Anger was prominent on John’s face as he sat in the helicopter.

Nina shivered as she raised her head and looked at John. “Honey, wait for me to bring them back here.”

The people below saw a nimble and agile silhouette of a gallant woman. It seemed she was descending from the sky. Her roughly tied hair swayed in the wind, and her unbound strands of hair swept through her face.

When she was less than half a meter away from the ground, Nina jumped and landed gently to the ground.

She glanced at the crowd around her and spotted James and Emma. She walked toward them.

When Nina passed by Alice, she heard a man whisper, “That is Nina Lu, Mr. Shi’s wife, the princess of C Island and the campus belle of L University. She’s a famous painter. Her artworks cost a pretty penny.

She is one of Emma’s friends. Just pray that Emma doesn’t mention you, Alice, or there will be hell to pay.”

The man clicked his tongue. He did not dare think about the consequences. Nina slowed down and gave a sharp and stern glance at Alice.

When Alice heard that, her temples began to throb in pain. She raised her head and met Nina’s eyes. Nina’s cold gaze made Alice’s heart skip a beat and she could not breathe.

Thinking of this, Nina turned around and walked towards the duo.

“Are you hurt?” When she got near them, Nina’s icy cold and relentless aura ebbed away. Her voice got way softer. “Whether you are injured or not, we have to take you to the hospital.”

“Aunt Nina is right. Let’s go to the hospital to have a checkup.” James anxiously bent down and picked up Emma.

“Actually, I’m fine.” Emma was taken aback by his sudden movement and held his neck tightly.

James smiled.

“The others are fine. What happened to you? Who is Alice?” Nina asked coldly. Emma was about to explain, but she shut her mouth the moment Nina mentioned Alice.

“Alice? What’s wrong? Why did you mention her?” James asked. He seemed confused about what was going on.

“Nothing,” Emma hesitantly said, shaking her head.

James became more suspicious.

“Wait! The person who asked you to buy milk tea was Alice!”

James exclaimed, fuming with anger.

“Who is Alice? Where is she? Come out!”

Alice hid somewhere in the crowd and did not have the courage to face them. Then James continued, “Aunt Nina, Alice doesn’t drink milk tea herself and yet she asked Emma to buy milk tea for her.

There are many milk tea shops nearby, but she insisted on making Emma buy it at Maple Road.”

“Oh? It seems that she did it on purpose.”

Nina turned around and gave Alice a terrifyingly cold stare through the crowd. She twisted her neck and made a scary clicking sound.

One by one, the people stood aside to expose Alice.

Alice was frightened. She tried to gulp her saliva down to stifle it, but the fear was obvious in her pale face. She was shaking and sweating profusely.

Her heart was colonized by pure terror.
“I…I…I don’t know!”

“You don’t know?” Nina walked towards her. With every step, Alice’s heartbeat hastened.

Nina came and stopped in front of her.

“You don’t know why you asked Emma to buy milk tea? Or you don’t know there would be an earthquake?” Nina did not give her a chance to speak and continued, “Earthquake is a natural disaster, so I wouldn’t blame you for that. Why did you ask Emma to buy milk tea?”
“I…” Alice was terrified. “I…I wanted to drink it.”

“You need an assistant? How about I give you an assistant?” Nina offered. The turn of events shocked everyone else in the vicinity.

Even Emma was shocked.

Nina took her phone and called John.

“John, I want to hire an assistant for some unknown actress. She looks pitiful, and even asked Emma to run an errand for her.”

“Tell me her name,” John said in a deep voice. He was angry at Nina, but still cooperated with her.

Nina breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that John had cooled down.

“Alice. She likes drinking milk tea very much. From now on, we will provide her three cups of milk tea for every meal in her day. What do you think?” Nina emphasized.

“Okay,” said John.

“Great.” Nina nodded with a smile. When she hung up, the smile on her face turned into a malicious and resentful expression.

“Your assistant will be here soon. I hope you have a good life.” Nina patted Alice on the shoulder.

“Ah…” After being patted by Nina, Alice writhed in pain and screamed. She slipped down from the chair and fell. Her left shoulder was sore with pain.

“You are so weak,” Nina stood straight and said mockingly.

Alice sat on the ground like a deflated ball.

She would have to drink three cups of milk tea in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. She would get so fat that no one would hire her for roles ever again. The assistant must be hired to monitor her.

Nina stared at John. “I was wrong,” she said reluctantly.

“What did you do wrong?” John asked. Nina didn’t know how worried John was when she jumped down from the helicopter.

John knew that she was tied to the safety rope,

but he was still afraid.

He was afraid of her putting herself in danger.

Nina was speechless. ‘Don’t push your luck!’ she thought.

The helicopter had risen to a certain height and was moving forward steadily. Some of the moving air went into Nina’s mouth.

It made her choke.

John pulled her up and held her in his arms. “Next time, tell me what you’re going to do before you do it.”

It took a few seconds for Nina to recover. “I’m sorry. I won’t make you worry like that again.”

“Okay.” John caressed her waist and let her go.

The S-76 was an all-weather, civil transportation helicopter. The cabin was spacious and comfortable. It could accommodate 12 people at most.

Emma changed into the dress Nina prepared for her. She then cleaned her face with a wet towel. She looked much better, but her fatigue was still so obvious.

She was up all night. She was sleepy. When Emma saw John, she bowed and nodded to express her gratitude. “Uncle John…”

This was the first time that Emma had called him like that.

“Hello, Emma,” John calmly greeted.

“Honey, what did you say just now?” James got excited upon hearing how Emma greeted John. He even introduced Nina to Emma without thinking. “This is Aunt Nina.”

Nina slapped James’ head.

‘Is he crazy? He even let one of my good friends call me Auntie?’ Nina thought with fury.
