MY UNKNOWN HUSBAND, VOLUME 2 - Season 4 Episode 21

Nina shook her head and said, “No. Aside for nightmares, I can remember almost everything I have experienced. I haven’t forgotten anyone or anything.”

Brian smiled and said, “Maybe you and Mr. Shi are too worried. That is why you are having nightmares.”

Brian didn’t believe that any type of medicine could tamper with a person’s memory. A person would lose their memories because there was something wrong with their nerves or they were hypnotized.

“I don’t know.” Nina was very confused. She curled up in John’s arms and didn’t say anything else.

Once more, the examination came to nothing.

The report was pointless, leaving John and Nina puzzled.

John went back to work with Nina accompanying him. He asked Lisa to bring a dress and a pair of shoes for Nina.

Nina remained silent all the way to the Time Group and refused to speak even in the office. She sat still, clinging onto John’s hand.

There were tears dripping from her eyes and soaking her lashes. Her eyes and nose were red as she looked down woefully.

Tears continued to stream.

John was so heartbroken, staring at his poor girl. He had no idea what to do. He raised his hand and wiped her tears away. It didn’t stop her tears though. They flowed nonstop as if her eyes were like waterfalls. John raised her chin and gave her a gentle kiss.

Nina’s salty tears fell into his lips as he kissed her.

He was equally as terrified as Nina but he had to be strong for her. He needed to give her a sense of security.

After thinking for a while, John said, “It’s just a dream. Even if you forget me one day, it doesn’t matter.”

“It matters,” Nina said through her sobs.

Even though she was crying, John was relieved that she could at least speak. With a faint smile, he said, “I’ll make you fall back in love with me again.”

Just thinking of their first meeting, John chuckled and added, “I’ll wrap myself in a towel and ask you if you’d seen enough.”
His low voice was as soft as the clouds in the sky. It was totally different from the cold and tough voice she first heard when they met.

John held Nina in his arms, with his chin against her head, and said slowly, “If you are angry and want to beat someone, you can hit me. Just don’t touch my face.”

Nina couldn’t help laughing. John still had a knack for entertaining her.

She laughed through her runny nose, creating a snot bubble.

She blushed uncontrollably.

She was in no mood to laugh anymore. Concealing his laughter, John raised his hand and wiped her snot with his sleeve.
Nina froze as he reached out. She couldn’t believe what he was doing. John didn’t show any hint of displeasure at all. His love was much stronger than any sort of disgust that he could have felt.

She still felt embarrassed though. In her mind it was very unbecoming.

“Well, you can laugh if you want.” Regardless of her pride, Nina blew her nose forcefully into John’s sleeve.

The sound was a lot louder than John expected.

He touched her head and said, “Have a seat. I’ll bring you the shoes and dress.”

The dress Lisa sent was placed on the sofa. John and Nina were beside the desk as he comforted her.

The sofa wasn’t far at all but in Nina’s eyes, it was a mile away.

She held onto John’s arm, not letting him leave. Just the thought of him leaving, made her short of breath. Nina’s voice wavered as she said, “I’ll go with you.”

Her beautiful eyes filled with tears and John couldn’t reject her looking at that. Before John could pick her up, she stood up and stood on his shoes, wrapping her arms around his waist. “Just walk. I’ll hang on.”

“Okay.” This wasn’t exactly convenient. He could barely bend his legs at all and he’d probably have to waddle over to the sofa.

And so he did. He clumsily waddled, trying not to fall or drop Nina to the floor.

They looked like idiots in all honesty. Both Adrian and Henry thought so. They watched them from outside the office, silently judging the couple.

Adrian said, “Are they idiots? How could such incredible people be so weird?”

Henry answered, “I don’t know. Maybe it’s some sort of role play.”

“Role play?” Curiosity shrouded Adrian’s mind. “How about having a try?”

Henry cast a glance at Adrian and said, “Are you going to wear a wig again?”

Adrian smiled. “Forget I said anything.” He hoped to never wear that wig again. It wasn’t even Adrian’s wig. He just took it off someone’s head when he was drunk.
Henry smiled and said nothing.

They walked off to the side to wait patiently.

Regardless of what other people said, Nina asked, “Husband and wife are one, right?”

“Yes.” John slowly walked towards the sofa. His hands passed under Nina’s arms, and he lifted her up holding her as she clung onto him like a koala. He turned around and flopped onto the sofa.

John picked up the dress and put it on Nina. The baggy dress just covered her nightdress and her beautiful figure.

“Just adjust yourself a little.” John needed her to move so he could get her shoes on.

Hearing this, Henry and Adrian both took a deep breath and exchanged glances with each other.

They thought that they better not stay to see this part.

“Wait, it hurts a little.” Nina spoke calmly but it still shocked the life out of Henry and Adrian. They thought that they were listening to John and Nina starting some sort of sexual encounter.

Henry suddenly realized something. “She is still on her period.”

“Gosh!” Adrian stood up. “I have to stop him. Mr. Shi doesn’t know enough about women. He’s going to hurt her.”

Henry knew that Adrian was right and let him save Nina.

Adrian burst through the door.

Hearing the sound fill the room, John and Nina instantly looked over at the door.

Nina was sitting on John’s lap, with her back to him. John was tilting his body, holding her feet and gently wiping the mud from the soles of her feet with a wet tissue.

Her feet were cut and tenderized by walking around barefoot. The slightest touch was hurting even though she wasn’t bleeding or anything.

“Get out!” John roared angrily.

Aside from Nina, nobody was allowed to enter his office without knocking.

Adrian raised his hand and covered his eyes. He didn’t see what was going on in the office, but only cowered when he heard John’s outburst.

Adrian thought, ‘I understand why Mr. Shi would be annoyed in such a moment.

It doesn’t matter though. I don’t want him to regret this later.’

“Mr. Shi, your wife is on her period now. Don’t mess around, or you will regret it. You can’t say I didn’t warn you.”

John’s face darkened.

He thought, ‘What the hell is going on?’ “Can’t I wash my feet and put my shoes on during my period?” Nina asked suspiciously.

“What?” Adrian felt befuddled. He removed his hand and looked at them. Then he understood what was going on.
“Of course you can wash your feet. But don’t use a wet tissue. It’s cold.” Adrian defused the embarrassment very smartly. “The chill runs through your body very quickly when it goes through your feet. You better use hot water to wash your feet.

I’ll ask Henry to get it.” He walked out and closed the door.

Henry heard the conversation from outside and thanked his lucky stars that he didn’t barge in. He stood there and smiled at Adrian, who was still incredibly flustered.

“I’ll get some hot water,” he offered.

“No.” Adrian stopped him and patted his chest. “I’ll do it. Tell me where to get it and I’ll go.”

Henry narrowed his eyes slightly and asked, “You?”

Adrian walked to Henry and whispered, “I said that I’ll do it. Don’t tell them that I get it. Pretend like you do, okay?”

Henry was slightly stunned. “Just like how Mr. Shi paid me with your money?” Adrian was stunned for a moment, and then asked, “Did Mr. Shi tell you?”

Henry answered, “He always means what he says.” John said he would deduct Henry’s pay, and he was a man of his word.

Henry knew from the beginning that it was Adrian’s money.

He had wanted to refuse, but eventually accepted it.
