Howard said coldly, “Young? Hardly. You’re already twenty-seven!”

“Mr. Shi didn’t get married till he was thirty. I have three years left. Why rush it?” Noah said slowly. He didn’t talk back, but told the truth.

“You…” Howard was speechless for a moment. “But you’re not Mr. Shi!” “What’s the difference?” Noah raised his eyebrows and glanced at everyone else calmly.

Vivian whispered, “Can you compete with Brother John?”

“Yes, I can,” Noah said calmly. “I have more money than him.”

Henry widened his eyes and didn’t know what to say.

He turned his head in disbelief and stared blankly at Noah’s profile.

This wasn’t like Noah at all.

This sounded familiar, but he couldn’t figure out where Noah had gotten such a harebrained idea.

After the meal, Noah and Henry left together. Henry couldn’t help asking, “What’s wrong with you today?”

“Wrong? You mean my saying I’m younger and richer than John?” Noah asked.

“Mm hmm.” Henry nodded.

This wasn’t Noah’s style at all. He was normally calm and steady. Right now, he sounded more like John and Nina.

The more he thought about it, the more certain he was.

This was how John and Nina talked.

Henry finally remembered why his belligerence sounded so familiar.

“Did Mrs. Shi tell you that?” John didn’t like Noah, so it couldn’t be him. He must have heard it from Nina.

Noah smiled, “You know her well.”

“I have to keep an eye on those two. Even if I ignore them, I can still see how shameless they are.” Henry was getting graver and graver since he had left John. He liked pushing people’s buttons.

But what he said was true.

John and Nina were so conceited. Noah felt the pangs of jealousy. Henry got way more time with Nina than he did.

Noah was busy with work and could only see Nina once in a while. Every time they met each other, John would call Nina without stop as if Noah would take his wife away.

Sometimes Noah found it funny, but he can understand. If Nina were his wife, he would also keep careful tabs on her. He wouldn’t let her spend too much time with another guy.

“On Children’s Day, Nini gave me a box of snacks. She wanted me to celebrate with her. I said it was a festival for kids. She told me I’m still young and not even thirty yet. She said I could celebrate Children’s Day.

I told her some of my classmates are 27 and have two kids already. She said I shouldn’t worry about it. John wasn’t married until he was thirty. I have three years left.”

He thought of that day, when the box sat on his desk in the police station. His fellow officers were jealous of him and made fun of him for it.

But it meant a lot to Noah. It stirred something in his restless heart, and he was deeply touched.

No one had given him a gift in such a long time.

Henry knew it was true. It was Nina’s style.

“Did she tell you that you are richer than John too?”

Noah looked at Henry in surprise. “Got it in one!”

“It’s not a big deal.” Henry felt a sense of accomplishment. “She must have seen the rich list too. She’s interested in anything relating to Mr. Shi.”

“So I’m really richer than he is?” Even Noah didn’t believe it. He figured the list must be wrong somehow.

“You have more tangible assets than Mr. Shi does.”

‘You control the assets of three people. Mr. Shi’s assets are divided among his family, He can’t be as rich as you.’

Henry didn’t tell Noah any more. He was afraid talking about Kristina and Albert would dredge up bad memories.

As soon as the two of them walked out of the Ye family’s house, they saw Adrian waiting for Henry, leaning against his car. He waved as soon as he saw him and Noah.

“I’m taking off, Noah. Have a safe drive.” Henry walked towards Adrian and got in the man’s car.

Adrian turned the steering wheel and asked, “I saw you come out with Noah. You two had a fight?”

“Naw. Just a talk.” Henry glanced through the window at Noah, who was about to drive off, and saw a trace of loneliness in his eyes.

Noticing that Henry had been looking at Noah, Adrian said unhappily, “Hey, that’s your brother. Don’t be getting a crush on him or anything.”

Henry was speechless. Adrian always found something dirty to say.

Henry leaned back, closed his eyes and told Adrian lazily, “I’m moving back in with Dad in a few days. Don’t worry, I still have weekends free.”

“What?” Adrian slammed on the brakes, tossing the two of them forward.

Fortunately, they were belted in. He turned to look at Henry, and the latter just nodded.

His indifferent attitude pissed Adrian off. Adrian pounded on the steering wheel with both hands and stepped on the gas to calm himself down.

“So you will work in Ye Group in the daytime and stay in Ye family villa at night?” Adrian rolled down the window, and the warm wind blew in.

Henry opened his eyes and said, “Hey, at least we can go out and grab a bite to eat, right?”

“Well, yes, but we don’t spend enough time together as it is. And breakfast’s out, you know I don’t get up that early,” Adrian said unhappily.

Staring at his profile, Henry said, “Hey, if I can move back home, you can get up early.”

Adrian immediately understood what Henry meant. He tilted his head and couldn’t help laughing. “You’re really fucking impressive, you know that?”

But Adrian’s misgivings turned out to be true. After Henry moved back in, Adrian felt empty. Henry couldn’t spare much time for him even when they managed to eat together. Adrian felt like he was suffocating.

After two or three days of this, Adrian went to the bar to drown his sorrows in wine.

One day, he had quite a bit to drink and staggered out of the bar. He just happened to bump into Vivian who was seeing Jessica off.

Adrian hated Vivian. The reason Henry returned to the Ye family was because of Vivian’s feud with Nina.

“I’m alone because of her.” A drunken Adrian pointed at Vivian and waved to his men. “Bring her here.”

Vivian was waving to Jessica at this point. She waited till she left, then started walking away. As soon as she turned to leave, she was dragged into an alley by several strange men.

“What are you doing? Let go of me! I’m with the Ye family. Leave me alone if you know what’s good for you!” Vivian shouted loudly and struggled, but couldn’t break free.

“All right, all right. Quit it. Who cares who you are?” Adrian was drunk. He approached Vivian and pinched her chin. At the same time, he waved his hand to tell his men to stand down.

They thought Adrian was looking for a woman to play with, so they all turned around with their backs to them. Adrian said unhappily, “What are you doing? Why would I want a woman like this? She even killed her unborn sibling.”

Vivian glared at Adrian and said, “Adrian, what are you talking about?”

“Seriously? You don’t know what you did?” Adrian let go of her chin and slapped her. “It was you, wasn’t it? If you hadn’t been such a bitch, they wouldn’t have sent Henry back to Ye family. You deserve every miserable thing that happens to you. You fucking make me sick!”

Adrian’s slap was neither too heavy nor too light. Everyone heard it, though Vivian’s pride was hurt more than anything.

“Adrian, what the hell?” Vivian glared at Adrian with malicious and insidious eyes. This was no weak girl, but a cold, calculating woman. “They? Who are you talking about?”
