MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 3 Episode 10
Since this method didn’t work, Ella harbored raging urge to strangle Albert to death over and over again. She would scream in a fierce and mournful voice as her hands wrapped around his throat.
“It’s all your fault. If it weren’t for you, your father wouldn’t have cheated on me.”
But each time, the nanny would hurriedly interfere and snatch his son away, saving his life.
Ella was in a constant state of haze. Whenever Albert was in her sight, she would scold and beat him as if he were her enemy.
And when the nanny would step in to protect him, Ella would beat both her and Albert. Eventually, Ella came up with a scheme to frame the nanny, accusing her of stealing and dismissing her.
Albert was less than half a year old then, and the nanny held the child and wept. She had never seen a mother treating her own son in such a cruel manner. The boy was Ella’s own flesh after all.
With the nanny gone, there would be no one left in this household to protect the child, and there was no telling how much suffering Albert would go through in the future.
The nanny herself had suffered much as a child in the hands of her stepmother. It was a predicament that was deeply imprinted in her heart, a nightmare that haunted her every night.
She didn’t want Albert to experience the same pains that she did. And so, she knelt down to Ella and begged earnestly, asking to stay.
“Mrs. Song, please don’t drive me away. Please let me take care of the boy until he grows up. I don’t want money, not a single penny. I just want to take care of him until he is five years old at least. Please.”
This only made Ella even angrier, and in the end, she asked someone to forcibly remove the nanny from the premises.
The nanny stood outside the closed iron gate and kept knocking, pleading to be allowed to stay.
Perhaps the child had developed a strong bond with the nanny who always took care of him, and the two had become attuned to each other. As soon as the nanny was driven out, Albert burst into tears. He was in the arms of another servant at the time, and his crying fit continued until the flush from his little face covered his whole body and he almost passed out.
The servant who held him rushed to Ella. “Mrs. Song, something is wrong. Albert has been crying so hard, he is now struggling to breathe properly.”
Albert’s mother only snorted. “He’d be better off dead. He can’t even keep his father by his side. He is nothing but a useless child.”
Eventually, Albert stopped his tantrum, and recovered by himself.
As expected, the days that followed the nanny’s departure were like hell for Albert. Ella did beat him endlessly.
At some point, a servant tried to step in and pointed out how it was illegal to inflict violence upon a child, so Ella changed gears. She started to verbally attack and berate her son, letting out all of her pain and grievances on Albert.
When Albert started to learn how to speak, he once uttered in a sweet voice, “Mommy.”
“Who are you calling Mommy? Stay away from me.” Ella pushed Albert to the floor before walking away.
Since then, Albert didn’t dare to come close to her, and he had never called her his mother again.
He was a child. And like many children, he yearned for his mother’s love, and was always eager to please Ella even through the littlest bits of effort.
He was ruthlessly rejected and pushed away every time.
When Albert was three years old, he randomly asked a servant, “Why haven’t I seen my father?”
Ella happened to be nearby, and she heard every word. She pulled her son aside and proceeded to beat him furiously. “You have some nerve, looking for your father! If it weren’t for you, he would have come back a long time ago. If it weren’t for you, our family wouldn’t have been like this!”
Albert bit his tongue even as he wept. His tears kept falling like drops of rain, but he made sure not to let out a sound.
When Ella was done with him, he shrank into a dark corner and continued to sob quietly.

“Why are you crying? Mom said it was all because of you that Dad is with another woman. He doesn’t want us that’s why he doesn’t go home.” Adrian was only six years old then, and lacked the moral compass to distinguish right from wrong. He just did whatever his mother said.

And seeing his brother crying in the corner, he didn’t comfort Albert, but scolded him instead, just as their mother would.
That was the first time that Albert hurt another person. He punched Adrian’s nose until it bled and he was sent to the hospital.
After the older boy was discharged, he developed a fear towards his younger brother. Adrian never provoked his brother again. Albert finally found a way to protect himself.
He could only bully others if he didn’t want to be bullied himself.
From then on, Albert gradually changed. No longer was he the timid child, but a little devil that terrorized everyone in the Song family.
He once heard a saying, “No one will beat a guy who’s smiling.” Albert always showed a smile in front of everyone, but secretly tortured everyone who hurt him.
Albert’s insidious and cruel streak only grew with age, but he somehow developed a protocol for himself: he treated those who were good to him well.
And at the age of fourteen, Albert managed to find the nanny who had protected him when he was a child.
Seeing that she was alone without any children, he cashed out his personal money to give her a premium apartment. He also used his own money to support her.
The nanny had been adamant stubborn at first, but Albert was more stubborn. She only accepted the residence he provided and refused to accept his money. She then found a job in the orphanage and lived a good life.
Albert called her Aunt Linn and would always come to her place whenever he had nothing to do. She was happy with that, but as the days passed and she got to know Albert better, she realized that there was a darker side to his heart.
Of course she knew it was because of Ella; how hard it must have been for Albert to live till now. She couldn’t blame him for what he had become. Instead, she tried to reeducate him in hopes that she might reverse his cruel personality.
But Albert was already fourteen years old, with his own thoughts and will. It was rather too late for her to change something that had been rooted deep within him for so long.
Still, she refused to give up. She persevered in drilling the teachings of good in him every day. Albert only listened patiently. It was his way of showing the greatest respect that he never refuted her words once.
“Albert, if you cannot let go of the past, you cannot embrace the future. Even if the past is a deep pit of darkness without even a sliver of light, one day the light of hope will reach you. But only if you are willing to turn back from the darkness and walk the path of light.”
Albert would just smile without saying anything.
Some people were born in an abyss, and they only had two ways to go about it. They could either be indifferent to the predicament or reach out their hands into the void. And when you chose to reach out your hand, the abyss would return your gaze and reach out to you as well.
The final result was that they would either leave the abyss together, or fall into it together.
Albert was well aware of it. He didn’t want to drag the nanny down into his darkness. So he would always behave properly in front of her, and only showed her all his good sides.
Beneath the surface, however, Albert remained an extremely cruel person.
Sometime during this period, there was a girl at school who mocked Albert for being the bastard of a nanny.
The very next day, the girl’s tongue was cut off and she could no longer speak.
She also came from a rich and prominent family, and when they learned of the incident, they immediately assumed that it had something to do with Albert. The family dispatched several burly men to the school that afternoon, and they dragged Albert into a deserted alley. The plan was to cut off Albert’s tongue in retaliation.
Albert was still fourteen years old then. He was no match for these large, hulking men. He looked timid as a mouse in comparison.
As danger loomed over him, Albert began to think he was going to meet his doom right there and then. Suddenly, a female voice called out from behind. “What are you doing?”
