MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 27
It seemed to be quite a lively time but three people were dead silent. Since John was taking a shower, he couldn’t reply. Even if he saw the messages, he wouldn’t join in.
After divorcing Jessica, Jason kept far away from the Shi family affairs.
He took the initiative and cared for Sam from time to time, though. James also still addressed Jason as his uncle without knowing that Jessica and Jason were divorced.
Jessica seemed to isolate herself, just pondering her mistakes. Without Sam’s permission, she couldn’t leave her house anyway.
Looking at messages in the group chat, Jessica felt even more upset.
She felt like her whole family hated her. Was she in the wrong?
“Yvonne, what do you think I should do?” she asked.
“It’s always better to make amends instead of letting it consume you.”
“Do I have to show Nina some affection or something?” Jessica refused to give up her pride. “This is the Shi family. I’m a Shi while Nina is just an outsider.”
She was less arrogant than before. In fact, she felt wronged.
Yvonne said, “Ms. Lu goes to Kanner Hospital for an examination every week. I think you go find her and clear the misunderstanding between you and her.”
“Misunderstanding?” Jessica rolled her eyes and sneered. “Yes, there’s a big misunderstanding. She was hiding that she is the princess of C Island. Why was she trying to keep such a low profile? Was she just waiting to make a fool out of me?”
“I think you’re reading into this too much.” Yvonne was doing her best to speak some sense into Jessica.
‘Jessica isn’t a terrible person but she’s just too proud.
She just needs to get along with Nina. Maybe if she can start realizing her mistakes, she’ll get back together with Mr. Fu.’
Although Jessica hardly ever mentioned Jason these days, she could often be seen completely jaded and stuck in a daze.
Yvonne knew that Jessica was wrong but she didn’t dare tell her.
“Okay, I know.” During her period of isolation, she realized a lot. She had come to the conclusion that being a little kind could benefit her so much in the long run.
“What time are Nina’s appointments?” “Every Thursday afternoon. Those are the only days that she doesn’t have any classes.”
“Thursday afternoon?” Jessica took a look at the date. “That’s tomorrow. I think I can go and meet her. By the way, is Julie still in the hospital? Help me get a gift and we’ll go visit her as well.”
“Sure.” Yvonne acknowledged Jessica before leaving.
Jessica rubbed the temples of her forehead, seeming exhausted. She looked like a rundown figure and the only lively thing about her was the sun beaming off her necklace.
Vivian heard the conversation between Jessica and Yvonne just now.
This was possibly the most useful thing that Vivian heard since she started spying on Jessica.
So now she knew that Nina was going to be at the hospital every Thursday afternoon.
Did she have some sort of fatal disease?
Vivian thought long and hard and decided to investigate.
Maybe she would get the chance that she craved.
In the VIP ward of Kanner Hospital, Vivian sat at a table by the window with headphones on and her laptop on the table.
Julie lay on the bed, her belly slightly bulging. She was intently reading a parenting book, almost like she was studying for a test.
This child would secure her position in the Ye family. How could she not take this seriously?
Seeing how her mother put great importance on the child in her belly, Vivian was a little worried in all honesty.
After what happened last time, Vivian’s father not only lost his cool with her, but also took away her position. He began to run the Ye Group by himself.
Although he said he wanted her to be out of the limelight for the time being, Vivian knew that she would never be able to take over the Ye Group after her mother gave birth to a son.
Vivian’s farther was as fit as a fiddle and he could easily leave the company to the unborn baby. By the time he would need to hand over the Ye Group, the child would be old enough to run it.
Her lofty position in the Ye family would mean nothing and she would be cast aside.
Staring at her mother’s belly, Vivian’s eyes deepened.
She couldn’t let this child be born. Vivian couldn’t expose her hatred though.
She had to be more careful than before. She must be patient. She had been so impatient to deal with Nina that she had failed in the end.
Of course, part of the reason was that Jessica was too brainless. The only thing Jessica brought to the table was the resources she had.

