MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 79
Nina’s face was still red. She was breathing hard as she said, “I set an alarm clock at half past eleven. From now on, I will remind you to go to bed every night.
And it’s now half past eleven. Let’s go to bed, John.”
Nina kept the regular lifestyle of John in mind and set the alarm clock to remind him to go to bed.
John was at a loss after hearing her words.
So they were just going to sleep?
Their romantic moment was messed up by Helen yesterday, and now it was messed up by Nina.
She lit the fire herself, but she wasn’t even trying to help him put it out. How could such a wife exist?
John’s heart sank, and his body temperature gradually dropped to normal. He pursed his lips and closed his eyes.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Seeing that he actually listened to her and was even trying to sleep without protests, Nina felt gratified. It looked like she had done the right thing after all.
So she had to take note of this so she could continue doing it in the future. Nina leaned towards John and slowly closed her eyes.
She really carried out this matter to the end, and John had failed to make love to her for a week. He finally understood the reason why she was so stubborn to go to bed on time.
When John knew the truth, he didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry. Should he say that his little girl treated him well, or that she was so stupid?
But recently, he had no time to think about these things. He was busy with the overseas business of the Song Group. He was always going out early and returning late.
Every night when he returned home, Nina had already fallen asleep. But whenever he lay next to her, her body would automatically roll into his arms, and he would hold her.
Every morning when she woke up, John would give her a morning kiss, and Nina would return it. Then she would turn over and continue to sleep.
From Monday to Friday, Nina was busy with her study, and John was busy with his work. They lived like an old couple, and sometimes like a young couple in love. They stayed together whether at study or work.
John was also very busy on weekend, but Nina was a little free.
Just when she was thinking about how to find some fun, Noah called her. “Nini, do you have time tomorrow noon? My aunt wants to treat you to lunch.”
Nina considered it for a while. Recently, John had been too busy to even drop by at noon. He only came home around dinnertime in the evening, so she agreed. “Okay, tell me the time and place. I’ll be there.”
“See you tomorrow, Nini.”
“See you tomorrow.”
Nina smiled playfully and hung up the phone.
The next day, Nina arrived right on time. She wore a long, orange silk dress which made her look slimmer, coupled with a pair of three-inch heels. Her getup accentuated her figure perfectly.
Her slightly curly hair fell behind her ears like a waterfall, barely blocking a large part of her exposed skin. She wore light makeup that gave her a natural look, and chose a dainty pair of earrings to adorn the rest of her face.
They went to the private room on the top floor of the Fragrance Restaurant.
Nina had come here before. For the investment of three hundred million dollars, she had drunk wine and hit people.
Creak!
The waiter opened the door for her and said, “Ms. Lu, this way please.”
Nina nodded and followed his lead. Kristina was already seated at a table, and she waved warmly. “Nina, come and sit here.”
Kristina looked at Nina up and down, and was amazed by Nina’s appearance today. If the purple dress she wore before had made her look noble and elegant, then this simple slip dress made her seem more intellectual.

She had always thought that Nina was not simple. She was a woman of dignity and cultivation.
Even if she was born in a poor family, she could live a great life in the future with her own efforts.
“Aunt Kristina,” Nina greeted her with a smile. “Isn’t Noah coming this noon?”
“He might be a little late. Aren’t you hungry? Why don’t we eat first? Don’t wait for him, he is very busy in the police station. He has been transferred back from Spring City, but he didn’t even tell me. I’m sure he did it on purpose to worry me every day,” Kristina muttered crossly.
When she was angry, Noah came in with two gifts in his hands.
“Aunt Kristina, Haven’t I told you?”
“Humph!” Kristina glared at him. “If it weren’t for Nina here, you wouldn’t even have contacted me.”
Noah smiled broadly and scratched his head with embarrassment.
This was how he was when he faced with Kristina, who had taken care of him since he was a child. He was less mature and steady, and more childish.
Although Kristina was only two years older than him, she always used that age gap to coddle him.
“Aunt Kristina, don’t be angry. This is a gift for you.” Noah took out a small square gift box and handed it to her.
Then he turned around and produced a bigger box and presented it to Nina.
“Nini, these are your beloved lollipops. Just transfer the money to me on WeChat.”
“Thank you, Noah. How did you know that I’ve run out of lollipops? I had intended to ask you for them today.”
When Nina opened it, she saw twenty-four lollipops. They all looked beautiful and delicious.
She closed the lid and said, “But I can’t only give you a measly twelve dollars this time. I heard from Albert that they’re expensive. You have to tell me how much money I should give you so that I can accept these with ease.”
Noah pulled out a chair and sat down. He poured a cup of tea and said, “Are you sure? They would be very expensive.
There are twenty-four lollipops. If each lollipop costs a hundred dollars, then you’ll have to give me two thousand and four hundred.”
He handed the tea he poured to the two women as he spoke.
“Two thousand and four hundred. Okay. I’ll transfer it to you now.” Nina tucked the box in her bag and did just as she said. Kristina quietly watched them from the side. She was quite satisfied with a girl like Nina. She could not help feeling a twinge of regret.
Such a gem of a girl, and she now belonged to John. Kristina scowled at Noah. “You obviously have your biases, don’t you? Why is my gift so small?”
“Aunt Kristina, the smaller gifts are the most exquisite,” Nina interjected, fluttering her eyelashes.
“Auntie, you like pearls, right?” Noah asked. “I found these in the sea of Spring City myself, taken out of an old clam. These are rare pink pearls.”
“You took the pearls yourself? And these are pink pearls?” Kristina’s eyes brightened at once. She liked pearls and diamonds the most. The pink pearls were especially beautiful.
She quickly opened the box to reveal two shining pink pearls, which seemed to be carrying a message.
Noah had always hoped that his aunt would not pay too much attention to her career, and instead spend some time looking for a romantic partner to spend her life with.
Nina guessed Noah’s intention, and she was amazed that not only was he mature and steady, but he was also gentle and considerate.
Looking at the older woman holding the pink pearls with clear adoration, Nina smiled softly. It appeared that Kristina was a little girl deep inside as well.
Then, out of the blue, Kristina turned to her. “Nina, how about I give you one of these?”
