MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 71
“Of course I want to know. I’d like to see who was so bold,” John said in a malicious voice, glancing around at everyone.
All of a sudden, the whole department fell into a dead silence. They lowered their heads to avoid John’s fierce gaze. In that moment, John being that angry seemed like the most harrowing thing in the world.
“I’ll give you thirty seconds. You better give yourself up. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude to you.” His resolute voice sounded. This was actually his greatest mercy.
The crowd stood still in a row, sweating.
Nina paced up and down the row, glaring at each individual. After a few minutes, she suddenly stopped by a chubby man and turned her head to stare at him.
The fat man was so terrified that he was almost brought to his knees. “Mrs. Shi, I’m not the traitor. Absolutely not. Mr. Shi, please trust me. I’m really, really not. I would never betray the company.”
His reaction was so genuine that Nina was actually beginning to believe him. Curiously, a young guy beside the fat man breathed a sigh of relief and stood up straight.
The young man thought that he had escaped with his treachery but little did he know, Nina noticed his every move. Nina smiled slightly and regained her composure. She asked the fat man a question, playfully. “Don’t panic. I just want to ask you a question. How much do you earn a month?”
Everyone was stunned.
They weren’t expecting such a trivial question
The fat man was stunned and didn’t answer. Instead, Henry explained, “People in different positions get different salaries. For example, he is a security engineer, responsible for reviewing the codes, rules and testing loopholes. His monthly take-home salary is about thirty thousand dollars.”
“Oh, thirty thousand. That’s not much money.” With a deep sigh, she walked up to the young man and asked doubtfully, “Don’t you agree?”
The young man became nervous and his body tensed up. He couldn’t look Nina in the eye, starting to feel short of breath. He didn’t think he’d be found out so soon.
“Not bad. Thirty thousand a month is quite a lot,” the young man answered, pretending to be calm.
Nina nodded, “I think thirty thousand a month is too little for you to afford such luxurious shampoo.”
The panic in the young man’s eyes disappeared in an instant. “Mrs. Shi, what do you mean?”
Nina frowned and looked at the young man. “The brand of the shampoo you are using is really expensive, right? Even if you don’t eat or drink for a month, you still wouldn’t be able to afford it. You’re too concentrated on material things when you really should be paying more attention to your character.”
When she said there was a traitor in the department, she noticed that the young man’s expression changed, oddly enough. When she walked around just now, she smelled the shampoo on his hair and it was far too familiar.
Noah used this exact same shampoo.
“Mrs. Shi, don’t be ridiculous. How can I be a traitor?” The young man smiled and refused to admit to his actions. “You have to have some evidence.”
“Evidence? Okay.” Nina sat in front of his computer. As long as she found a loophole in the defense system, he wouldn’t be able to deny it anymore. ‘Why don’t you just admit it?
Then I wouldn’t have to find the evidence,’ she thought.
There was a flash of arrogance in the young man’s eyes. Would he really be that careless with the evidence?
Obviously he would have already cleared it.
Nina was searching but everything was cleared. She couldn’t find a trace.
This man was smart, but Nina was smarter.
Restoring data was a piece of cake for hackers like Nina.
A minute later, Nina said effortlessly, “I’ve found it. Here’s the loophole in your defense system. This is his program.”
The department manager walked over to confirm as his face darkened. “It’s really you!”

He was exposed. Unfortunately for him, John was going to deal with him personally.
After sending Nina back to the North Yard, John went out to the punishment room.
It was an eerie room that was used specifically for punishing people who had offended John. It resembled somewhat of a leisure bar and had some glass storefront walls.
There were only two rooms inside because no one could enjoy this kind of leisurely and comfortable treatment for more than a day here.
Some people couldn’t even stay here for a few hours.
However, there are exceptions to any rule. Ellison, who kidnapped and did unspeakable things to Nina, had stayed here for more than half a month.
He lay on the soft sofa in rags. He had lost his hands and feet and had multiple broken bones. He was completely immobile.
The skin on his face was festering, but he still didn’t tell them who had ordered him to carry out his mission.
This environment could only torture his will at this point, since his body was already destroyed.
Ellison was tortured incessantly with a lot of wounds engulfing his body. Every time he was on the brink of death, he would be resuscitated by a doctor and the torture would begin again.
He lay quietly on the sofa, with a lifeless gaze in his eyes.
It was not until there was the sound of footsteps that he moved his eyes and looked for the source of the noise.
A young was taken to the opposite glass room. Not long after, John also came, walking with heavy stomps.
Ellison closed his eyes and trembled. “He still didn’t tell you?” John asked, looking over at Ellison. Richard replied, “No.”
John stared at the broken figure of Ellison and said, “You didn’t treat him badly enough. He likes to drug women, so drug him every day and see how he likes it.”
“Yes, Mr. Shi.”
Expressionlessly, John walked into the room where the traitor was imprisoned, and looked down at the trembling young man.
“Tell me, who sent you here?” John cut straight to the point, without wasting any time. “If you don’t tell me quickly, I’ll cut your fingers off.”
“Wh-what? Cut my fingers off?” The young man’s face turned pale. His hands gave him his livelihood. Without his hands, he was worthless.
The young man knelt on the floor and began to grovel. “Mr. Shi, I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”
“Who sent you?”
“I…I…” Thinking of the cruelty of the people who sent him, the young man couldn’t help but stutter uncontrollably, “Mr. Shi, please forgive me. I can’t tell you. I dare not say.”
“Cut them,” John said coldly.
Richard immediately sieved him and pinned the young man’s hands on the table, picked up the fruit knife and cut the young man’s fingers off one by one.
“Ah! Ah! Ah!” His screams were deafening, but it was pointless. Nobody could come to save him now.
The fresh red blood with the accompanying smell mad John turn up his nose. “Tell me!”
“I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you.” The young man was in so much pain that he nearly fainted. “It’s Albert from the Song family. He ordered me to do it.”
