MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 44
Henry’s rhetorical question left a chill in the air.
Howard and Noah fixed their eyes on Vivian and made her uncomfortable.
“I don’t know what I did wrong. I don’t think Henry likes me.” Vivian pursed her lips, hurt reflected in her watery eyes. Henry raised his eyebrow and said, “You’re not confident enough.
You should be more confident and get rid of ‘I think’ statements. It’s true I don’t like you.”
Henry didn’t like this girl at all. Vivian didn’t have any advantage here.
She was not as beautiful as Nina, not as pure and lovely as Michelle, not as elegant as Emma and certainly not as thoughtful as John’s female assistant.
When Henry thought of women, they were the ones that came to mind. And she couldn’t hold a candle to them. The only thing Vivian had going for her was that she was from a rich family.
Henry sighed in his heart.
Embarrassment became apparent on Vivian’s face. She wanted to ask Henry why he came back to the Ye family. But before she could speak, Howard spoke up.
“You three should try to get along with each other from now on.” Howard was polite, but he had a point to make.
“I have something to discuss with you before the meal. Noah doesn’t want to take over Ye Group. Vivi can’t do it. So, it falls to you, Henry.”
Vivian gnashed her teeth. Her father was wrong, she could do it. She was at the reins of Ye Group for a time, and it was profitable. But she got bullied by Nina, and that was when the problems started.
Now Ye Group was running smoothly. If they made her CEO, she’d be able to do a lot for the company.
Her father liked Henry better. He thought the young man should be the CEO of Ye Group. The company would go places under Henry’s leadership in the future.
Then where did that leave her?
No way. She couldn’t let them get away with it.
“I think it’s a great idea. Henry used to work for Brother John, and he is better than me in every way. We should definitely give him a chance.” Vivian smiled gracefully.
“I can’t blame you for thinking that way.” Howard’s expression softened and he looked at her again.
“Noah, what do you think?” Howard asked his eldest son’s opinion on purpose.
“I have no problems.” Noah was not interested in business, so he had no objection. He even expressed his support. “Henry’s a good choice to head the company.”
Howard smiled with satisfaction, the corners of his eyes wrinkling.
Vivian gnashed her teeth so much they were close to breaking off. Originally, Noah supported her, but she pushed Noah away. This was the result.
Now he supported Henry!
‘Does he really want nothing for himself?’
Vivian didn’t believe it for a second. She just regretted pushing Noah away. Now she was alone.
“When is this supposed to happen?”
Vivian asked.
Howard said, “Tomorrow.”
“That soon?” Vivian blurted out, realizing too late she was giving away her plans. “I mean you should give Henry some time to prepare.”
“He can go to work tomorrow. I believe in him.” Howard thought the world of Henry. He thought the young man could tackle anything.
Vivian was seething mad. But she said nothing. If she spoke in anger, she might give something away. She needed time.
“Dad, you just said that I couldn’t handle it. Maybe I could learn from Henry?” She couldn’t let this chance slip through her fingers. She wanted Ye Group, and this might be the best way to get it.
As long as she could get her foot in the door, there was a chance she could take control of the company once more.
Howard frowned as if he was thinking it over.

After hesitating a moment, he nodded and said, “Agreed. You’re my daughter, and have some experience already. How does a vice president sound?”

Howard had an ulterior motive for this. He didn’t know whether Henry was really good enough, and Vivian wanted control of Ye Group.
He’d make them work in the company together. One was the president while the other was the vice president.
This was the best thing for the Ye family.
As the head of the family, Howard had to look at the bigger picture. He had to turn a blind eye to the fact that Vivian caused Julie’s miscarriage. Besides, he couldn’t complete believe what others said.
“Vice president?” Vivian was stunned. Her intuition told her not to trust this, so she tried a different tack. “You have Henry, why do you need a vice president? Besides, I’m there to learn something from him. A VP position might keep me too busy. Maybe I could become his assistant?”
“Assistant?” Noah glanced at Vivian, his eyes flickering. He didn’t know what she was up to this time.
Why would she be willing to just be an assistant?
He racked his brains, but had no answer.
But as long as it was not harmful to Ye Group, Noah decided not to get involved.
“Good choice. You should learn more from Henry,” said Noah.
Henry said, “It’s up to you.”
“In that case, I’ll take the job.” That went better than any of them expected.
The four of them sat at the table for the meal. Howard catered to Henry’s preferences, trying to make the meal as delicious as possible for him. This made Vivian lose her appetite.
They were all Howard’s children. Why did he treated them differently?
As far as Vivian was concerned, her father was unfair. He preferred boys to girls.
“Is Henry moving back in?” Vivian asked tentatively.
Howard smiled. “Of course. You can take care of each other. I only see Noah a couple times a year. If Henry moves back, I won’t be so lonely.”
Noah stopped eating, and felt sorry for his father. He knew Howard loved him a lot, but they seldom talked to each other.
“I’ll drop in for meals more often,” Noah said. “How does that sound?” The more he thought about it, the more he thought it might be a good idea to spend as much time as he could with his father. Tomorrow is not promised.
“Great. Tell me before you drop in. I’ll ask the chef to cook your favorite dishes,” Howard said excitedly, his eyes misty with tears.
He was getting old. Sometimes he just wanted to see his children more often.
Henry wasn’t sure he liked the idea of moving back in, but it made sense. “I’ll stay here, but I’m going out on weekends.”
“Sounds good.” Howard was beaming. The wrinkles returned to the corners of his eyes as he smiled broadly.
Seeing them chatting happily, Vivian felt ignored. She decided to remind that she was still there.
“Does Henry have a girlfriend now?” “No,” Howard replied. He had a boyfriend.
Howard remembered one thing. Henry would get engaged to Vera. He had to mention it in a roundabout way so that Henry wouldn’t get pissed off.
“I’m glad you’re not seeing anyone. I’ve got someone in mind. I’ll introduce you to Vera Fu soon. She’s about your age. I think you’ll like her.”
“Let’s talk about it later. I’m pretty busy right now,” Henry refused politely.
Howard thought for a while and agreed. Henry would be very busy after he took over the Ye Group, so Howard didn’t mention it again.
He turned to Noah. “So when are you getting married, Noah?”
Noah didn’t have a girlfriend. How could he get married?
Noah said calmly, “I’m still young.” Henry was speechless.
‘Is he serious?’
That was a pretty flip answer to give their father. What was he thinking?