Vivian couldn’t let Jessica go just yet though.
A nurse pushed the door open and said,
“Miss Ye, Dr. Zhou is looking for you.”
“Okay, I’ll be right there.” Vivian put her maniacal plans aside and walked to the door. “Mom, I’m going out.”
“Oh all right,” Julie said perfunctorily, without looking up.
Vivian was used to it though.
Dr. Zhou was Julie’s attending doctor. She was an obstetrician and around the age of forty. She was very highly regarded in the medical field.
What nobody knew was that she was secretly buttering up people in high places to get what she wanted.
When Dr. Zhou saw Vivian, she smiled, almost fawning over her. Although Vivian was not the CEO of Ye Group now, she was still part of that family and that was enough to get her special treatment.
“Miss Ye, please have a seat. Do you want some water? I’ll pour it for you.” “Thank you, Dr. Zhou. Now, what can I do for you?” Vivian still kept up her elegant image to the outside world. She spoke in such a kind and dignified manner.
Dr. Zhou poured her a glass of water and sat opposite Vivian. “Miss Ye, I want to tell you about your mother’s condition. The baby is four months old and is still stable, but your mother is an elderly pregnant woman. She may…”
Dr. Zhou was about to say the unspeakable but thought better of it. She waited and wanted to observe Vivian’s expression.
She often treated women from rich and high families so she was no stranger to the drama. She knew exactly what was going on.
Dr. Zhou had helped a lot of people to get her current status.
Judging from what she picked up of Vivian over the past few days, she knew that Vivian had already made up her mind about this baby.
Nobody ever welcomed more competition for family power.
Vivian was a smart woman. In fact, she had already researched everything about Dr. Zhou and knew exactly what she was up to.
“I understand. I just hope you can take care of the baby in my mother’s belly. My parents are looking forward to its arrival.” Vivian smiled and looked over at Dr. Zhou warmly.
She had a feeling that Dr. Zhou had understood everything already.
Vivian wasn’t wrong. Dr. Zhou had already caught on.
Vivian said her parents were looking forward to the baby’s arrival, but she didn’t say she was looking forward to it.
When their eyes met, it seemed like they had a full conversation without saying a word. There was a mutual understanding about what had to be done.
Dr. Zhou needed to be rewarded for her work, though.
Vivian said, “Dr. Zhou, please take good care of my mother’s baby. I’ll be sure to reward you generously.”
Her request was riddled with cryptic messages.
She had to be discreet so she wouldn’t arouse any suspicion.
Dr. Zhou smiled, “Of course I will. Thank you, Miss Ye. The baby seems to be stable but your mother is elderly after all. She’ll need to walk around a little but not for too long. Pregnant women need proper exercise and since your mother is experienced, she should know that as well.”
“I see. Thank you, Dr. Zhou.” Vivian stood up and left. When she returned to her mother’s ward, she said, “Mom, Dr. Zhou said that the baby is stable in your belly.”
“Really?” Julie put down the parenting book and looked at Vivian excitedly. “Can I get out of bed and take a walk? I was too scared to do anything with the baby.”
Vivian glanced at the parenting book on her mother’s bed and said, “Just read for today. I’ll help you go out for a walk tomorrow afternoon.”
“Why tomorrow afternoon? I just want to go today.” Julie pulled the quilt off and gestured for Vivian to help her up.
After tucking her in, Vivian put the parenting book back into Julie’s hand and said, “Mom, don’t worry. Take your time. It’ll be better for my brother to just go out tomorrow.”
The word “brother” really sent Julie to a state of euphoria. Julie patted her daughter’s hand and said, “Don’t worry, Vivi. Your brother will give you everything you deserve when he grows up.”
Julie touched her bulging belly and smiled kindly.
Vivian smiled and nodded.
She looked over at Julie’s pregnant bump and stared.
‘Make the most of the time you can spend together now.
You may not have much time left.
You may not even make it to tomorrow afternoon,’ Vivian thought.
