MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 3 Episode 1
The black Maybach stopped in front of the gate of North Yard. John glanced over to Nina and noticed her fingers slightly move.
John frowned at the sight. If Nina woke up at this time, both of them would definitely have a heated argument. It would be more difficult to deal with her if that were the case.
He lifted her over his shoulder and hurriedly walked inside.
Nina felt like her world was spinning when she was able to slightly open her eyes. The moment John carried her, her headache had gotten worse.
This cause her to faint again.
“Mr. and Mrs. Shi. Why are you already back?” Helen had a confused look on her face as she glanced from John to Nina who was unconscious at his shoulder. “Mr. Shi, is Mrs. Shi drunk? Or perhaps, did she offend you?”
Nina was always held in John’s arms whenever they were in good terms with each other.
During instances like the one right now, however, there were only two possible reasons. It could be that Nina was drunk, or she had made John angry.
‘She works for another man,’ John thought to himself.
Even if Nina was the spy that Albert had planted beside him, she was still his woman and his legal wife.
He refused to believe that she would be helping Albert.
His loud footsteps thumped on the wooden floor as he continued to carry her.
John went directly to the master bedroom and placed Nina on the bed. His scheming eyes darted towards the sleeping figure.
“Richard, send people to guard North Yard. Helen, take away all the electronic devices in the bedroom.”
Richard nodded silently and started to calmly come up with a plan.
Helen gave Nina a worried look before answering. “Yes, sir.”
It seemed to her that Nina had pissed John off this time. Nina wasn’t given a chance to reflect on her action. Not only that, but she was about to be locked up inside the bedroom.
Helen let out a soft sigh and started to grab all the gadgets away.
“All done, Mr. Shi.”
“Okay,” John responded. He then sat by the edge of the bed and covered Nina with a quilt. He continued to stare silently at her curled eyelashes which slightly showed signs of movement.
Judging from this, John suspected that she was fine and that she would wake up later.
After a while, he stood up and locked the door before making his way downstairs.
Three people stood side by side in the living room—Richard, Amy and Lena. Helen walked over and stood by their side.
While standing obediently, they silently waited for John’s instructions.
John plopped on the sofa in an elegant manner. He crossed his long legs and lazily clicked a lighter to reveal a blazing green light. After lighting up a cigarette, he took a long drag and blew out a stream of smoke.
“Mr. Shi, I have ten people already transferred other than me, Amy and Lena. Please give us your orders,” Richard said.
John’s had a cold expression on his face as he started talking. “Amy and Lena, take two groups with you to guard every corner of North Yard. Make sure nothing from inside comes out, not even a fly.”
“Yes, sir!” they answered in unison. Richard nodded at the two, signaling for them to leave the living room first. He, on the other hand, remained by John’s side. His main task was to protect him.
After another puff, John’s slender fingers hovered over the crystal ashtray which had not been used for quite a while.
“Helen, serve meals three times a day on time. Don’t let Nina out,” John ordered. “If you can’t stand her begging and end up letting her out, don’t expect to remain here in North Yard anymore.”
John knew that Helen was very fond of Nina so he made sure to her that he was very clear with his point.
Helen was too kind and compassionate. Nina could easily trick Helen to let her go.
“Yes, Mr. Shi.” Helen nodded obediently.
“Good.” John glanced one last time over to her as a warning.
Surely, Helen wouldn’t dare to release Nina without his permission.
Suddenly, Nine popped out from nowhere. It ran in front of John and shook its tail before turning its head towards the direction of the second floor.
Helen watched the eager dog. “Mr. Shi, can Nine accompany Mrs. Shi?

With no gadgets in the bedroom, Mrs. Shi would definitely get bored. I think it would be better to let Nine accompany her.”
“No,” John refused, his cold eyes glaring daggers at her.
He wanted Nina to think thoroughly on whether she would help Albert or obediently act as his wife.
This would be the last chance he would be giving her.
As long as she didn’t run away, he would let her out as soon as he was done dealing with Albert.
Everything was already planned out. The moment he was done with his cigarette, he crushed the remains into the ashtray and stood up.
He was going back to Time Group.
He was already at the stone path in the garden when Richard caught up with him. “Mr. Shi, why do you still keep Mrs. Shi in North Yard? Haven’t we already confirmed that she is Albert’s spy?”
John continued to walk and said calmly, “She is my wife. I have already announced that to the world.”
“Mr. Shi, just let her go. She doesn’t have to be kept by your side. This would only bring endless trouble for you in the future.” Richard had to ensure his boss’s safety.
A sly smirk appeared on John’s face and his eyes flashed with knowing.
“In terms of money and power, who has more of them? Me or Albert?”
“You,” Richard answered.
The smirk never left John’s face. “What about physical appearances?”
John knew that Nina not only loved his face but also his body as well.
A slight frown appeared on Richard’s face. He didn’t understand where John was heading with all the weird questions. “You win.”
Afterwards, John pointed towards his brain. “What about here?”
Richard had never once thought of criticizing his boss, but he couldn’t help but think if John was being his narcissistic self again.
However, it was true that no one in Lexingport City would be able to match John in terms of IQ.
“Of course, you win.”
John’s smile gradually faded. His sharp eyes were like daggers and they were very intimidating.
“Can’t I instigate her to rebel against Albert?”
His cold eyes shot sideways and they glowed under the faint cold light.
A look of understanding washed over Richard’s expression. Now he understood what his boss was up to, and he couldn’t help but think how unbelievable it was.
Whenever John caught a spy, he would usually severely punish the person. The suspect would sometimes lose an arm or a leg. Sometimes, he would make them wish that they were dead instead.
Richard thought that John would torture Nina, but he didn’t expect that he would just lock her up in the bedroom with three meals a day sent to her.
Suddenly, Richard remembered what Henry whispered to him before he left. “After all, Nina is Mr. Shi’s wife.”
It was then that Richard had realized that Henry was telling him to not deliberately target Nina. After all, John harbored deep feelings for his wife.
After understanding everything, Richard followed John. The two of them got in the car and left North Yard.
Hearing the sound of the engine from outside, Nina slowly opened her eyes.
When she recalled the scene earlier where John made Richard hit her, she sat up with eyes wide and alert. She moved her head swiftly and glanced around her surroundings. As soon as she recognized where she was, her shoulders visibly relaxed.
“John, you actually let someone knock me out!” she growled. Nina was furious. She moved her neck and a flash of pain coursed through her.
Nina frowned and rubbed the back of her neck. “Richard hit me so hard.”
When she realized that she was wasting time, she tried to ignore the pain and hurried towards the door.
However, she realized that she couldn’t get out. She tried twisting the doorknob several times, but she couldn’t open it. The door was locked from outside.
