MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 3 Episode 15
It had been a year since Albert had bought the abandoned factory located in the northern suburbs. The place had already been covered with rust and weeds.
During night time, the sounds of frogs croaking and bugs chirping echoed throughout the whole area.
The silver gates to the building were open. The faint light from inside tried to creep out into the darkness which lighted up the cement road.
The road was actually clean and it led up to the abandoned factory. It had been out of repair for quite some time. Outside the building, there were a few low-key luxury cars parked outside.
Ford’s figure made the faint light stretch long. He walked purposefully to the elevator inside and pressed the button which led him underground.
A different world welcomed him as soon as he stepped out.
The building actually had an underground laboratory. Albert had it built, and he had spent quite a generous amount for it. Through the other side of the glass, a lot of people were bustling. They were scientific research staff.
Ford stood in front of a glass door which scanned his retinas before it finally opened for him.
As soon as he was able to enter, he headed straight to the room at the end of the corridor. He could see his boss at the other side of the glass door who was standing by a white bed. On the bed was a woman. It was Nina, and she was currently asleep.
The door scanned Ford’s retinas once again before he was able to walk in.
“Mr. Song, I have already informed Isabella. She will come tomorrow morning and take care of Ms. Lu.”
Albert nodded. His eyes were still fixed on Nina’s sleeping form. “Okay, go and ask Dr. Wendy to come here.” Albert placed a blanket over Nina and then sat on the sofa afterwards.
Wendy received her doctor’s degree in neurology and specialized in individual memory research. She suffered from the attack of the academic circles because of an experiment she conducted that tried to change the individual memories.
A year ago, Albert came to her and asked her to lead a research team. Their task was mainly engaged in drug research and development. The type of drug they were studying could tamper with the content of a human’s memories. They named it Memory Charm.
Memory Charm, which meant to modify memories, was a magic that could modify human memories.
Albert originally wanted to develop this kind of medicine mainly because he wanted to modify his awful childhood experience.
He found Dr. Wendy when she had been reprimanded by the academic circles.
They thought that her ideas were madness, but Albert and Wendy had same minds. She shared her thoughts about the research and development of M.C. and Albert had seen a huge business value in it.
M.C. could modify the memories of a person. It could implant a different character or scene on a memory the subject wanted to forget.
This breakthrough would definitely catch the attention of the whole world once they were able to release it.
This was the reason that it took half a year for Albert to build such an airtight and high technology underground laboratory. Dr. Wendy led the technical team to overcome the difficulties day and night, and the prototype of M.C. was already emerging.
“George, what can I do for you?” Dr. Wendy was a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. She didn’t really care much about her appearance since she devoted most of her time to studying.
One would have mistaken her to be on her fifties when she was only around forty years old. Her appearance looked haggard and her hair was a little messy.
Her Chinese wasn’t that good at all either, so she struggles with her words as she tried to talk to Albert.
“Dr. Wendy, how is the research and development of M.C. going? I need it now.” Wendy was caught off guard.
Then, she refused. “It isn’t finished yet. It still can’t be used and we do not know what kind of problems could occur.”
“Isn’t it almost done? How long will it still take?” Albert frowned. His worried eyes glanced over the sleeping figure of Nina.
He already wanted to tamper with Nina’s memory that night.
Wendy was deep in thought for a moment. “It will probably take at least five days. The research and development will be completed in three days, but we still need two more days to test it and confirm its effect and side effects.”
Five days was going to be hard for him. Albert had a blank expression on his face.

He knew how John cared for Nina. Judging from the man’s feelings for the woman, John would be most likely to tear Lexingport City apart to find Nina even if she just disappeared for one night.

It would be dangerous for him to hide Nina for five days.
However, Dr. Wendy made sense. Something bad might happen to Nina if she had undergone the Memory Charm before all the trials were completed.
Kristina liked Nina very much. He would not easily hurt anything or anyone that Kristina liked.
“Okay, five days. I’ll give you five days. After that, I need to see the finished product.” Even if John knew that Nina was there, he couldn’t just barge in and take her away.
The laboratory cost Albert more than a billion. He wouldn’t just allow people to enter that easy.
Wendy looked determined. “Five days later, we will definitely hand over the finished product to you.”
Albert raised his hand to signal her to leave.
Ford glanced over to Albert. “Mr. Song, are you going to use M.C. on Ms. Lu?”
Albert gave him a mischievous look. “She knows the relationship between me and Kristina. I have promised Kristina that I won’t let anyone know of our relationship. Even if I can’t make up for accidentally hurting her, I have to fulfill all my promises to her.”
Albert’s lips slightly trembled. His eyes were filled with guilt as he once again blamed himself. As he placed the back of his hand over his lips, he imagined that it was Kristina’s. All of a sudden, tears started rolling down his face.
Thinking of the argument that night, Albert’s body tightened. He felt nervous and full of regret.
He was very ashamed to face Kristina.
“Ford, send someone to guard the area nearby secretly. Inform me immediately if anything happens. Nina must stay here until she takes M.C. Also, when Isabella arrives tomorrow, tell her to not let Nina out of her sight. Make sure she doesn’t escape.”
“Yes, sir.”
When John came back to the hospital, he was met by a figure sticking out in the bed. The quilt covered the person’s face so John couldn’t see her.
If he were someone else, no one would have noticed that it was a nurse lying in the bed.
John could recognize Nina even if she was far away. He had her figure and unique smell memorized.
The bulged figure in the bed was quite different from the person he held every night. As he got closer, the only thing he could smell was the smell of disinfectant. There wasn’t even the slightest trace of Nina’s scent.
John instantly knew that Nina had run away.
He didn’t even bother to lift the quilt. Instead, he turned around and went back to the bodyguards outside. “Where is she?”
The man’s cold and frightening voice made the two men tremble. They looked at each other and realized that the person inside was not Nina since John was furious.
“Please punish us.” The two of them lowered their heads and apologized. There was no point in apologizing now. Nina was already gone.
John sighed and tried to calm himself. “Who was the one that had left the room?”
“A nurse. Half an hour ago, a nurse left here.”
That was when they realized that the nurse was actually Nina.
John glared at the two men. His cold eyes were already shooting daggers at them as he thought of how they couldn’t even prevent his woman from escaping.
Then, he ordered his men to search the whole city and instructed them to pay close attention to Albert’s every move.
