MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 9
Noah was stunned. Someone urged, “Sir, you’d better take your wife to the hospital as soon as possible. She doesn’t look well.”
Noah looked at Nina’s drooping head with worry consuming him. He bent down and picked her up, striding towards the parking lot.
She was so dizzy. She squinted, trying to make out the figure before her.
Nina saw somewhat of a mixture of John’s and Noah’s faces intertwined and overlapping.
“No.” She knew that something was wrong.
Nina wasn’t used to being carried like this. It just felt off.
John never carried her in his arms like this. Most of the time, he slung her over his shoulder and let her lie there like a lifeless corpse.
Nina shook her head and snapped out of it, seeing the person holding her. “Noah?”
“Nini, don’t worry. I’m going to take you to the hospital.” Noah put her into the car and drove to the nearest hospital.
Still dazed, Nina slumped against the seat and fell asleep after battling her droopy eyelids to stay open.
Standing out on the street, Ford watched the car disappear around the corner. He looked on deeply as if his eyes could see through the buildings and he was still following the car.
The effect of the catalyst indicated that there was nothing wrong with M.C.
It seemed that it needed some external stimulation to take effect.
If Ford succeeded, one of his tasks would be done.
If all went according to plan, Nina would transfer all her emotions and memories to Noah and fall in love with him, completely forgetting John.
However, M.C. hadn’t taken effect in such a long time. He had only used two drops of the catalyst. He didn’t know if it would work.
Before they even reached the hospital, Nina’s dizziness slowly faded away like a receding tide. She struggled remembering what had just happened. The only thing Nina could recall was catching a thief with Noah before feeling dizzy. She didn’t have any idea what happened since or how she got in the car.
It was like her memory had been wiped.
The only time she ever experienced something like this was when she was held in Albert’s underground lab.
She had no idea how someone managed to knock her out, but she remembered waking up in John’s arms.
Feeling uneasy, Nina shut her eyes and desperately tried to jog her memory. She did everything in her power but for the life of her, she couldn’t recall those past few minutes.
She had this same feeling after getting blackout-drunk.
Although Nina said she was fine, Noah was still worried about her. He took her to the hospital for a series of checks, but in the end, they found nothing.
The doctor did say something slightly strange though.
She picked up her coat, walked up to Nina and wrapped it around her waist. She whispered in Nina’s ear, “Little girl, don’t drink when you’re on your period. It’s not good for your health.”
“What?” Nina was a little stunned and began to feel uncomfortable, realizing how sticky she felt.
She blushed realizing how embarrassing this was. Luckily it was a female doctor at least.
This wasn’t the first time Nina was caught off guard. Whenever she was focused on something, nothing could distract her from it and now it seemed that she didn’t even realize what was happening with her own body.
How could she not notice her period?
“Thank you.” Nina reached out and fastened the coat a little to cover her pants. She pursed her lips awkwardly trying to compose herself.
Noah didn’t even notice though. He just asked the doctor, “She was incredibly dizzy a moment ago and recovered in minutes. What happened?”
“According to the examination results, there is nothing wrong with her body except a slight fever. This could have caused the dizziness or maybe it was the drinking.” The doctor looked at Nina and asked, “Does drinking usually affect you badly?”
Nina said frankly, “Very badly.”
“Well, girls shouldn’t drink on their period,” the doctor said. “Well your health is fine. Just drink some hot water after you get home.”
Noah instantly felt the stress lift out of his body. “That’s good.”
Nina anxiously said, “I didn’t drink today.”
The doctor replied, “There were traces of alcohol in your blood though.”
Noah instantly tried to make sense of this. “Some of the dishes we ate had alcohol in them.”
That seemed plausible. Since there was nothing wrong with Nina, they left the hospital.

Nina didn’t dwell on this anymore, nor did Noah tell her that she had mistaken him as John.
Noah just thought it was natural that the first person that came to her head was John.
After all, they were a couple.
Thinking of this, Noah felt a little upset but had to hide it behind his hardy exterior.
“Nini, I parked a little far away. Do you think you’re able to walk that far?”
“Yeah, I’m okay. I really didn’t expect to pass out just because of a few dishes that had some wine in them.” Nina was at a loss whether to cry or to laugh.
“Luckily it was nothing more serious.”
‘I usually beat people after getting drunk.
There were so many people on the street. Thank God I didn’t beat them.’ Nina stopped herself. She didn’t even want to think about it.
“I heard that.” Noah chuckled.
Nina coughed, trying to hide her embarrassment.
The tests at the hospital took quite a while and by the time they left, the night had already engulfed the sky. The street was smothered in the hustle and bustle of all the pedestrians walking around, under the bright streetlights.
There was a girl carrying a basket of roses. Some water was sprinkled on them, and the crystal water drops shone under the light.
“Sir, why not buy your girlfriend a bunch of roses? I’ll give you a good price.”
“Why are there so many people selling roses today?” Nina asked in confusion. Noah was more confused than Nina. “What day is it today?”
“May 20th.” What was so special about today? It was just an ordinary day.
Obviously for some people like James and Emma, it was their special day. They were out celebrating right now in fact. With her eyes wide open, the girl handed a rose to Nina and said in a sweet voice, “Miss, today is a day for lovers. You deserve some roses at least.”
“A day for lovers?” Nina had never heard of this before. She turned to look at Noah only to see him nodding.
“Today is a day for lovers. What about July 7th?” Nina blinked blankly. She was still too surprised to understand any of this.
Noah nodded, “That’s also for lovers. July 7th, May 20th and February 14th are all for lovers.”
Nina’s mouth twitched.
Why were there so many days for lovers?
No wonder there were so many people falling in love all the time.
Looking at the passersby, Nina felt uneasy. She wasn’t Noah’s girlfriend.
“We are brother and sister, not a couple. There is no need for roses, thank you.” Noah dismissed the girl.
Nina looked around and saw so many boys giving girls flowers. She asked Noah curiously, “Girls can also give boys flowers, right?”
Noah replied, “You want to get John flowers?”
“Yes, today is a day for lovers, isn’t it?” Nina called little girl back and bought a rose from her.
She wanted to give it to John.
She wondered whether John would love it.
She held the flower proudly in her hand and continued walking with a smile. Noah occasionally glanced at Nina, walking beside her.
The streets were packed with people celebrating, and it just so happened that James and Emma were there too.
What was glaringly obvious to James was that Nina held a rose in her hand.
He frantically called John, wanting to spill the beans. He didn’t dare tell John that Nina was with another man so he decided to be a little more subtle.
“Uncle John, didn’t you celebrate the festival with Aunt Nina today?”
