- MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2
- Season 4 Episode 28 - (My husband is hotter than you)
On Thursday afternoon As usual, Nina went to Kanner Hospital for an exam. No matter how busy he was, John would take time off work and go to the hospital with her.
John remembered Nina changed her WeChat profile pic. He kept a straight face and said nothing, but he held her a little too tightly, unwilling to let go.
“Honey?” Nina said, tentatively. John gave a perfunctory reply. “Yes?”
‘Oh, that again!’
Nina curled her lips. “That all you can say to me?”
John said, “Yes.”
Nina put her hand to her forehead in frustration. John had thrown this jealous fit all day. Why didn’t he give it a rest?
“Honey, let me show you something.” Nina took out her phone and found the photo Emma sent her this morning. It was the first photo taken of Nina and John.
Nina was on the left, her bright eyes smiling. She only came up to John’s shoulder.
John was standing with his side facing the camera, looking at Nina. His black eyes blazed like stars with the love he felt for her. He only had eyes for her.
There was cream in their hair, like the strands had been dyed white. Nina liked to think it meant the two of them were inseparable, even in old age.
Nina was fascinated by the scene and was quiet. Almost like words would ruin the moment.
John frowned slightly and wondered why Nina stopped talking.
He hesitated for a moment and turned his head to look, only to find that she was staring at her screen, a faint smile on her face.
John had saved the photo the moment he saw it. The phone rested in the inside pocket of his suit jacket, close to his heart.
His marriage license had a place in that same pocket.
In fact, John had thought about locking the marriage license in the safe, but he still wanted to carry it with him. He even had fantasies of carrying Nina with him too.
John patted her on the waist gently to wake her up and continued looking straight ahead.
“What?” Raising her eyes, Nina stared at the side of the man’s face and smiled. She held up her phone so he could see, and changed her wallpaper to the photo they both liked.
“Better?” Nina teased him. “If it’s not, I could make it my Moments’ background image. How about I post it in my Moments to remind everyone who I’m with?”
“Okay.” A smile appeared at the corners of John’s mouth.
She did care.
Nina wanted him to say something more and asked purposefully, “So tell me: change the background, or post it in Moments? Do you want me to remind everyone you’re my husband?”
Without any hesitation, John said, “All of the above.”
“All of what?” Why didn’t he just say a few words? Why would he do that?
They’d been married a while. Why couldn’t he just say what he wanted? John knew what she was up to, but he wasn’t about to give her what she wanted.
He wanted to teach his wife a lesson. “All of the above,” John repeated.
Nina forced a smile and said, “If you can’t say it out loud, then forget it.”
She pretended to take her phone back, but John raised his hand and grabbed her wrist to stop her.
“I want that photo to be your background picture, and I want you to post it in Moments.” John sighed in his heart and let go of her wrist as a concession. With a complacent smile, Nina quickly changed the background picture and posted it in Moments. She had planned to type “My husband.”
And then, just to make John happy, she wrote, “My husband is hotter than you.” In the past, Nina wouldn’t be able to bring herself to post something like that. This was an important period in her growth.

Less than three seconds after Nina posted it, she got her first reply. In another three seconds, she had scores of relies. Everyone suspected Nina’s WeChat had been hacked, and her friends were quick to point the finger.

Michelle said, “Nini, did Uncle John get into your WeChat? Or did you give your phone to him voluntarily?”
“I hope it’s the latter,” Emma replied.
James commented, “Aunt Nina would never post something like that. It’s gotta be Uncle John. He’s so possessive.”
“Mr. Shi pretends he’s so reserved, and then he posts something like that,” said Adrian.
Adrian’s reply seemed a little confrontational.
Nina suddenly thought of Henry, working hard at Time Group. No wonder Adrian was a little miffed.
As Nina read the comments, she wanted to laugh. Everyone knew John was a little conceited.
She wondered if she should tell John, and that was when she saw his comment.
John just left a smile emoji. The other comments all disappeared all of a sudden—those people deleted them.
“I think you scared them away, honey,” Nina said, smiling. She couldn’t blame them, or him.
“Screw them,” said John indifferently. “I’d rather not. You, on the other hand…” While Nina was laughing, John glanced at her and pulled her into his arms.
Nina lost her balance and fell on his legs.
She simply turned and rested her head in John’s lap. She took his arm and wrapped it around her. She stared at the shadows the tree outside cast on the wall.
“Does this mean you’re not angry anymore?”
John reached out and pinched the corner of her mouth. He leaned forward and kissed her. “Does it look like I’m angry?”
Nina smiled. “Honey, I love you.”
“I know,” John said, smiling back.
Nina said, “Me too.”
John asked, “What?”
‘Of course, I know you love me too.’
However, Nina wasn’t going to say it out loud. Instead, she kept him in suspense and said, “I’m not telling.”
With a chuckle, John reached out his hand and pinched Nina’s face. It was so soft. With a gentle pinch, it turned light pink, as if she had drunk a little wine.
Soon they arrived at Kanner Hospital. Five minutes before that, Vivian had already heard Nina and John were pulling into the parking lot. She plotted the most likely hallways they’d take to see Dr. Brian.
“Did you want to go back to the room, Mom?” Vivian asked Julie. Nina and John should be here any minute.
Vivian indicated she wanted go back, but she guided her mother to the most likely hallways Nina would go through.
“I’ve only been walking around for three minutes. I still want to walk more and get some exercise. Your brother put me through a lot. Now I’m fat.” Julie held her waist with one hand and walked slowly. “Dr. Zhou said that the baby’s in good condition. I should walk more.”
“But Dr. Zhou asked you to be more careful,” Vivian said worriedly.
“I’ll be back in ten minutes.” Julie paid special attention to the baby in her belly.
“I’ll be back in ten minutes.” Julie paid special attention to the baby in her belly.
Ten minutes was enough for Vivian to carry out her plan.
