- MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2
- Season 4 Episode 23 - (I have a lots of money)
Time passed quickly, and in a flash, half a month was already over.
Nina had slowly begun to realize that she was being to clingy, causing John to lose focus on his business affairs most of the time.
And so, one weekend, she decided to go out shopping with Michelle and Emma. They were passing by a stationery shop when Emma stopped.
“I want to buy a new diary.” They walked into the store and Emma picked a loose-leaf notebook.
There were no lines or patterns in it and Nina personally felt that it was a little monotonous.
“I think your eyes will feel tired when you see that journal full of words and very little else.”
“I’ll be drawing some things and pasting some photos to decorate the pages,” Emma explained with a smile.
“Emma has been keeping a diary since she was a child,” Michelle chimed in. “Nini, would you like to buy one, too?” “I’ve never kept a diary,” Nina said nonchalantly.
“Nini, you can write down the stories between you and your husband. You can also draw something. In this way, you can record anything and everything going on in your life. Even if your memory gets bad when you get older, the diary can help you remember these moments,” Michelle suggested excitedly while Emma remained silent.
‘Would I really remember everything as long as I read the diary?
That’s a good idea.’
Looking at the thick notebook handed over by Michelle, Nina frowned as she pondered some more.
The three girls strolled all the way from the first floor to the tenth floor of the HD Square. Whenever Nina saw something she liked, she would take out the black card and buy them.
And every time Nina or Emma would pause to look at an item even for a moment, she would pat them on the shoulder and say, “Just buy it!”
Then she would head over to the cashier and hand over the black card.
They were barely out of the third floor and Michelle and Emma already found themselves with far too many bags than they could carry. They were heavy, too. Nina, on the other hand, wasn’t fazed at all. She walked ahead of them in high spirits, her sunglasses on, the bags in her hands much heavier.
Emma couldn’t help but sigh. “Nina is really a powerful girl.”
“Oh no, Emma! Nini has entered another shop.” Even the ever lively and cheerful Michelle was feeling tired.
They paused to catch their breaths when Nina ducked out of the shop, took off her sunglasses, and peeked at them. “Hurry up.”
Emma and Michelle entered the shop and sat down. They closed their eyes and leaned against each other, not daring to look at anything.
They knew that Nina would immediately buy anything they even glanced at.
“Mimi, Emma, do you like the bags in this shop? And shoes, too. See if there’s anything you like.” Nina was definitely in a good mood.
She often heard that shopping was a way to relax. It seemed right.
“No,” Emma and Michelle answered in unison, their voices carrying the same weight of weariness.
Nina stopped what she was doing. She looked at her friends, who were slouched at a couch with their eyes closed. “Then we’ll just buy them all,” she said seriously. “You can choose the one you like slowly or change the bag and shoes every day.”
Emma and Michelle were so stunned that they immediately opened their eyes.
Michelle pointed at several pairs of shoes and said, “I want them.”
“I like this bag.” Emma also pointed at an item.
The shop was full of luxury goods, each one well-designed.
Nina was finally satisfied, and she whipped out her black card yet again. “I’ll buy them.”
The shop assistant took the card with trembling hands, overjoyed that she would be getting a lot of commission from this single transaction.
Neither she nor the other attendants in the store had ever catered to a client as generous as Nina. Some of them wondered if she was a both rich and stupid.
Well, even if they voiced out their thoughts, Nina would simply say, “I have a lot of money.”
By the time they reached the fifth floor, Michelle and Emma were already in a panic. Emma racked her brains to come up with a way to stop today’s shopping spree.
“Nina, we can’t carry them anymore. Let’s stop now. We can do more shopping next time.”
“Are they heavy?” Nina lifted the bags she carried high up in the air as if to test their weight. “I don’t think they’re very heavy.”
Emma didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “But you’re too strong, Nina.”
“Nini, I really can’t lift them.” Michelle’s face was turning red.

They managed to convince her in the end, and Nina finally ceased her shopping and looked for a place to sit with her friends.

Emma and Michelle heaved long sighs of relief.
But in less than half an hour, Amy and Lena appeared in front of them and took away everything they had bought.
Nina continued shopping. And with nothing in their hands, Michelle and Emma knew that there was really no reason to stop her this time.
Within the length of three hours, Nina had bought various things from different stores, but she didn’t enter FG clothing store.
“FG is John’s business. It needs to make money from other people.”
Emma thought it made sense and nodded in agreement.
Pretty soon Michelle began to feel sleepy from all their roaming around. She was in a slight daze, and Emma had to hold her hand to keep her steady.
She went on like this until Nina mentioned that she wanted to have afternoon tea. Just like that, all of Michelle’s fatigue vanished. “Afternoon tea? I know the perfect place! There’s a tea house nearby, and their pastries are very delicious.”
The girls agreed to head over there. They chose a table on the balcony and watched the bustling streets below.
There was tea and pastries on the table, and a gently breeze blew by.
They were enjoying their tea when someone suddenly called out to them. “Nina? Emma?”
All three of them turned to look to the direction of the voice.
Before them were Sheila and Delia, good friends of James’.
“Good afternoon, Nina and Emma,” Delia smiled brightly.
“Good afternoon,” Emma replied. “Are you here for afternoon tea, too?”
“This is Delia’s tea house. She said she saw you just now, but I didn’t believe it. I never imagined that you would actually be here.” Sheila looked excited. “May I sit here?”
Emma glanced at Nina, prompting Sheila to follow her gaze. “Nina, can I have afternoon tea with you?”
“Have a seat.” Nina didn’t refuse; she had met Sheila and Delia before. That time, she got drunk and set fire to James and his friends’ secret base.
Sheila sat down happily.
Nina turned to Delia and smiled. “Your tea and pastries are very good.”
Delia’s eyes lit up. “Thank you. I’ll ask someone to bring you some more pastries.”
“Thank you.” Michelle also smiled.
“You’re welcome,” Delia smiled shyly. As she left, Sheila turned to them. “Nina, let me introduce myself to your company. My name is Sheila Xu. James is my good friend.”
Emma felt a measure of discomfort at the girl’s words, but she quickly snuffed it.
She refused to be so narrow-minded. “My name is Emma Lin.”
“I know! Back when James was still wooing you, he would talk about you every day. After you have become a couple, he would often mention you on his Weibo and Wechat Moments.” Sheila smiled. “We are all jealous, I must say.” Emma blushed.
Sheila continued, “Your surname is Lin. Are you from the famous Lin family? I met Miss Lin, the eldest daughter of the Lin family’s head. Is she your sister? I have heard that you’re very talented. You and James are a perfect match.”
“No. My parents just own a bookstore.” Emma was a little embarrassed in light of the other girl’s expectation, but she was full of tenderness and pride when she mentioned her parents.
“Emma, I’m sorry,” Sheila said quickly with an apologetic look on her face. “I thought you were from the Lin family. But I don’t mean that you are not good enough for James. I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.”
Sheila lowered her head, obviously ridden with guilt. “You don’t mind it, do you?”
Emma didn’t look so well either. ‘It turns out that James’ friends all think that I don’t deserve him.
They’re right. It’s the truth.’
A beat passed in silence before Emma finally smiled and spoke gently. “I don’t mind.”
“Well, I mind,” Nina said coldly. She had been observing for a while and thought that there was more to Sheila’s words.
Sheila started to feel nervous.
