MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 78
Nina shook Helen’s arm and began to act like a spoiled child.
Michelle always acted like this in front of Nina, and the latter couldn’t help but give in. So she guessed this would work on Helen too.
“Helen, just tell me!”
It was the first time that Helen had seen Nina act like this. Although it was kind of weird, it was better than her usual icy demeanor.
John really got a treasure.
“Okay, okay. Just dial it back, alright? For starters, he likes it quiet, so I’m the only servant in the North Yard. After you came, he has hired more servants. He eats light. As long as he gets the nutrients he needs, he is happy. He goes to bed at 11:30 p.m. every night and got up at 6:30 in the morning. But it’s been hard to predict his schedule since you got here,”
Helen said seriously, which made Nina blush.
It was her fault.
“He is a proud and dignified guy. He doesn’t like people who are not good-looking. To be honest, he has exquisite taste. He thinks that ordinary people don’t deserve him, so he has been staying away from women.
You’re so beautiful and talented. No wonder he likes you,” Helen said jokingly. But she immediately realized that was inappropriate. She quickly recovered and said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t say that he just likes you for your looks. I didn’t mean that. Just ignore me, okay? I get like that sometimes.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Nina didn’t care. Instead, she smiled.
Because she was hot for him too, in the beginning.
Then she started developing feelings for him. Love was always like that.
“Thank you, Helen. I get it.” Nina had already learned something, and she would gradually understand the rest.
John liked quiet, a light diet, a regular lifestyle, was somewhat conceited, and wanted a woman who was beautiful and talented.
She thought she might be that woman.
She got her good looks from her parents. Not only that, they hired many masters to teach her many things. She should be accomplished enough for him.
“I need to learn how to apply make-up.” After putting make-up on the agenda, Nina went upstairs and put all the cosmetics she bought online on the dresser.
She found a video tutorial for the makeup, and began to learn.
After John came back, he went upstairs. Before he opened the door, he heard a sound from inside. Through the crack of the door, he saw Nina pouring the contents of bottles into her hand and applying them to her face. She looked quite earnest.
The window was open. The sun’s rays found their way in, and her shadow could be seen on the floor.
The brilliance of the sun was still not as dazzling as her beauty.
Instead of disturbing her, John entered the study to work.
At six o’clock in the evening
Helen came out of the kitchen with a porcelain bowl filled with fresh monkfish soup. She set the table, knocked on the door of the study, and then went upstairs to the master bedroom to let Nina know.
John raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose. He closed his sore eyes and came out about five minutes later.
As soon as he arrived in the living room, he saw a graceful figure sitting at the table. She wore a black slip dress which fell around her ankles. She crossed her legs, and the dress split to expose her ivory thighs.
John frowned. He couldn’t remember her ever owning such a thing.
The only thing he let her buy was a slip dress, but not like that.
He took another look and realized she’d cut it herself.
She was really pushing it.
Hearing the footsteps, Nina remembered what to do. She’d rehearsed it enough. With a mysterious smile, she slowly turned her head to look at John. She leaned forward, putting her elbows on the table, head resting in one hand. The woman smiled at him.
“Helen cooked up some monkfish. It’s yummy. You should eat more.” Nina opened her red lips slightly. Her voice was a little different than usual. It was like a romantic song. The simplest sentence sounded so sexy.
She had gathered her hair and tied it—a few strands hung loosely near her ears. When a breeze came, it would stir her hair like it would stir a man’s heart.
Her swan-like neck was fair, and the black mole on her clavicle made every inch of her skin look like new fallen snow.
John paused and swallowed.
He had always been calm and had a poker face. Instead of sitting next to Nina, he sat opposite her.
“Why don’t you sit next to me?” Nina looked at the seat beside her. Didn’t he always sit there?
John said calmly, “I don’t like the smell of makeup.”
Nina sniffed and said, “It shouldn’t smell like anything. I don’t wear perfume, nor do I have any rouge or much else. Why do you think there might be a scent?”

She traced her brows with a pencil, and wore tomato-colored lipstick. It was supposed to convey tenderness. Although it was so simple, it amazed John.
When he met her the first time, he was willing to get close to her, and found that he liked her.
He liked her a lot. John knew that he didn’t want to screw this up, so he held his baser instincts in check.
He hoped that it was deep love, not just lust.
“I thought you liked fish. Here, have some!” John picked up a piece of fish and put it in the bowl in front of her, indicating her to eat.
Looking at the fish, Nina had mixed feelings.
Didn’t he like beautiful things?
Didn’t her beauty meet his standards?
Or was it because she didn’t look good in this dress?
Rolling her dark eyes, Nina touched her face and then looked down at her dress.
She didn’t find anything wrong. Glancing at her movements out of the corner of his eye, John wanted to laugh, but he endured not to laugh and sat next to her.

“Or would you prefer soup?” John filled her bowl with soup and held it to her lips.
Nina wanted to say something, but when she looked at his calm eyes, she pouted and used a spoon.
John hadn’t shown any affection for her. What was wrong with her? Was it the fact that it was dinnertime? Or something else?
This question had troubled Nina for a while now. She still thought about it after taking a shower. She lay down in bed. If she couldn’t think with her eyes open, she would think with her eyes closed. But it still didn’t make any sense.
She didn’t know when John had finished his shower, but soon enough he was lying down as well. John held her in his arms and asked, “Penny for your thoughts. What are you thinking about?”
The man’s low voice was a little hoarse, and Nina came back to her senses. She turned and looked at the man beside her, and she touched his cold chest.
“A cold shower? Again?”
“Yes.” John took her hand from his chest and kissed it gently. “Go to sleep.”
Every night, John would make love to her before going to bed, but today, he went straight to sleep.
There must be something wrong!
Nina’s brain spun rapidly, and an idea occurred to her. She arched her head into his arms, and kissed him with her eyes closed.
All of a sudden, John’s body tensed. He opened his eyes, Adam’s apple rolling. Suddenly, he smiled.
She asked for it.
The man turned over, and Nina chuckled. She closed her eyes and put her arms around his neck.
The temperature in the room rose, and there was a blazing tenderness.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Nina’s phone suddenly vibrated. It was eleven thirty.
“Wait!” Nina pushed the man away, grabbed her phone and showed him the time. “John, it’s half past eleven. You should get to sleep.”
Nina raised her hand and pushed the man aside so he could lie down. She pulled the quilt over him. “It’s bedtime! Good night!”
He was absolutely flabbergasted by her behavior.
And aroused, too.
