MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 80
“Really?” Nina was stunned. “Did you just say you would give me one?”
It was obvious that Kristina loved the pearls, so it came as a surprise to Nina that the other woman would be willing to share them.
In response, Kristina took out one pearl from the box, reached for the girl’s hand, and gently placed it on Nina’s open palm. It felt cold to the touch, but it was round and smooth. Nina was instantly enamored by it.
She happened to also liked pearls. Unlike other jewelry, pearls looked low-key, classy, and elegant.
“You are never the type to give other people stuff that you like,” Noah mused out loud, casting a perplexed look over to his aunt. Kristina was a woman with a strong personality, and she was never generous to just anyone.
“Nina is special. She is your junior and she calls me aunt. Nina, just take it as a gift.”
“But this is too much.” Nina, on the other hand, had never been one to covet something that belonged to others, much less take it.
On the rare occasions that she did, it was only because it couldn’t be helped, especially since the other party usually insisted.
“Well, I didn’t spend anything on it, and there are two of them anyway. So I’m giving you one. Won’t you take it?” Alas, this was one of those times when the other party insisted.
She might have been downplaying its value in order to convince Nina, but Kristina actually considered the pearls to be priceless.
And she was giving her one because she liked Nina a lot.
Nina pursed her lips and raised her eyebrows with a smile, her expression making her look cute.
“Then I’ll take it. Thanks a lot.”
“You’re welcome. Just take it.” Kristina was very pleased and she smiled happily.
Seeing that the two of them got along well, Noah also smiled and looked at Nina.
She looked very beautiful today.
She was charming, too.
“Dinner is ready. Let’s eat.” They enjoyed the meal.
They talked happily like old friends, and perhaps a bit like family members. After dinner, Kristina held Nina’s hand and said, “Nina, how about coming with me to HD Square later? I was planning to go shopping. I even made a list of what to buy. Let’s go together.”
Nina had nothing else to do for the rest of the day, so she agreed. “Okay. But there seems to be a lot you need to buy. Can we carry all of those by ourselves? Don’t we need someone else to help us?”
Nina was looking at the list. It contained not only daily necessities and basic home items, but also a variety of skin products, cosmetics, and clothes. These goods came in huge packages, too.

Nina estimated that there must be a lot things.
“You don’t need to worry at all. Noah is very strong. He used to help me carry things around when he was very younger.”
Nina threw a surprised look at her senior. “You?”
Noah nodded with a smile. “Aunt has always been fond of shopping since she was ten years old, and I often went with her and helped her carry all kinds of bags. I was just eight years old. I had so much exercise at such a young age.”
“And that’s why you grew up to be a very strong young man,” Kristina also added with a grin.
Noah and Kristina somewhat resembled each other when they smiled. They were about the same age, too. People who didn’t know them could have easily mistaken them as siblings.
They all walked out of the Fragrance Restaurant, talking and laughing. As soon as Noah opened the door of the car, however, he received a call from the police station.
He excused himself so he could take it, and when he was done with the call he walked over to the women with a solemn expression. A murder had occurred.
He looked at them apologetically. “Aunt, Nini, I’m sorry I can’t go shopping with you. I need to head back to the police station immediately.”
“Oh it’s fine. A human life is of greater value than everything. You should focus on your work.” Nina always had his back.
Kristina, on the other hand, was a tad upset. She knew it was a matter of life and death, of course, but every time she went out with him, he was always called away by his colleagues and he would always leave halfway to their outing.
It was not that she was afraid of being alone, but she did worry about him.
Every time she heard that he was going to fight with the gangsters, she felt restless.
She had a very low tolerance for pain even as a child. If Noah got hurt, Kristina would probably feel the pain as her own.
She said nothing.

“Aunt, I’m sorry.” Noah stepped forward and hugged Kristina. His eyes were full of guilt. “Don’t worry. I promise to be careful and to stay safe. I’ll call you when I’m done so you can stop worrying.”
His aunt was like a strict mother, constantly nagging him to take better care of himself. Meanwhile, she was like an aggrieved child, worrying about him. Hearing his promise, Kristina felt relieved and said reluctantly, “Remember to call and let me know that you’re safe.”
“Don’t worry. I will.” Noah loosened his hand and turned to Nina. “Nini, be careful. If you encounter any trouble you can’t handle, call me right away. I’ll come as soon as I can.”
“It’s okay. You can go now. I’ll protect your aunt for you today.” Nina took Kristina’s arm to reassure Noah.
He was the law enforcer and the guardian of the city.
His duty was to protect all of the citizens, not just his own friends and family. As his junior, Nina was doing him a big favor by looking after his aunt in his place.
“Okay, be careful. Aunt, I’m leaving.” Noah got in his car and started the engine, and pretty soon he was driving off to the distance.
Watching him go gave Kristina mixed feelings.
She sighed. “He is always so stubborn. No matter how many times I try to persuade him to come back into the family and take over the business, he never budges from his police work. Now Julie is pregnant…”
She stopped abruptly.
Kristina forced a smile and glanced at Nina. “Oh my, why am I telling you this? Let’s go shopping now.”
“Aunt, don’t worry. Noah is experienced in handling cases and he’s a competent fighter, too. He will be fine.” Nina held the older woman’s cold hand in a gesture of comfort.
“My car is over there across the street.” She pointed over to the other side of the road, which was a much quieter area in the neighborhood.
The Fragrance Restaurant, on the other hand, was a popular spot. A lot of people dined there all times of the day, and the cars kept coming and going. As a result, the parking lot was like an arena, where only strong contenders could claim a parking space. And so, on this day, Nina had no choice but to park a street over from the restaurant.
The pedestrian light turned green and the two women began to cross the street.
Unbeknownst to them, somewhere nearby, someone was taking stock of their every move.
In the black car sat a gorgeous woman, and her lips were twisted in disdain, her black eyes full of resentment.
It was Isabella, and she had been glaring at Kristina for a good while now.
Since that fateful day she witnessed Kristina and Albert in the middle of an affair, she had spent day and night fantasizing about tearing the other woman apart.
She could never allow any other woman to be with Albert, the love of her life.
As it was, Isabella had been following Kristina secretly for a week. She thought she finally got a good chance because Kristina went out alone today, but Noah suddenly turned up. She had no choice but to keep trailing them, up until this point.
Noah unexpectedly left, and now there was just Nina and Kristina.
Two women who had always been on Isabella’s blacklist.
Nina had seduced Albert on the campus, and then Kristina seduced him after he left the campus.
‘These two hideous women. Bitches!’
Today, she was given a chance to teach a lesson not only to Kristina, but also to Nina. It was just as well. It would be best if both of them were injured severely and became disabled after being mauled over by Isabella’s car.
Her eyes still throwing daggers at her target, Isabella stepped on the accelerator and the car sped down the street.
She was headed directly towards Kristina and Nina.
And she screamed the entire time. “Get out of the way! The brake isn’t working! Get out of the way!”
By the time Nina’s and Kristina’s attentions were caught, the speeding vehicle was almost upon them.
Kristina’s legs trembled in fear, and her face turned pale.
Nina was also frozen in shock.
And the car was getting closer and closer.
