MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 91
James and Adrian stayed for lunch. While they were having lunch, James kept winking at Nina, hoping that she could help him with his current ambition.
Nina spooned up half a bowl of soup and put it in front of John. She said bluntly, “James wants to be in show business.” ‘Aunt Nina! Don’t be so direct!
Why didn’t you ease into it first?’ James was so stunned that his grip on his chopsticks loosened, dropping his sparerib into his soup bowl with a splash.
If John just accepted his pleas in the past, James wouldn’t be in this position.
Now he had to beg Nina for help.
John reached out for the spoon in his bowl. When his fingers touched the handle of the spoon, he remembered that he was injured.
“Little girl.” John cast a glance at Nina. Nina immediately understood his gesture. She took a spoonful of soup and fed John caringly.
The soup was fantastic, but the aroma was masked by Nina’s captivating scent. Her little face was as smooth as silk. Her long eyelashes fluttered like wings, half covering her bright eyes.
John enjoyed the soup a lot, but he wasn’t sure if it was just because his wife was feeding it to him.
After having a couple mouthfuls, he turned his head to look at James and calmly stated, “Two years.”
“What?” James didn’t know what to do with himself.
Adrian explained, “Mr. Shi will give you two years to do whatever you want in the entertainment industry. After that however, you will quit with no complaints.”
“Really?” James was so excited that he leapt out of his seat. “Two years is enough. As long as I can start my career in show business, that’s all that matters.”
Nina pursed her lips and smiled. She guessed James might want to make Emma his girlfriend in a year.
James never took anything too seriously and especially not love. Once he did though, he would never give up on it.
He had never been in love before. There were rumors here and there but they were just girls trying to get close to him, and nothing more.
“Uncle John, Aunt Nina, I am stuffed. I have something I need to do. Please excuse me.” After drinking the orange juice in one gulp, James turned around and walked out of North Yard.
He was in high spirits and trotted off in a hurry.
He was probably going to see someone really important.
Adrian didn’t understand. “Does James really want to enter the entertainment industry? He almost gave it up before, right?”
John took a look at Nina and smiled, “He has grown up.
He knew his nephew well.
He guessed that James did it for his beloved.
“He has fallen in love with someone,” Nina echoed, looking at the young man disappearing through the door.
Although she didn’t exactly know how much went on between James and Emma, he must really like her.
He would have never trotted out like that if he wasn’t head-over-heels for her. Nina knew that if she was in love with someone, she would run to him just like James did.
In the middle of the afternoon, the warm sunshine flowed down from the sky and smothered the towering office building. The sun hit a girl standing in front of the building, casting a slanted shadow that stretched far out.
Wearing a green floral dress, carrying a wine red bag, the woman held the script and the contract tightly in her hand and stared at the poster at the gate of Sunshine Entertainment.
The poster was of a man with the most loving and charming of smiles. It was one of those smiles that instantly made women happy.
Emma loved his tenderness but trusting him in the past left her with nothing but betrayal and heart-break.
As soon as she looked up, she saw the striking caption.
“Harrison, the most ideal man.”

Sunshine Entertainment was a subsidiary of Zhu Group. It was run by Adela, Harrison’s fiancee.
Right now, the whole Sunshine Entertainment was supporting Harrison. Adela was constantly spending money to make him popular. She was also providing a ton of resources.
Even though he had done nothing recently, he had become an extremely popular actor. He had a large female following and for good reason.
Emma’s internship instructor, the well-known Director Xin, was recently shooting a movie, and needed an actor like Harrison who had lots of fans as the supporting role in his movie.
The supporting role was designed to be a warm and gentle rich man. He didn’t particularly need any excellent acting skills. Harrison was born in a rich family and this role he had to play was basically just his actual life. That was why Director Xin was so persistent that Harrison had to play the role.
When Adela refused the role on behalf of Harrison, she had told Director Xin that she didn’t like Emma. Needless to say, Director Xin was furious and told Emma that if she couldn’t get Harrison to do the movie, she wouldn’t get her internship certificate.
It was the third time that Emma stepped into Sunshine Entertainment building. She tried to look calm, but she couldn’t shake the memory of Harrison cheating on her and breaking up with her some time ago. It felt like a knife being thrust through her heart.
Harrison was the man she had loved with all her heart and soul for two years, but in the end, he dumped her because she wasn’t as rich as Adela.
As soon as the receptionist of Sunshine Entertainment saw Emma, she stepped forward and stopped her. “I’m sorry, Miss Lin. Miss Zhu told me that I can’t let you enter the company.”
Emma nodded with a smile. “I’m here to talk about a compromise with Miss Zhu. Please inform her for me.”
“Miss Lin, this is your third time here. Mr. He won’t act in your movie. You’d better give up.” The receptionist had lost her patience.
The smile on Emma’s face froze. She was so exasperated that she was ready to give up. But when she thought of what Director Xin said, she gritted her teeth and continued, “Can you give me Miss Zhu’s phone number? I’ll call her myself.”
“What don’t you understand?” The receptionist was furious. “Guards, drag her out. We can’t just let anyone in this company.”
Two security guards trotted over. As a weak girl, Emma could do nothing but helplessly be thrown out.
“Ah…” Emma fell to the ground, grazing her palms.
It didn’t really hurt that much but what really hurt was seeing Harrison smiling in the poster. It seemed like he was mocking her.
He was ridiculing her for being an idiot and overestimating herself.
“Emma!” When James arrived, he saw her sitting on the ground. She looked so lonely and helpless. Emma stared blankly at the poster on the wall. Tears rolled over her cheeks while her heart ached.
Seeing this, James was furious. He marched forward and helped Emma up. “Emma, did you get hurt?”
“James, why are you here?” Emma shook off his hand and wiped the tears off her face. She didn’t want him to see her in such a mess.
When James saw her palms bleeding, he grabbed her wrists and asked, “What’s wrong?”
He pointed at Sunshine Entertainment building angrily. “Did they do this?”
“It’s none of your business,” Emma snapped coldly, withdrawing her hands. She didn’t want to see this man who kissed her.
But James didn’t care about that. He ordered his men, “Smash the company’s signboard for me. I’ll take the responsibility if anything happens.”
“Yes, sir.” His guards obediently began demolishing the signboard.
The cacophony of destruction shocked Emma. She turned around and shouted, “What are you doing? This isn’t your problem!”
“Well I’m taking care of your business.” With his hands on his hips, James continued marshalling out orders. “Keep smashing!”
Watching the barrage of damage, James smiled complacently. “What do you think? Does it feel like you exacted your revenge?
Emma, you don’t have to be so polite to me all the time. Sooner or later, you’ll marry me.”
