- MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2
- Season 4 Episode 25 - (The world is dangerous)
The ride home was mostly silent.
John wore a stoic expression. He had been in a bad mood the whole time.
He didn’t utter a single word after pushing Nina into the car.
Nina didn’t have to ask why John acted that way because she knew exactly what the reason was. He had called her for more than ten times. Every time he called, she would tell him that she was about to go home. However, more than an hour had already passed and she still sat there drinking her afternoon tea.
“You don’t need to hold back your anger. It’s unhealthy.” Nina tried to convince John in a soft tone.
John, however, still remained silent.
He glanced sideways at her and caught a glimpse of Nina’s relaxed expression. This made him even angrier.
He had been so busy with his work, and yet his wife had been hanging around with her friends.
It was so unfair.
Nina leaned to one side and fixed her gaze on John.
After he got his haircut, the sharp angles on his face became more prominent.
As the sun continued to set, the orange hues of its rays touched the other side of John’s face through the car window.
Since it was a bit dark inside the car, the light accentuated his features even more.
He had a high nose bridge and his lips were thin. His clear jawline made his neck appear more slender. Nina could see his Adam’s apple slightly rolling. Nina continued to memorize the scene in front of her.
This man was hers.
John belonged to her and no one else.
Nina tilted her head to the side a little bit and shifted into a more relaxing position while never taking her eyes away from John.
The night breeze blew towards their direction, and Nina caught a whiff of his light scent along with the strong smell of tobacco.
Nina scrunched up her nose. John had smoked again.
Judging from the strong scent, he definitely had more than one.
John’s expression was still stoic. He never showed any expression of joy or anger on his face. Even though he was in a bad mood, he didn’t show it.
Nina knew he was upset because he had smoked.
She didn’t think that she was the reason behind this. It was probably due to the heavy amount of work that John had to deal with during the past few days.
Nina hadn’t returned for a while. She suspected that John was surely angry, which was why he was currently ignoring her.
“What are you looking at?” John couldn’t take it anymore. It was hard to ignore Nina’s eyes that seemed to penetrate through his skull.
He didn’t know if he could take any second longer of her stare.
“I believe you already know the answer to that.” Nina’s voice sounded soft. “I’m looking at my handsome husband, of course.”
John smiled every time Nina would praise him.
She was confident that this time wouldn’t be so different.
As if right on cue, the corners of John’s mouth slightly lifted.
The smile was only for a split second. His lips pressed into a thin line again followed by a long silence.
Nina pursed her lips. Her trick didn’t seem to work on John anymore.
“What time is it already?” John asked after a while.
Nina picked up her phone and looked at the time. She felt relieved that John finally said something. “It’s already half past six.”
“Dusk has fallen,” John added. His voice was calm and void of any emotion. Nina furrowed her brows. “What’s wrong with the dusk?”
John slowly turned his head towards her.
He couldn’t believe that Nina had the nerve to ask what was wrong.
“You told me that you would return in the afternoon!” John growled.
Nina stared at john and blinked for a couple of times.
Realization suddenly dawned on her.
She recalled making a promise to John that she would return in the afternoon so that he would allow her to go shopping with her friends Nina couldn’t look at John. “It’s still considered the afternoon.”
“It’s already the dusk,” John glared at her and said through gritted teeth.

“Well…” Nina was at a loss for words. She knew that she was wrong. “Don’t you always say that I have never spent your money? I used your card today. I’ve bought so many things that I don’t even know how much I’ve spent.”
Since Nina had her own money, she had never used the black card John had given her until today.
John had always wanted Nina to use it.
“My card?” John’s expression softened. He felt somewhat satisfied when Nina nodded.
One of the reasons he made lots of money was for Nina to spend it.
A smile slowly formed on John’s lips as he stretched out his arms to wrap them around Nina’s waist. He pulled her closer to him and gave her a light peck on the lips.
“Let’s go home for dinner.” Nina looked over to John’s face. He was now in a good mood.
John decided to let the incident go. During bedtime, however, John started to pursue a different matter.
He discovered that Nina had changed her profile picture on WeChat to a photo of her and Leon.
The photo of the two together was taken by Michelle.
He looked over to Leon’s profile and found the exact same photo as his profile picture as well.
John scowled as he stared at the photo. Nina’s and Leon’s identical profile pictures made them look like a couple. As soon as Nina came out of the bathroom, he handed over the phone to her. “Change it back,” he demanded.
Nina stopped drying her hair with the towel. She glanced at her profile picture and replied firmly, “No. He’s my brother. Don’t tell me that you’re also jealous of him. How old are you? You are so naive!”
Nina had a smirk on her face as she put her phone away.
John’s scowl deepened. He picked Nina up and threw her on the bed while pressing her down.
“John! You’re too heavy!” Nina exclaimed. She tried to push him away with her thin arms but miserably failed to do so.
Nina didn’t know how John had gotten so strong all of a sudden.
Seeing that there was no way for her to push him away, Nina shot him a glare.
John sneered at her. He had exerted a lot of effort in order to subdue his wife.
“If you won’t change it, then you won’t be getting up.” John gripped her hands over her head. “Change it back.”
“No way!” Nina spat. She wasn’t afraid of him at all. Instead, she just tilted her head to the side. She could sleep like this. After all, she had been pressed down like this for the whole night in the past.
John continued to glare at Nina. Both were silent for a long time when Nina finally turned her head to look at him and raised her eyebrows in a playful manner.
“My husband has never been willing to bully me.”
Her complacent appearance was very mischievous.
John groaned in frustration.
Nina really knew how to deal with him.
This was not a good sign for him.
John raised an eyebrow. “Oh, really?” An evil smirk appeared on his lips. “My little girl, the world is dangerous.”
John’s hot breath made Nina weak. She slightly opened her eyes and stared at her husband. “What are you doing?”
“Guess.” John wore a meaningful smile and got up to move beside her feet. He held her ankle gently with his large hand. “I remember the last time when I wiped your feet, you said you were ticklish.”
Nina frowned and tried to get rid of the big hand.
However, she was too late.
John started to tickle her. At first, Nina tried to suppress her laughter. She wasn’t able to hold it for long, however. She wasn’t able to hold it for long, though.
John’s fingertips lightly grazed her foot. They moved like a slow melody whenever Nina played the piano.
Nina felt weak from the feeling. She had soon lost all of her strength to pull her foot back. Instead, she ended up laughing so hard and leaned back.
John found her reaction amusing.
“Are you going to change it?” He paused for a while and gently scratched the sole of her foot.
“I…” Nina burst into a fit of laughter once more. “I won’t…” She was laughing so hard that tears started to roll down her face.
“You won’t?” John smirked at her.
He showed no mercy and continued to tickle her foot.
