
Albert shook his head and said, “I promised Kristina that I won’t tell anyone. She doesn’t want to make it public. She is afraid that it will affect the stock of her company and others will take the opportunity to usurp the power. Then she won’t be able to keep the family business for Noah.”
That was the reason their relationship wasn’t public. Albert could feel nothing but helpless.
No matter what he had done, Noah would always hold the top spot in Kristina’s heart.
