MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 81
The two of them were rooted to their places, and their legs felt heavy as concrete.
Isabella smirked and erratically turned the steering wheel, plunging the car towards Nina and Kristina.
The surrounding crowd frantically turned their heads towards the action in horror, unable to do anything.
The car was ploughing closer and closer.
The car was inches away when Nina suddenly came to her senses. She raised her arms and was about to push Kristina away.
As Nina was about to grab Kristina’s shoulders, the latter grabbed her arm and pulled her with all her might.
She pulled Nina into her arms and rolled away from the imminent danger. Their momentum took them to safety, hitting the curb.
“Ah!” Kristina felt a sharp pain in her arms and back.
Lying on Kristina’s body, Nina wasn’t hurt at all except for the ankle she twisted when she fell down.
When Isabella saw them roll to safety, her joy faded and hatred filled her eyes.
“You’re so lucky!” Isabella said to herself, gnashing her teeth. She had to bail herself out of trouble and drove straight into a tree.
She had it all planned out. She was going to pretend to pass out and wait for someone to save her.
Bang!
After the car crashed into the tree, she heard people shout, “Hurry up! Help!” Two men ran towards the car, smashed the window and rescued Isabella.
Isabella fell into their arms as they propped her up. She looked over at Nina and Kristina and pretended to be weak, saying, “How are they? I hope they’re okay.”
She then fainted.
“Aunt Kristina, Aunt Kristina…” Nina was frantically calling out her name. She got up from Kristina’s body and asked, “Aunt Kristina, are you okay?”
Kristina felt a sense of relief, realizing that Nina was fine. She put her hands on Nina’s arms and asked, “Nina, are you hurt?”
“No, I’m fine.” Nina was touched. She didn’t think that Kristina would risk her life for her.
Kristina wasn’t a strong woman, nor was she that close to Nina.
“That’s good.” Kristina was in a lot of pain and felt weak. She couldn’t even catch her breath when she spoke, and her face was as pale as death.
Tears welled up in Nina’s eyes and streamed down her cheeks. She helped Kristina up and said, “Aunt Kristina, let me help you up.”
“Why are you crying? I…I’m fine.” With Nina’s help, Kristina slowly stood up. She was really feeble. Her legs were weak, and her arms were in so much pain that it felt like they had been dislocated. The pain was too much to handle and she fainted.
Nina’s ankle was so swollen that she wasn’t steady enough to hold her up. They both ended up falling to the ground together.
“Aunt Kristina, Aunt Kristina! Ambulance! Ambulance! Please call the ambulance!” Tears streamed down Nina’s face. She looked at the crowd and pleaded for help.
Luckily, a man helped out and called an ambulance.
“Aunt Kristina, Aunt Kristina, please tell me that you’re okay.” Nina sat on the ground paralyzed, holding Kristina’s body in her arms. She was terrified.
Her mind flooded with all the bad things that could happen to Kristina.
Nina wished that she was the one who got hurt instead.
The blood soaked through Kristina’s white clothes and flowed over Nina’s fingertips. Nina looked down at her blood-stained hands and watched the blood drip off in horror.
“Aunt Kristina, don’t scare me. Please!” Nina burst into tears. She sobbed like a little girl. The sun beamed down, but no matter what, it couldn’t warm her quaking body.

Soon, the ambulance arrived.
Nina and Kristina were put on stretchers and rushed off to the hospital.
Nina refused to have any treatment. She sat in front of the operating room, anxiously waiting.
The longer the red light stayed on, the more Nina worried about Kristina.
She calmly phoned Noah and told him what had happened. When she phoned John, however, she couldn’t hold it back anymore. As soon as he heard his voice, she cracked and broke into tears.
When Noah arrived, he saw Nina squatting against the wall, sobbing. Her dress was stained with blood.
“Nini?” Noah looked at her and frowned. He hurried over and helped her up. “Nini, the wall is cold. Don’t lean against it. Sit on the chair.”
Nina grabbed Noah’s arm and looked up at him. She cried and said. “I’m sorry, Noah. I didn’t protect Aunt Kristina. She protected me. I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
She apologized continuously, trying to take all the blame.
“It doesn’t matter, Nini. No one will blame you.” Noah wasn’t even there and Kristina chose to protect Nina, so how could he blame her?
Noah wiped the tears on Nina’s face, but she could not stop crying. Noah patiently coaxed her, “Don’t blame yourself, Nini. Get up. Let’s wait for Aunt Kristina.”
“Boo… hoo… Okay.” Nina nodded vehemently, allowing Noah to help her sit on the chair.
Noah was so worried about his aunt that he didn’t even notice Nina’s swollen ankle. After helping her sit down, he stood beside her and stared at the operating room.
He was frowning and struggling to stay calm.
He sometimes paced up and down anxiously.
Half an hour later, the light of the operating room turned off. The doctor came out, took off his mask and said, “The patient is fine. She just dislocated her arms and bruised her back. The wound has been cleaned and treated. The patient’s family can go through the admission procedure now.”
“Thank God she is fine.” Noah finally breathed a sigh of relief. He didn’t want to cry but his eyes unknowingly turned red and glossy.
He was just so glad that she was okay. Kristina was a coward about pain. Maybe she passed out because of the sharp pain.
Nina stood up and limped over. Her eyes were red and swollen like a rabbit’s. “Doctor, is she really fine?”
“Don’t worry. Her life was never in danger. As for the scars on her back, with advanced technology, they can also be removed. You don’t have to worry.”
The doctor looked at Nina’s ankle and reminded, “Go and deal with your ankle as soon as possible. It’s terribly swollen.”
Only then did Noah notice how bad Nina’s ankle was. “Nina, how did your ankle get so swollen?”
“I’m fine. It’s not a big deal.” Nina smiled and looked at the operating room. “At least Aunt Kristina is fine.”
“It’s a big deal. You should deal with it immediately,” said the doctor. “Don’t let her walk.”
“Thank you, doctor,” Noah said. He turned around and squatted in front of Nina.
“Nini, let me carry you.”
Looking at the strong back in front of her, Nina thought of her brother, Leon. He often squatted in front of her and wanted to carry her.
“Thank you, Noah.” Nina bent over.
As soon as Noah stood up with Nina on his back, a tall figure appeared in front of him.
John had arrived to see his wife clutching onto another man’s back.
