MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 36
No one paid attention to Julie’s miscarriage again. The most important thing right now was the dismemberment.
Mr. Black came back and said, “The people who own these two clothes are not at home. According to their neighbors, they left and went on a trip a week ago.”
“What? A week ago?” Nina asked in confusion. “They must be dead. Three fingers and a leg.”
There was nothing but silence around. Compared with catching the murderer, they wanted to protect the citizens more.
But it was already too late.
Noah had encountered such things before but he still clenched his fists.
“Tom, the three of them made a fortune at the same time. Look into it. Mr. Black will go and search for places where the corpses may have been hidden. Nini and I will be visiting the houses of the victims.”

“Copy that,” Tom said as he turned around.
Before Nina left with Tom, she looked back at Beth who was trembling.
Beth looked like a frightened rabbit.
Nina’s stare made her so scared to get down on her knees. “Please, have mercy! We are living such a miserable life. I will give the one million to you! Just please, don’t let Miss Ye know that I told you everything. Otherwise, she will definitely kill all of us!
Since she can kill her own sibling, she will not let us go. Please, I beg of you,” she pleaded to Nina.
Nina examined Beth’s rough hands. When she thought about what a shabby laundry shop that was, she couldn’t even have it in heart to deal with her.
She then decided to not say another word and just left.
It got dark pretty early as it was raining then. The streetlights gave off a pale yellow glow on the roadside, illuminated by the drop of rain falling from the sky, making it look as if they were floating on air.
The group of policemen walked through the narrow alleys, guarding the city.
The man who led the group had long legs that whenever he stepped onto puddles, some mud and water would splatter.
The heavy expression on Noah’s face was caused by the case and Vivian’s cruelty. His whole figure was hidden in the night as the black umbrella completely covered his face. It made him look rather depressed.
On the other hand, the pressure was starting to get to Nina.
“Mrs. Shi?” Amy stopped and looked towards the direction where Nina was looking.
Noah seemed so lonely.
Nina had barely even seen Noah smile ever since Kristina passed away. He seemed to be always alone.

Nina knew very well how loneliness could be so terrible. It had the capability of devouring the peace and happiness of people, inadvertently.
However, she was still much luckier than Noah.
Her family was still complete, not to mention how much her brother loved her. She was with John and she always had Michelle. If she had nothing else to do, she could just poke fun at James.
On the contrary, except for business, Noah would only visit Evelyn every once in a while.
It broke Nina’s heart, thinking about Noah’s unfortunate situation.
It should not be like that, she thought. He should not be alone.
‘He thinks he has no other family but I am here.
I am his family,’
Nina thought to herself. Then, she ran to where Noah was despite the pouring rain.
She was soaking wet but she did not mind.

She used to be lonely too, but Michelle and John warmed her up. Nina glanced at Noah and hoped in her heart that she could share even some of her warmth with him.
After all, she treated him like her brother.
“Mrs. Shi!” Amy yelled in surprise as she saw Nina run away from under the umbrella.
Upon hearing Amy’s voice, Noah looked up and saw a familiar face. Nina’s side profile, which was oddly similar to Kristina’s, made him look rather disconnected from everything. He zoned out and whispered slightly,
“Aunt Kristina.” He had been longing for Kristina so much. She was his only family.
After she left, Noah felt like he just lost his own home.
Sometimes, he would blame Kristina for leaving him alone in this world.
Sometimes, he would blame Kristina for leaving him alone in this world.
He never wished to go back to the Ye family. That place didn’t belong to him.
He would never force himself into taking things that did not belong to him.
Kristina was family to him. They grew up together, but in the end, he still ended up alone.
Vivian was so cruel as to kill her own unborn sibling, and that left Noah disappointed.
He didn’t expect her to be so cold-blooded.
His heart sank. He was stunned, seeing Nina run towards his direction.
“Noah! Noah!” Nina shouted as she rushed to Noah. She held him by the arm. Her clothes and hair were dripping. Her coat was wet and as the wind blew into the alley,
she trembled and couldn’t help but sneeze.
“Nina,” Noah said in a low voice, “why did you come?”
Nina glared at him and answered, “Ah, I wish to discuss the case with you.”
“Well, we can discuss that later. Look at you, you’re soaking wet!” Noah couldn’t help but scold her. He took off his black shirt for her.
“I’m fine, Noah. My clothes are not that wet. You don’t have to take your shirt off. And besides, it is improper for you to be stripped to the waist,” Nina said with a smile.
Noah just stared at her in amusement. He discussed the case with her while he put the back of his hand on her forehead from time to time just to make sure she didn’t catch a cold or that she wasn’t feverish.
Nina had the ability to immerse herself in one thing in a second and easily block all the external interferences whenever she wanted to.
They analyzed the situation and proceeded to the houses of the two dead people. Just as they expected, they were able to find some parts of their bodies and they sent them to the forensic center.
They still couldn’t locate all of the dead bodies’ parts and the identities of the dead bodies were still yet to be confirmed. However, progress had been made by Mr. Black and Tom.
They were almost convinced that the murder was premeditated and had a revengeful motive, which meant that the killer probably would not go after anyone anymore and that made them less anxious.
Just as Nina was about to follow up on the case, Noah tried to stop her.
“Nini, you need to relax a little. Take a hot shower and some medicine so you wouldn’t catch a cold. We shouldn’t be able to get ahold of the results until tomorrow, anyway. No matter how anxious we get today, it will just be pointless.”
“Alright,” Nina responded.
“The North Yard is far away from here. You can go to my place for now.” Noah then drove Nina and Amy to his apartment just nearby.
According to the principle that no man could ever get close to Nina, Amy stood between her and Noah all the time.
Noah and Nina didn’t seem to care for Amy much and kept talking to each other.
“Here, Nini. These are clean clothes that you can use after you take a shower,” Noah said while holding a new set of clothes and trousers from his wardrobe and then handed them over to Nina. Nina took them and went to take a shower.
After she finished showering, she saw Amy sitting on the couch while Noah stood in the balcony, staring blankly at the rainy night.
Nina walked over to him. “You used to say I’m like a sister to you. But I don’t think it’s enough.”
