MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 82
Noah stopped and called, “Mr. Shi.”
“What?” Upon hearing this, Nina arched her eyebrows as she eyed the dark look on John’s face.
Even so, tears began to well up in her eyes. Pouting, she called out, “John. Why are you so late?”
She couldn’t help but feel wronged.
Seeing her cry washed away the anger that was stewing in John’s heart.
When he heard her sobbing over the phone, it almost scared him to death. He immediately left the meeting and rushed over only to find her on another man’s back. How could he not be angry?
However, when Nina called his name, his heart softened.
Nina’s crying was always his weakness.
“Why do you cry when you see me? Did I hit you or get mad at you?” John said sourly. He was still fuming over the fact that she was on Noah’s back.
“Why do you cry when you see me? Did I hit you or get mad at you?” John said sourly. He was still fuming over the fact that she was on Noah’s back.
Noah shot John an indifferent look as he got Nina off his back.
Nina clung onto John, burying her head in his neck as her tears dampened his clothes. “John, Aunt Kristina was seriously injured just to save me. She just came out of the operating room. We need to see her.”
“Okay.” John caressed Nina’s head, trying to comfort her. He turned to Noah and asked, “Which ward is Kristina in?”
Noah glanced at the two. He’d never seen Nina so aggrieved and John so tender. At the end of the day, Nina was still a woman who needed to be taken care of.
She only behaved like this in front of people she loved.
It was getting increasingly apparent that Nina and John loved each other very much.
For some reason, a strange feeling crept up Noah’s heart but he ignored it.
“Mr. Shi, Nina is injured. Please have her treated first. I’ll contact you once Aunt Kristina’s admission procedures have been accomplished.” Noah was worried about Nina’s injury as the doctor also mentioned that it was pretty serious.
Likewise, he was also concerned about his aunt, so he nodded to John and left. “Let’s have you treated first.” John’s face darkened. He then took Nina to get treated for her sprained ankle.
It wasn’t a minor injury. Not only was her ankle swollen but even her bone was injured. The doctor said that it would take a while before she would be able to recover. After the doctor gave them instructions, they left. From then on, John needed to be with Nina at all times.
“Let’s go see Aunt Kristina.” This was the first thing that came out of Nina’s mouth after applying the medicine on her ankle.
John picked her up as she looped her arms around his neck. John was quite tall. Nina looked extra small being held by him like that.
As they made their way to Kristina’s ward, John asked, “What happened this afternoon? Did you see who it was?”
Nina shook her head. “I was so worried about Kristina that I wasn’t able to pay attention. Now that I think about it, I think the brakes were broken. I don’t think anyone hit us on purpose.”
John gently kissed Nina’s hair as his eyes glinted coldly.
Whether it was intentional or not, whoever dared to hurt Nina had to pay. “Henry’s looking into it already,” John said casually. The coldness in his eyes vanished as it always did whenever Nina was around.
John’s phone began ringing.
It was Henry calling.
“Would you mind answering my phone for me?” Since John was carrying Nina, he couldn’t answer his phone as he had his hands full.
“All right,” Nina responded. She grabbed his phone and answered the call. “Henry, what’s up?”
“Mrs. Shi, I’ve already looked into the accident. The driver in the other car was Isabella. However, after the investigation, we found that her car was tampered with. The brakes were broken which caused the accident. As we speak, Isabella is still in a coma.”
Nina was stunned at the mention of Isabella’s name. After a pause, she answered, “Okay, I know.”
Then she said to John, “It was an accident. Isabella’s brakes were broken. That’s why their car ended up ramming into us. She’s still in a coma right now.”
John narrowed his eyes, seemingly in deep thought. He didn’t seem convinced that things were as simple as they seemed.
In the VIP ward
Kristina lay in the bed, still unconscious. Her face was pale as if all the blood had been drained out. She showed no signs of waking up any time soon.
Noah poured a glass of water for himself as he settled himself on the chair beside the bed. He stared at her face, his hand trembling slightly.

Kristina was the most important person in his life. If something happened to her… ‘Nothing will happen to her. She’ll be fine.’
Knock! Knock!
Someone knocked on the door.
“Noah, we’re here to see Aunt Kristina.” Nina’s voice came from outside.
Noah took a sip of his water, trying to calm himself down. He opened the door and said, “Nini, Mr. Shi, please come in.” “Noah, is Aunt Kristina awake already?” “Not yet.”
Nina gestured for John to put her down on the chair. She grabbed Kristina’s clammy hand, remaining silent.
“Mr. Shi, this way please.” Noah led John to the sofa and poured him a glass of water.
While Nina accompanied Kristina, John patiently waited for her. On occasion, he would take his phone out to deal with work.
Not long after, a huge bed was moved into the ward right next to Kristina’s bed. The VIP ward was spacious enough that having two beds in the room didn’t make it crowded.
“Mr. Shi, what’s this?” Noah looked at him in confusion.
“My wife needs to get admitted as she’s worried about Kristina,” John said calmly, keeping his eyes on his phone as he spoke.
When he mentioned the word “wife,” it seemed he purposely emphasized it as if to declare that Nina was his.
Nina was taken aback as she stared blankly at John.
This was the first time that John had referred to her as his wife.
More often than not, John referred to her as his little girl.
Her face turned red as she lowered her gaze, darting her eyes around.
John really was something.
She’d told him that they weren’t a couple yet he still called her his wife.
Even then, he wasn’t wrong. They did have marriage licenses.
Noah felt as if he was the third wheel. He watched the two, keeping the smile on his face.
After about an hour, Kristina woke up causing a huge ruckus.
The CEO of the Ye Group and the wife of the Time Group’s CEO had gotten into an accident. The reporters had already swarmed the hospital, trying to get the latest updates.
John took the initiative to face the reporters and ask them to leave.
Naturally, the news was all over the headlines. Surprisingly, the stock of Ye Group continued to rise despite the accident.
Since Kristina and Nina had both gotten into an accident and the former saved the latter, everyone assumed the Ye family and the Shi family would work together.
Upon hearing the news, the Ye family wasted no time as they rushed to the hospital.
Howard had to take care of his wife and child, so he sent Vivian to visit Kristina on their behalf.
When Vivian arrived at the ward, she was surprised to see Noah.
“Noah?”
When did Noah come back?
Why didn’t anyone know that he was back?
Were Noah and Kristina planning to take over the Ye family’s properties?
Vivian’s mind began racing as a mix of complex emotions arose in her chest.
