MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 58
When Nina and Chester walked out of the library, Michelle was standing by the door and waving at the two of them.
“Nini, here.”
“Let’s go, Chester. It’s almost dinner time.” Nina took Chester to meet Michelle and planned to go to a nearby supermarket to buy groceries.
Michelle was holding a white paper bag in her hand. When Chester approached her, she handed the bag to him and said, “Here you go, Chester.”
Chester stared at the bag and made no move to take it. There was confusion mixed in with the gratitude in his eyes. “I did nothing to merit any reward.”
Michelle grinned, revealing two cute canine teeth. “You’re so cute!”
“Chester, you can take the gift from Aunt Michelle.” Hearing Nina’s words, Chester reached out his hand to take the bag and politely bowed. “Thank you, Aunt Michelle.”
There was no expression on his face—not even the usual excitement children showed when then receive gifts. Even so, Chester’s disciplined demeanor made Michelle happy.
“Little Chester, you are so cute. I like you so much. Oh, and you shouldn’t call me Aunt Michelle—my cousin and your brother are dating.” Michelle reached out to pinch his face, but Chester didn’t really like other people touching him so he ducked on reflex to evade her hand.
However, he realized that Michelle was a good friend of Nina’s, so he straightened up and stood there, letting Michelle do what she wanted.
Michelle touched Chester’s milk-like and smooth skin and rubbed it affectionately. “He is just so adorable. Nini, you should give birth to your own baby soon so that I can pinch your baby’s face. For sure, your baby is going to be as cute as Chester here.”
There was a short pause. “Mimi, I’m not pregnant.” Even though Nina had explained many times that she wasn’t pregnant, the other woman disregarded it. It was like Michelle only heard what she wanted to hear.
In order to take good care of Nina’s health, Michelle insisted on cooking her meals for her.
Seeing how red Chester’s face was turning as he suffered all of Michelle’s pinching, Nina pulled him to her side and said, “I don’t want my child to be pinched like this. Look, Chester’s face looks painfully red.”
“Hey! I was just doing it lightly. I did not use any force at all!” As if to demonstrate her point, Michelle stretched out her hand and pinched Chester’s face again.
“It doesn’t hurt,” said Chester calmly. He said it for Nina’s sake.
“See, Chester said that it didn’t hurt.” Michelle happily stood beside Chester and took his hand as they walked forward.
It was as if Michelle was holding a child who had just begun to walk.
However, Chester was already ten years old.
Chester wondered why everyone treated him like a child while he was staying with Nina.
“Mimi, what’s in it?” Nina changed the topic to distract Michelle from all pregnancy talk.
Michelle had never been pregnant before, but she seemed to know a lot about the subject.
She always imparted her knowledge to Nina.
“The prize I won was a Lego Star Wars set.” Michelle looked at Chester with a smile. “I heard from Nini that you like watching Star Wars, so I’m giving it to you.”
‘How does Aunt Nina know that I like Star Wars?’ Chester thought. He looked up in surprise.
“Chester, everyone has their own likes and dislikes. That is okay.” Nina had been paying close attention to Chester’s physical and mental development. She noticed that he had never shown any enthusiasm for a particular item, hobby, or activity because Sam did not allow him to spend time and energy on anything other than study.
This made her think of John. When he was young, he spent all his time on studies. Thus, he couldn’t have any interests or make any friends at the time.
That was not the proper way to raise a child. The truth was, such a rigid upbringing would destroy a child’s happiness.
“You are more advanced compared to many of your peers right now. In September, you will be attending B University and studying with classmates who are seven or eight years older than you.” For Chester, Nina always seemed like a gentle mother.
With an innocent smile on his lips, Chester said, “Thank you, Aunt Nina. Thank you, Michelle.”
Michelle said happily, “You’re welcome, Chester. Ah, he’s just too cute, Nini!”
“Hey, we’re of the same age! How come he calls you by your name while he calls me Aunt Nina? I feel so old.” Recently, Nina had been feeling aggrieved by this.
If Emma married James, she would call her Aunt Nina.
Michelle was Nina’s good friend, but Chester didn’t call her Aunt Michelle. That was unacceptable!
“You’re married to Uncle John,” Michelle and Chester said in unison.
Nina was speechless.
Their words were irrefutable.

The three of them chatted and laughed all the way to a nearby supermarket, where they met several acquaintances.
“Nina?” Adrian saw them and walked over to smilingly greet them.
Henry pushed the shopping cart toward their direction.
“Nina, Chester, Michelle! What are you guys doing here? What a coincidence!” A pleasant smile wreathed Adrian’s face as he greeted them.
“We’re here to get some groceries.” Nina glanced at his full shopping cart. “Are you here to buy food too?”
“Yes. The two of us will be having hot pot tonight.” Adrian turned around and placed a hand on Henry’s shoulder.
In the eyes of outsiders, they were good friends.
At least, both Michelle and Chester thought so.
Nina quirked up an eyebrow. “How about having dinner together? I also feel like having hot pot.”
“Of course.” Adrian patted his chest, gamely allowing Nina to invite herself and her companions.
Henry smiled and said, “Mrs. Shi, you don’t need to buy any food. We have bought enough for everyone.”
“You shouldn’t call her Mrs. Shi,” Adrian scolded Henry with a glare. “Call her Nina.”
Henry glanced at Adrian.
‘This opportunist!’
Michelle rolled her eyes and said, “Henry and Uncle John are good friends. He should call Nini by her name.”
Uncomfortable, Henry tried to call Nina by her name. “Nina.”
“There you go. Nina, am I right?” Adrian put his hand on Henry’s shoulder again. He liked doing this to feel safe.
Nina looked at Henry and Adrian, and only the three of them knew why Henry called her Nina. It was not because of his relationship with John, but because Adrian called her that first.
With a fake smile on her face, Nina nodded and thought to herself, ‘Emma will call me Aunt Nina in the future. Goodness!
This is all John’s fault! If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be called Aunt Nina. I feel like I’m so old.
But I’m just in my twenties.’
Chester looked around, pointed at the shelves full of instant noodles, and said, “Aunt Nina, I want to try that. I’ve never had that before.”
Nina said, “Okay. I’ll—”
“I’ll go get it,” Michelle interjected and turned around to grab several packs of instant noodles.
Other people were waiting for them. Then, Nina saw a girl, a classmate of hers, who stalked toward the shelves angrily.
“Excuse me, where are the instant noodles?” she asked one of the staff with a feral grin on her face. “You know, those crispy ones that will get break if you kneel on them.”
“Instant noodles? Kneel on them?” The saleswoman was confused.
The girl gritted her teeth and said, “Yes, I’m buying them for my boyfriend so that he can kneel on them. Don’t worry, I won’t waste food. He will have to eat all of the noodles if he breaks them while kneeling.”
“Ah, come with me. I’ll take you to them,” said the saleswoman with a stunned look.
The girl greeted Nina with a smile and left with a whole bag of instant noodles.
Nina’s eyes went wide.
“If he breaks the instant noodles while kneeling, he will have to eat them all. Thus, he has to keep some distance between the noodles and his knees. That would be very tiring.” Nina’s eyes lit up.
“She’s so smart.”
Everyone else was speechless.
They suddenly had a mental image of John’s future.
