MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND - Season 2 Episode 56
Hearing this, Isabella shook her head and explained, “We used to be friends, but not anymore.
Nina seems to look down on me these days.”
Isabella heard how aggrieved Jessica was when she found out that Nina was married to John. She actually fainted because she was so enraged.
This could only mean that Jessica hated Nina. Another factor was that Vivian said Jessica treated her as her sister-in-law, so she was definitely Jessica’s first choice as John’s wife.
Isabella was terrified of irritating Jessica so she had to explain herself.
“What? Just because she’s John’s wife, she thinks she can shun her friends?” Jessica always disliked Nina and this only added fuel to the fire.
Isabella hurriedly waved her hand with a trace of timidity in her eyes. “No, no. You’ve misunderstood Nina. If she hears about this, I’m afraid the Zhang family…”
She stopped herself before she said too much.
Vivian intently watched them talking. She thought she could possibly use Isabella in her scheme.
“Isabella, what are you afraid of?” Vivian said, seizing the moment. “I remember something. Did Nina have anything to do with Mr. Shi dealing with the Zhang family?”
Isabella looked down sadly and nodded.
Jessica had almost forgotten about that. She then recalled the whole thing. “Why did it have anything to do with Nina? I heard that you used James.”
James was Jessica’s nephew. She hated the thought that Isabella used her nephew.
Isabella explained frantically, “Things didn’t happen like that.”
She couldn’t explain the full story. She was too afraid that she would say more than she needed to. She helplessly looked over at Vivian.
Vivian frowned. She quickly said, “Jessica, how could Isabella be such a person? She knew that Nina is from the countryside and was still willing to be friends with her.”
She brought the attention back to Nina.
“You used to have a good relationship with Nina. You probably know her very well, right?” Jessica asked.
Vivian said gracefully, “Jessica, let’s have a seat, then you can ask anything you want to know.”
“Okay.”
As soon as the three of them sat down, Isabella started spilling out all the information. “When we were once good friends, she never hid anything from me, except her marriage with Mr. Shi.”
She wasn’t lying. Nina and Isabella used to be very open and honest no matter what they spoke about. However, at that time, Isabella was just using Nina to get close to Albert. She wasn’t too interested in prying into Nina’s life.
“Humph! Marriage.” Jessica snorted. “Is Nina just a countrywoman?”
Jessica didn’t know where Nina came from. The only reason she knew Nina was from a fishing village in Spring City was because the principal of the university spoke about it.
She wasn’t sure about any of it though.
Scared of Jessica’s steely glare, Isabella couldn’t muster even a white lie. “Nina isn’t actually a countrywoman. Nina told me that she has a house in a fishing village. I think it was left to her by her late parents.”
Isabella found out about it by complete chance. Nina would leave for Spring City every summer vacation. One year, Isabella asked about it and found out that she had a house there.
Isabella wasn’t actually sure about that last statement. She didn’t know if Nina was an orphan or whether her parents had died, she just knew that Nina had no family around and she was always alone.
Jessica thought for a while. She had found out that Isabella and Nina were good friends when she investigated Nina some time ago.
Therefore, Isabella had to be credible.

“A house isn’t telling me anything about her.” Jessica became more scornful. “Tell me what kind of person Nina is. Does she have any relationships with other men?”
Hearing this, Isabella’s eyes lit up in an instant. She seized the opportunity and began to belittle Nina. “She is the most beautiful girl in our university, but she is very arrogant and looks down on others. Aside from me, she has no friends.
Seemingly, she has no relationships with other men. She could have been a mistress before though. There were rumors flying around about this. I think she was a mistress to be honest. There’s no other way she could have had all that money.”
Isabella didn’t know that the man in the Four Seasons Garden Hotel was John, but Jessica did.
Hearing Isabella talk, Jessica’s face darkened. Where could Nina get the money? Of course, it was all her brother’s.
Jessica urged, “Go on.”
Isabella thought for a while and wondered whether she should tell Jessica that Nina seduced Albert and that Nina had an affair with James.
She knew that she couldn’t afford to offend the Song family and the Shi family.
Noticing Isabella’s hesitation, Vivian said, “Isabella, just tell us. It’s not going to be your fault.”
“Vivi is right. Just say what you want to say. No one will blame you.”
Isabella instantly felt more at ease. “Nina had an affair with Albert. And…”
She stopped.
“Tell me!” Jessica ordered coldly. Isabella said in a timid voice, “Before her marriage with Mr. Shi was made public, everyone in L University knew that she was James’ girlfriend.”
She didn’t mind revealing this anymore because everyone in the university already knew anyway.
“How dare she!” Jessica thumped the table. “Nina is such a whore. She seduced so many men, including James and now she is married to John.” Isabella and Vivian didn’t dare say anything.
Isabella lowered her eyes and chuckled. Vivian poured some wine gracefully, with a smile sprawled across her face.
Vivian’s scheme was playing out impeccably.
“Jessica, have a drink and calm down.” Vivian handed the wine glass to Jessica. Vivian had a menacing scowl, watching Jessica take the glass.
Jessica reached out and started drinking. It seemed that she completely believed what Isabella said.
After taking a sip of red wine, Jessica began calming down. She glared at Vivian and asked, “Why aren’t you anxious at all? Don’t you like my brother?”
Vivian, who was pouring the wine, paused for a moment and looked over at Jessica. “He already has a wife and I can’t interfere in his marriage. It will be disrespectful to even try.”
Vivian, once again, had an aura of sensibility about her. Even when she lost her beloved to another woman, she didn’t lose her demeanor as a graceful lady.
The more Vivian kept her cool, the more satisfied Jessica became. Only an elegant woman like Vivian could be a match for John.
“It is Nina who has interfered in your relationship. If it wasn’t for her, you would have been engaged by now.”
“Jessica…” Vivian raised her head, with tears welling up in her eyes.
Seeing Vivian so aggrieved, Jessica immediately said, “Vivi, go to the Stone Road with me tonight. I will help you take back what belongs to you.”
