MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 89
Nina did not hear any response. She patted John on the shoulder and said, “If you don’t answer me, then the painting stays.”
“Take it down,” John replied through clenched teeth.
That ugly painting had to go. It should not have a place in their bedroom.
It made John want to pluck his eyes out every time he saw it.
His father took that ugly photo of his, and his wife drew the painting and hung on the wall.
If it were not for the fact that he couldn’t beat his father or wife, he would have taught them a lesson.
After putting Nina on the bed, John took the painting down himself.
He took the painting outside and started beating the hell out of it like a captured enemy. He guessed it was a healthier way to vent his anger.
Nina stayed inside the bedroom and listened to the snapping and ripping sounds her painting made under John’s angry blows.
Her husband was fast, accurate, and ruthless in destroying her masterpiece.
At the rate he was going, he could rip apart anything, maybe even a person.
Nina bit her lip and clicked her tongue. She wondered how much darkness and distress the painting had caused John before he finally snapped at yanked it off the wall.
Then, the noise stopped. Nina looked up at their bedroom door and saw John step in. There was not a hair out of place in his head, and the calm expression on his face betrayed emotion. It was like nothing just happened.
“Are you happy now?” Nina raised her head at John and suddenly felt a bit guilty. He might look cool and indifferent, but that painting really poked a nerve in him. It showed in his eyes. She had wronged him with that piece, and she should start apologizing. She hugged him and kissed the corners of his mouth.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know you hate it so much.” Nina kissed the corner of his mouth again.
John’s lips slowly curled to a smile. At this moment, he had decided to let the ugly painting go. His little girl finally apologized after all.
However, a smirk gradually spread Nina’s lips. She batted her eyelashes and said, “We will hang it back when you’re okay with it. I can paint another one.”
The smile on John’s face froze. He was rendered speechless.
He would never accept that painting that she drew to slander him for being ugly. “Do you think that’s a good idea?” Nina was being a little complacent.
With a darkened face, John reached out and pulled Nina’s hair, tilting her head back.
He leaned in until he was close enough to feel her breath on his mouth. “You…” With her eyes wide open, Nina felt John’s teeth sink gently into her lower lip.
She reached out and pinched John on the waist.
John grabbed her and whispered in her ear, “Little girl, pinching the waist will light up the fire. You know that, right?” Nina smiled naughtily. She wanted to pinch him.
John’s warm breath sprayed on her ears and temples, and heat blossomed in her cheeks. Nina drew her head back and said, “Do you want the fire to be lit?”
“I think you know the answer to that. Stop playing.” Then, John put Nina’s finger to his lips and playfully bit it. He played with her slender finger while holding her waist.
“My foot hasn’t recovered yet,” Nina refused.
“Hush now. Stop talking too much.” How could John allow her to refuse? With one fluid movement, he carried Nina in his arms and set her gently on the bed. He climbed in afterward and with a pull of the quilt, he completely covered the two of them.
The temperature in the room rose as John did things to his wife.
For several times, Nina wanted to make a sound, but then she remembered Helen telling her that John liked it quiet. She had to swallow every moan and whimper the entire time.
The next day, after Nina was discharged from the hospital, there was an endless stream of people coming to visit her. It was the first time that North Yard had been so lively.
Most of the visitors were blocked at the gate by the guards, and only some were allowed in.
Looking at Nina’s rosy face, red lips, and white teeth, Sam felt relieved and left after a few words.
As soon as Sam walked out of North Yard, he smiled like a cunning old fox and said to the butler, “I’m going to have a grandson.”
As soon as Sam left, the young people in North Yard could finally breathe. At this moment, James rushed up to see Nina. “How are you feeling, Aunt Nina? Does your foot still hurt? Can you walk? When will you recover?”

He had asked several questions before getting to the point. Then, James leaned closer to Nina and asked in a low voice, “Have you spoken with Uncle John? Does he promise to get me into the entertainment industry?”
“Oh, is that it? Were you just pretending to care about me so that you could ask questions about your uncle’s decision?” Nina said sarcastically.
James put his hands together to beg Nina as if he had not heard what she just said. “Aunt Nina, please. Please talk to Uncle John as soon as possible. The anxiety is killing me. I’ve been losing sleep thinking about this. Please, it’s really important to me.”
Eagerness and seriousness were written in his eyes.
James had always been a wild and unruly man. This was the first time that Nina had seen him so serious about something. She could not help wondering, “Why do you want this so badly?”
James looked her in the eye and took a deep breath. “Because I need it to help someone who’s dear to me.”
Nina raised her eyebrows. “And who might this someone be?” she asked. Although James was a playboy, he was not a bully. He only bullied his friends.
James rolled his eyes as a sign of defeat. Emma’s face flashed through his mind, and he could not help smiling. He touched a finger to his lips and answered, “I kissed Emma not long ago, remember? And I realized that I like her and want to go after her.
Her tutor and that scumbag Harrison made things difficult for her recently. Her tutor asked her to personally invite Harrison to take up the male supporting role for their movie. When Adela saw Emma, she convinced Harrison to say no to her. Her tutor got angry and told her that if she couldn’t find someone to take the role, she wouldn’t get her internship certificate.
So I’m going to be her hero and save her. If Uncle John will let me, I’ll invest some money in the crew and win the role for Emma.”
Hearing this, Nina narrowed her eyes. “Who were you referring to?”
“Emma Lin, the straight-A student of L Communication University. She’s Mimi’s cousin and your friend, Aunt Nina.”
James did not notice the change of expression on Nina’s face. He smiled confidently.

James did not notice the change of expression on Nina’s face. He smiled confidently.
This time, Nina was speechless.
‘This brat! I don’t want him to hurt my friend.’
James pleaded once more. “Please help me, Aunt Nina. Emma’s practically family to you. Do you have the heart to let your family be bullied?”
Well, how could Nina let her people be bullied?
Nina nodded and finally agreed, “Fine. I’ll talk to your uncle John later.”
“That’s great, Aunt Nina. Thank you so, so much. You’re my savior.” With a big smile on James’s face, he thought, ‘As long as Aunt Nina has my back, I will get what I want.
Uncle John listens to Aunt Nina.’
When James looked around the living room, he did not see anyone else. “Well, where are Uncle John and Adrian?”
Only then did Nina notice that the two men were not in the living room. She guessed, “Maybe they’re in the study.
They may have something important to discuss.”
In the study
Adrian sat on the chair in front of John’s desk while John looked out the window.
With his back to Adrian, John was with an unreadable expression in his eyes. After brooding for a while, he asked Adrian calmly and vaguely, “Why did a woman keep silent while engaging in sexual congress with her man?”
Caught off guard by the nature of the question, Adrian spat out half of the tea he just drank. Slightly panicking, he stood up, sending the chair he was just sitting on tumbling backward.
He set his cup on the table. The clatter of the cup against the saucer was loud enough to turn John around.
Adrian started coughing violently. He was choking so badly that he had to reach out his hand and grab the nearest bookshelf for support. He alternated between coughing and laughing, and his face started turning red.
“What did you just say?” Adrian really doubted that he had heard or understood John correctly.
He had just basically told him that Nina was quiet in bed, and that was really not something one just casually threw out in the open.
