MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 67
John was at a loss whether to cry or to laugh. He could only lie down and let Nina use his hand as a heater.
During the night, John’s body gradually felt hotter. He felt restless and couldn’t sleep. His vision started to get hazy, and his hair was disheveled. Even worse, he started having difficulty breathing. After a deep, slow breath, John gradually closed his eyes.
Nina liked to sleep with the window open because she liked the feeling of the fresh air in the room. Spring had just ended. The night wind was not that cold yet; it was still sufficiently warm.
Sleeping beside John, Nina felt that it was too hot to be wrapped in a blanket. So, she kicked the blanket and pushed it down to her belly.
However, she still felt stuffy somehow. Feeling uncomfortable, she frowned and muttered absentmindedly, “Brother, stay away from me.”
Before Nina was five years old, she liked to sleep next to her brother, who was only around four years older than her.
Their family allowed them to sleep beside each other because they were still young at that time.
John was perplexed.
‘Brother?
Did she have a brother?’ John asked himself.
Now that he thought about it, Jessica seemed a little patronizing earlier during the family dinner when she asked how much he actually knew about Nina. He couldn’t help but frown at the thought.
He knew what kind of person Nina was, but it was true that she didn’t reveal much of her past and family background.
The only thing that he was sure about was that Nina’s family background was not simple, but he couldn’t really verify that.
When Richard was in Spring City, John specifically ordered Richard to investigate the people whose surname was Lu. He found two wealthy families with the same surname. Upon further investigation, they found no connection between Nina and either of the families.
In the end, he only discovered that she owned a villa by the sea, which was worth eight million dollars. The villa was surrounded by high-tech security systems; no trespasser could approach the estate.
“Who are you, Nina?” John whispered, but no one answered.
Since she didn’t know Nina’s true identity, he couldn’t help but feel wary as he looked at her sleeping face. Confused, he let out a sigh.
Unlike ordinary people who could live a simple life, John was one of the most influential and wealthiest people in the city. He was envied but a lot of people.
He had always been careful around women. Richard and others protected him so that no one else could approach his villa. There were GPS and pinhole cameras installed in all of his vehicles. To ensure his safety, his location and actions were displayed at all times on the screens in the monitoring room. Richard and the other bodyguards would keep an eye on him.
He really didn’t want to think about it, but the fact that Nina’s identity was still a mystery meant that he had to be cautious about her.
She was a well-known painter and a brilliant student of Professor Gu.
One could say that Nina was not just any ordinary person.
However, it was clear that these identities still said nothing about her actual background.
“I just hope I’m wrong about this.” John leaned forward and planted a gentle kiss on the tip of her nose.
It felt itchy.
Feeling something brush up against her nose, Nina frowned again and twitched her nose. “Brother, if you tickle me with the swan feather again, I will kick you out. Don’t test me.”
“Swan feather?” Her words sounded familiar, but he couldn’t figure out why.
Distracted by his thoughts, he didn’t notice Nina moving, and her head suddenly hit John’s forehead.
He frowned in pain.
‘Are you planning to murder your own husband?’
Before John could react, he was covered by the blanket. Nina planted her hands and feet around him so that he couldn’t escape.
She did it as if she had done it many times.
Of course, when she was a child, she often dealt with her brother in this way, and it worked.
John was wrapped tightly, and his hands and feet were unable to move.
“I told you to stay away from me, but you didn’t listen to me,” Nina murmured softly. She was still asleep, it seemed. Stunned, John tried to wriggle out of the blanket, but he found that he couldn’t move at all.
It was his fault. He didn’t listen to other people’s advice about how he shouldn’t offend a girl on her period.
Nina had always been strong, and he knew it.

After struggling for a long time, he finally gave up.
Nina just kept him pinned under the blanket. He had already given up; he just lay in the bed motionlessly, his face flushed.
His face was red because it was hot under the blanket.
When Nina woke up the next morning, the first thing she noticed was John’s wet hair. Quickly, she shook him to wake him up.
“Going to sleep with wet hair will make you sick.”
Breathing a sigh of relief, John lifted the blanket off of him. The cool breeze openly welcomed him, and he took it all in. He opened his eyes.
“Are you awake?” He turned his head to look at her and felt relieved.
“Well, thank you for what you did last night. You must have had a hard time,” Nina said and smiled. She was talking about how he warmed her belly with her hand.
“Yes, it was pretty hard.”
He was talking about being wrapped with the blanket like a burrito and sweating profusely due to the heat. However, seeing Nina’s energetic expression, he felt that the struggle was worth it.
Still, John wanted Nina to make it up to him.
Then, he stood up, held Nina in his arms, and kissed her for a while before finally letting her go.
After what happened last night, he decided to sleep in the guest room until next week. He told that Nina that he was afraid that he couldn’t control himself while she was asleep. It was better for them since she wasn’t feeling well.
Nina went to college to attend classes every day. After class, she would take a taxi at random. The driver would take her to the Time Group and get a large sum of money.
She wanted to seize this business opportunity and decided to invite James to join her in her venture.
Due to the rumor that said Nina was James’ ex-girlfriend, John took all the money back. As a result, James became extremely poor.
Now that there was an excellent opportunity for him to make money, of course, he readily agreed.
On a sunny afternoon, they earned two hundred thousand. While the two of them were laughing together, a big hand appeared with a black card between two fingers.
“Here you are. No limit.” It was John.
Taking the black card, Nina had no choice but to spend the money instead of earning some money herself.
One day, when Nina was buying cosmetics, she noticed Kristina from a distance, and remembered that she had something important to do.
She had promised to send a message to Noah for Kristina, so she contacted him through the WeChat app.
After a while, Noah asked her if they could meet in a coffee shop.
It was quiet on the second floor of the coffee shop. There was nobody else there except for Noah and Nina.
It had been a while since she saw Noah. His hair was longer now, and his skin got a little tanner. He must have spent time under the sun a lot these days.
Perhaps he recently visited the coastal area in the south.
There was also a mixture of different scents on his body, which meant that he went to a place packed with people before arriving at the coffee shop.
Perhaps he had gone to the bus station.
He looked tired and worn.
“Did you just come back after handling cases in other places?” Nina asked as she put two spoons of sugar in her coffee.
Noah took a small sip of his coffee and felt much better. Then, he replied, “It’s not a case. I went to Spring City. I just came back today.”
Surprised, Nina asked, “Spring City?” It was as if hearing the name of the city caught her interest.
Shrugging, he said, “Nothing. However, I’ve heard of something important.” Noah looked at Nina in the eye. “It has something to do with you.”
Upon hearing his word, Nina stopped stirring her coffee. She pursed her lips and raised her brow slightly.
She seemed to have already guessed about what it was about.
Still, she acted like she was oblivious. She tilted her head to the side and asked innocently, “What do you mean?”
With worry in his voice, Noah started to explain, “The little princess of C Island escaped from home about two years ago. Her whereabouts were unknown for a while. However, I heard that someone found her in Spring City about half a month ago.”
