- MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2
- Season 4 Episode 42 - (You've hidden it well)
“I figured you’d be surprised but won’t your mouth get numb?” Henry walked towards Adrian and helped him close his mouth.
Hanging his mouth open for too long might dislocate his jaw.
Adrian came back to his senses. “How come I never found out your secret before?”
“You know now.” Henry looked down at the glasses in his hand and then pointed to his hair.
He hid it on purpose to avoid any suspicion. Even though Adrian managed to take his glasses off several times, he was drunk and didn’t see Henry’s face clearly.
“You’re good at acting,” Adrian said as he held up the glasses. Henry didn’t know if he was praising or mocking him.
Henry took out the clothes that he was planning to wear tonight. He began to explain as he buttoned up his top. “When my mother found out that I would work in Lexingport City, she told me not to let other people see my face. Thus, my disguise.”
“Our mother doesn’t want you to go back to the Ye family yet you’re doing the opposite. How are you going to explain that?” Adrian pressed because he didn’t want him to go back to that family.
“That’s my mother,” Henry corrected deliberately.
Adrian cocked his brows at him. “Is there any difference? That’s our mother.
Don’t try to change the topic. She doesn’t want you to go there so why are insisting on going back? Do you want to retrieve what originally belonged to you? Or do you want to avenge her on your father?”
“None of the above.” Henry threw him a glance with an unreadable look.
‘I just want to be powerful enough to protect you,’ he thought.
“Then why? If you return to the Ye family, you’ll have to marry Vera. Moreover, Vivian will definitely make trouble for you. As far as I know, innocent-looking ladies like her are usually the cunning and sinister ones.”
“What do you mean by that? Have you met a lot of women?” Henry put on his pants and stood in front of Adrian. His darkened face was enough to show how annoying their conversation was.
Sensing the change of his aura, Adrian put on a flattering smile. “That’s not what I mean. I just want you to be wary of Vivian…”
He trailed on his words as he thought of something.
“Wait! I know something. Because of the miscarriage that her mother suffered, the Ye family lost their future heir. Is that the reason why Mr. Shi revealed your identity?”
When he saw how Henry went silent, Adrian became more certain of his hunch. “Vivian and Julie slandered Mrs. Shi. The reason why Mr. Shi forced you to go back to the Ye family is to cushion Howard’s anger. Am I right?”
“You got your guess right but not entirely,” Henry answered.
John did want to make his identity known but he didn’t force him to go back to the Ye family.
“I decided to go back after careful consideration.”
“Careful consideration?” Adrian lunged towards him and grabbed his collar. “Do you have a thing for Vera?”
“No.” Henry creased his forehead and removed Adrian’s grip from him. “Don’t read on it too much.
It’s about time. I’ll head to the Ye family villa now.” Henry peeked on his watch.
Adrian watched him as he went into the bathroom to throw his used clothes into the hamper.
Upon Henry’s words, he was convinced that his reason for going back had something to do with Vivian. He knew the real reason for Julie’s miscarriage.
For that reason, he started to hate Vivian so much that blood rushed to his face out of anger.
“Will you drive me there?” Henry’s gentle tone made Adrian’s rage dissipate into the thin air. “Okay,” he mumbled.
The Ye family villa was especially lively today.
Howard gave orders personally to their servants to prepare for Henry’s arrival. A wrinkled smile was plastered all over his old face.

Just like that, he had forgotten all about Julie’s miscarriage.
There was nothing to worry about anymore because he got his successor. He believed in Henry’s capability of managing their business. After all, he was John’s assistant.
Furthermore, he overheard that it was Henry who handled the Time Group’s affairs while John was busy.
In Howard’s opinion, he was the perfect CEO for the Ye Group.
Howard was overjoyed, but his daughter and wife weren’t.
A crashing sound came.
There were already several broken vases that were scattered on the floor accompanied by torn pieces of paintings. Vivian’s room could be described as a disaster.
She screamed and wailed in front of the dressing mirror.
Her eyes were swollen. Her nose was red and her voice sounded nasal. “Why? Why do I have another brother? It took me a long time to get rid of Noah and my unborn sibling. How could a new brother come out of nowhere?
This is so unfair!” Vivian choked on her words and couldn’t breathe properly because of her hiccups.
She was not the only one who was in utter surprise and despair.
Julie rushed to her daughter’s room despite her weak body. She asked the servant to use a spare key and open the door.
The first thing that she saw when the door creaked open was the mess inside.
“Mom?” Vivian called as she saw the door slowly open. She stood up and saw her mother hovering at the doorway with a pale face. A servant was accompanying her because she couldn’t stand properly.
“Mom, what are you doing here?” Vivian wiped her tears and went to help her mother.
As if on cue, Julie fell into her arms and the two of them collapsed on the wool carpet.
“Vivi, I’m sorry!” Julie hugged her daughter protectively. “This is all my fault. I shouldn’t have believed your father’s words. He told me that you were behind my miscarriage. It was wrong of me to believe that heartless man.”
Vivian was stunned at her words.
‘Is that the reason why Dad treats me unfairly for these past few days? Is he suspecting that I was the one behind it?
No, that’s impossible.’
Vivian tried her best to recall the things that she must have done to make her father suspicious of her.
“Vivi? Hey, say something.” Julie thought that her daughter must have been shocked at the information. “I’m sorry. Don’t worry, I will never believe your father anymore. He has found his illegitimate son. He doesn’t care about us at all.”
Julie began to cry. In just a minute, the room was filled with sobs.
Coldness flashed across Vivian’s eyes. There were tears in her eyes, but they didn’t fall. She looked pitiful yet intimidating at the same time.
“Mom, don’t you think this is too much of a coincidence?” Vivian asked. “Nina accidentally pushed you that caused your miscarriage. Within a short time, the news that Henry is Dad’s illegitimate child surfaced. Even a paternity test was conducted.
I think there is some kind of conspiracy behind this. I’m sure that what happened to you was not an accident. Dad reassured us that he would get even with Nina, but he didn’t. Maybe they planned this.”
Vivian continued to throw mud at Nina. “Mom, that must be it. Nina must have pushed you to get even with me for getting close to Brother John.
It’s my fault, I’m sorry…” Vivian hugged her mother and feigned a cry.
“Those wicked people!” Julie greeted her teeth and cursed. “I swear I will never let this slide. I won’t let go of Nina or Henry. I may not have a son right now, but I still have you, Vivi. I believe that you can compete with Henry for the position of CEO. Moreover, you’ve been working in the industry for a long time. I’m sure you’re more skilled than him.”
“Mom…” Tears welled up in Vivian’s eyes. Finally, her mother’s attention was back to her. “Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone take what’s ours.”
“You really are my daughter,” Julie claimed. They helped each other up as Julie rubbed her daughter’s hand. “Let’s go. We need to welcome your brother.”
